Fear

Whenever Order of Yawgmoth deals damage to a player, that player discards a card.

Order of Yawgmoth is missing "The List" alteration. Specifically the DDE (Duel Decks: Phyrexia vs. the Coalition)

Mortlocke on New hubs to be added

Hello legendofa,

I propose a new hub to be added: Phyrexian. During Modern Horizons 2, 225 creatures were retconned into having the Phyrexian creature subtype to join Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider . Additionally, there were a smattering of Enchantments, Artifacts and etc that ether have the Phyrexian subtype or create creature tokens that do. Thanks to this retcon I now have a deck that has a Phyrexian tribal theme. For your reference, below is a full list of spells that were affected by WotC's Phyrexian errata.

personally, I have been wanting to build an aryel commander deck myself, so here are some suggestions: Order of Yawgmoth out, Hero of Bladehold in. reason: hero of bladehold is just better, same mana cost but in white and a lot more impactful, wether it be turn 3 or turn 6 she is still good. Disrupting Scepter out, Shadowspear in. reason: its shadowspear, helps with hexproof and indestructible allowing aryel to blow up stuff

some other good, yet cheap knight cards to include: Drogskol Cavalry , Bloodcrazed Paladin , Belle of the Brawl , Basri's Lieutenant , Kabira Vindicator , Knight of the White Orchid , Knights of the Black Rose , Lena, Selfless Champion , Liliana's Standard Bearer , Livio, Oathsworn Sentinel , Paladin of Atonement , Silverwing Squadron , Vona, Butcher of Magan , etc.

DrukenReaps on Saskia Deckbuilding Directions?

I was actually just thinking about her the other night because I'm getting the Secret Lair that she will be in. I think the best route to make use of her is things that trigger on damage. Some of those legends are a good start but if you don't mind infect it would be great with her. Lifelink, double strike, and trample are all "nicer" keywords that people get less upset by. True Conviction is high on the CMC but potentially every bit as devastating as Triumph of the Hordes.

Some good cards with on damage triggers Charnelhoard Wurm, Stigma Lasher, Soltari Visionary, Phantom Nishoba, Order of Yawgmoth, and Hypnotic Specter. These triggers are on damage so with Saskia in play they go off twice.

Angel of Deliverance is a maybe. I don't like the cost or the hoop but the effect is strong...

Avenging Druid is interesting but maybe Hunting Cheetah is less painful? Depends on if you do any grave stuff.

Otherwise I like the Sunforger plan. A lot of combat tricks can be had here. Though Sunforger is usually only a piece of a deck and not the only thing going on in it.

Two things right off the bat:

  • You need to run more lands, 32 is way too few even for a mono-color deck. Bump it up to at least 36, personally I would run closer to 38.

  • You're running some creatures that just aren't that great in EDH, namely: Diregraf Ghoul, Highborn Ghoul, Order of Yawgmoth, Shambling Ghoul, and Walking Corpse. While cheap, they're mostly vanilla, low-power creatures which won't get you very far.

As far as upgrades go, some great cards that I didn't see on your list are: Cryptbreaker, Graveborn Muse, Lord of the Accursed, Plague Belcher, and Shepherd of Rot. These cards have more relevant abilities and are Zombie tribal staples.

Something else to consider is running the mono-black mana package since you are able. While not really a budget option, all mono-black decks can substantially benefit from its inclusion.

I need some help deciding to remove some cards to make it 100 cards commander legal, it’s 105 right now.

Throw me some ideas to add or replace cards too. Feel free to criticize me, tell me if there should be changes. First time really trying to put a deck together. I think I’m having mana and creature cost issues? I’m not sure? Thanks!

You want a deck that will remove the opponents deck while it controls what they’re doing and steadily building a zombie swarm?

A couple important red zombies will be Neheb, the Eternal and Wildfire Eternal. You could play Sedris, the Traitor King to bring stuff back on the cheap, and even Liliana's Reaver, Siren of the Silent Song, Order of Yawgmoth, and Slavering Nulls. All these guys getting through will be made easier if you have Zombie Master and Graf Harvest too. Undead Alchemist can make more zombies while they eat all the brains too...

Urgoros, the Empty One seems to do a useful thing, and there are a lot of specters from Blizzard Specter and Blazing Specter to Sedraxis Specter, Liliana's Specter and Hypnotic Specter.

Then you can play planeswalkers like Liliana, Death's Majesty to reanimate stuff repeatedly and the one Bolas does it too. Wrexial, the Risen Deep, Sepulchral Primordial and Diluvian Primordial are all good, and even Molten Primordial can be if you have a way to sacrifice the stuff you steal like Grimgrin, Corpse-Born, Ghoulcaller Gisa, Carrion Feeder or Corpse Harvester.

Tyrant-Thanatos on Does Quicksilver Dagger trigger player …

Not in this case, no. Cephalid Constable very specifically says "deals combat damage to a player". Quicksilver Dagger will cause the constable to deal damage to a player, but effect-based damage is never combat damage.

If you were to put Quicksilver Dagger on something like Order of Yawgmoth, which specifically reads "deals damage to a player", then it would work.
