Marsh Flitter Discussion

JacobBaekgaard on Aren't Goblins Supposed To Be Red

@ThisIsTheSix: The deck is looking better! :) And I am happy to see that you added Marsh Flitter - It is a great card indeed, and it also has the benefit of having its CMC lowered by Frogtosser Banneret. Now I simply have to make a similar deck for shits'n'giggles ;) Cheers!

Logics & HurricaneZach I was already thinking to add that card. I'll look into it to do what I can swap it for ;) No offense HurricaneZach but im trying to avoid red (goblin) creatures in this deck. Im trying to be different from other :)

JacobBaekgaard I really like Marsh Flitter although it isn't a goblin it would fit in here! Didnt know about the difference between Shambling Goblin & Festering Goblin so thanks for clearing that out ;) About Nantuko Husk I'll rather play Marsh Flitter because it's better in my opinion.

Thanks again everyone for helping! Ik really appreciate it!

I've played B Goblins and R Goblins for ages. Been wanting to mix them for ages - seems like a lot of fun!

Marsh Flitter (for the theme of the deck) would be a great addition in helping the revolt trigger of Fatal Push for a low cost of sacrificing a Token, Festering Goblin or a Shambling Goblin and, perhaps, getting rid of a creature on the opponents side of the battlefield in the process. That is, of course, if you run 4x Shambling Goblin instead of 4x Festering Goblin; since Festering Goblin needs a legal target that can, accidentally, hit your own creatures if the opponent has none (there is no "may" in the the rules text) - whereas Shambling Goblin's ability fizzles if there is no legal target (if the opponent has no creatures the ability can't trigger).

However, there is a cheaper alternative in Nantuko Husk which can easily pump itself out of reach of various burn spells by sacrificing one or more creatures. Though it sadly isn't a goblin nor is "goblin" in its rules text :(

The above mentioned sacrifice engines does synergize quite well with the cards HurricaneZach suggested as well (especially with Wort, Boggart Auntie and Boggart Shenanigans)

TIP: (If possible, wanted or necessary) - as you cast Boggart Mob aim its Champion ability at Boggart Harbinger as it will make Boggart Harbinger's ability trigger again as Boggart Mobb leaves the battlefield :)

first off, i would argue that cards like Stinkdrinker Bandit and Oona's Blackguard are rogue lords and have the adaptive lords Adaptive Automaton and Metallic Mimic

next on to suggestions, while its not a rogue per say, Corrosive Mentor could add an extra punch to your non-evasive deck, making opponents wary of blocking with larger creatures.

Deathcult Rogue, Gonti, Lord of Luxury, Inkfathom Infiltrator, Marsh Flitter(comboes especially well with oona's black guard) and Zulaport Cutthroat all have their uses and can be powerful in the right variant of mono-black rogues. (although i think you get the most power from u/b artifact rogues)

Merrow Bonegnawer seems like especially good sb tech against dredge/delirium/graveyard type decks.

Hey I like the deck, had a couple questions about a few cards..How do you like Requiem Angel? Seems really good, but I have a hard time justifying 6 mana, it's totally a second commander though. Also I know I should run Marsh Flitter, Recruiter of the Guard, Stoneforge Mystic , and probably Ophiomancer but am having trouble moving the slots. I'm more of a fan of running Sun Titan and Animate Dead than running Unearth because you can always get two creatures (sometimes three) with the combo.

Hey, what about Conspiracy? Then Ophiomancer, Sengir Autocrat, Marsh Flitter, and Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder make rats! :P There's also that demon that makes harpys.

Hi dwei, good to see another Teysa player!

Right off the bat I'd say get a Viscera Seer, sac effects are very important to keep your guys from being exiled. Then get Ophiomancer, Reassembling Skeleton and Marsh Flitter. These all either make more creatures of come back easily.

Smothering Abomination is an all star that gives huge card advantage and triggers Teysa.

There are some budget lands you can pick up as well, and Urborg if you can afford it.

Removal should be 4cmc board wipes and cheap spot removal. Swords to Plowshares and Path to Exile come to mind first.

Here is my list for reference: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/teysas-sac-circus/

Vela can combo with three other cards for infinite unblockable damage plus infinite 1/1 token creatures. Ashnod's Altar, Nim Deathmantle, Marsh Flitter

Play marsh flitter and get the two extra 1/1s. Sacrifice one 1/1 and the marsh flitter using ashnod's alter. You get 4 mana back from the alter which you use to activate nim deathmantle and bring the marsh flitter back spawning more 1/1s and then you repeated as much as you want.
