This deck was born from brewing this mardu aristocrats deck with Edgar Markov (which still looks super fun to me.) As I was tinkering with it I wondered what other commanders might be viable for similar decks. I've built other sacrifice value decks before, but something about Mardu colors seemed new and exciting. Also, the lack of green and blue would be a nice check on the deck's power level for "serious-casual" EDH.

I first brewed mardu tymna with akiri, remembered tymna is pretty fun and pretty strong, and started exploring all the different options for her (which are a lot, because partner means you can choose any 1 or 2 colors to add.)

I tried to keep the deck's mana focused on WB and splash a third color to avoid any issues, and to support all the BBB mana costs. If there's a fourth color, like with Kraum, it's just a tiny splash.

Kraum, Ludevic's Opus: I currently have the deck built as Mardu (WBR) with Kraum as the other partner. Drawing cards is never bad. Opens up blue reanimation targets. Also Breya, Etherium Shaper in the 98 is nice.

Kraum also has the option to be built as Esper (WUB); see the below blurb for Ishai/Silas. Trying to support true 4-color (where we plan of having access to any/all of 4 colors by turn 3) is also extremely tempting and extremely greedy

Other partner options:

Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker/ Silas Renn, Seeker Adept : Swaps out cheap red looting for Careful Study and Frantic Search. Gain access to strong blue cards like Looter il-Kor , Baleful Strix, Glen Elendra Archmage, maybe even time warps. The artifact/enchantment removal becomes a bit worse.

Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder : Access to a decent chunk of life gain from the command zone is actually really useful, especially since this deck deals ~15 damage to itself in an average game. Double strike can help close out games in a more timely fashion. Breya is replaced with Marsh Flitter .

Akiri, Line-Slinger: Sac fodder for 2 mana ready whenever it's needed! Also can enable the opening of turn 1 creature, turn 2 akiri, turn 3 tymna & swing & draw 2

Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa/Reyhan, Last of the Abzan: Sidar's evasion can let us poke through for cards on some boards. Reyhan's giving tymna +3/+3 is cute since she has lifelink. Loses the red looting spells, but gains 1cmc mana dorks. Some combination of Nature's Claim/Reclamation Sage/Caustic Caterpillar/Natural State replace the red removal. Falkenrath Aristocrat probably becomes Varolz, the Scar-Striped. Nature's Will seems good. Also I am a huge fan of Khalni Garden in sacrifice decks. It's also worth noting that the deck could be built with green as one of the main colors to support mana dorks, yet still support BBB costs through green's ability to tutor Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.
