Cards like Far / Away, Consign / Oblivion, Connive / Concoct, Discovery / Dispersal, Rags / Riches, and Spite / Malice are nice since you get the flexibility of the two spells on one card plus the fact the the card's CMC is the total CMC of both spells.

Interesting deck. Have you considered Varina, Lich Queen as the general? She costs less than Oloro and she digs through the deck faster since her loot effect can be magnified by making zombies.

Saw this in the Help! section and decided to help.

Some suggestions: The Cauldron of Eternity, Connive / Concoct, more ramp cards. Creatures you control probably aren't going to be dying, so Cauldron will be pretty good bringing back big cards, thus comboing with Terror of the Peaks.

By the way, I have a pretty decent combo/deck idea for M21 standard that you are free to make a deck with and post it - a Radha, Heart of Keld land deck. (I have a feeling that Zendikar Rising is going to have the Landfall mechanic, so if it does, this deck will be awesome.) Here are the main cards required for it: 4x Radha, Heart of Keld, 4x Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath, 4x Risen Reef, 2x Cavalier of Thorns, 4x Growth Spiral, any number of Embercleaves.

I absolutely agree that a deck should not be built around one single card, and i propably would include Leyline of the Void. I am not quite sure about Grafdigger's Cage, because I wouldn't want to hinder effects that work well with Ground Seal, but still reanimate (i was thinking to use Gruesome Menagerie or Connive / Concoct perhaps, as i think they don't target up to resolution and are therefore unaffected). But up to now, i haven't found a combination of creatures for Gruesome Menagerie to make it worthwhile.

Btw. does Animate Dead work with Ground Seal? On the one hand it has to have a target, on the other hand it doesn't say it targets a creature.

As for the deck, i was thinking about a control plan that eventually wins as soon as it generates infinite mana, either with Tasigur, the Golden Fang or with a Seasons Past+Tutor loop as a backup to then loop cards like Reality Shift to win.

I like combo as a wincondition and a playstile and i don't mind going a little on the competitive side, but i always want to have synergy in the things i am doing and i want the deck to feel unique.

I am a little curious you added Emergent Ultimatum to your List. Is there a pile that goes with it? I suppose it is a win somehow with Thassa's Oracle? I am still trying to figure out what combination of creatures goes with it (i am trying to make it work with creatures to perhaps be able to use Defense of the Heart as an alternative way to set the combo in play). For me, it would be enough if it generates infinite colored mana, from there i think there will be a way to win (the same goes for Gruesome Menagerie btw.).

As you see, i am just at the beginning building this deck, but i hope you got an impression of some of my ideas and where i want to go with it.

What are your thoughts?

Okaaay, now that I've had a chance to think about things and take a look around I've got some more thoughts. Somehow I managed to forget the new Ashiok, Ashiok, Nightmare Muse, who's a definite bae if you go in for that sort of thing. Thought Erasure is great disruption spell and four copies would really not be too many! Mission Briefing could be an interesting one-of that acts as another copy of whatever you need, and at the very worst would give you Surveil 2. Considering how deep you're going on said mechanic you might want a pair of Enhanced Surveillances - did serious work for me at the set pre-release and gets exponentially better if you jump on the Creeping Chill/Narcomoeba train! There's also good interaction with Syr Konrad, the Grim who will drain your opponent when you surveil your own creatures, make your opponent discard theirs and when you activate the second part of Enhanced Surveillance. Nightveil Predator is cool but mana intensive, so honestly I think you're better going one further in Doom Whisperer or Konrad. Connive / Concoct is a beefy surveil card but probably better for the sideboard along with the other two copies of Deadly Visit and Unexplained Disappearance (plus maybe Doomfall?). Almost at the end now, but I'd add Drowned Catacombs to strengthen the mana base and perhaps some of the Eldraine land cycle, and even a single Arguel's Blood Fast  Flip considering you've mentioned how low your life gets!

Hier komt het hoor!!

Dubbele Dimir Infiltrator .

Als je kijkend naar je mana curve zie ik dat je eigenlijk topt op 6 CMC. De andere kaarten zijn kaarten die je voor minder gaat spelen. Dan zie ik op de CMC 7 alsnog Liliana, Death Wielder . Te duur voor de rest van je deck en doet dan te weinig. Nu je curve wat lager ligt kan je ook terug gaan naar 36 land. Worn Powerstone & Darksteel Ingot is naar mijn mening hier niet goed omdat je een 'lage'curve hebt en geen mana sink. Je hebt waarschijnlijk genoeg mana als je gaat naar een 36 lands.

De volgende kaarten mogen er van mij uit:

  • Birthing Boughs : Het is een leuke kaart maar het doet zo weinig. Wat je wilt doen is je mana gebruiken om de kaarten in je hand te spelen. 4 mana is te duur om een token te maken.

  • Connive / Concoct : Na een discussie met mezelf denk ik(/wij) dat je deze kaart voornamelijk wilt gebruiken voor reanimation. Op dat gedeelte wil je eigenlijk niet komen met dit deck. Je wil onder of over de creatures van je tegenstander gaan. Je hebt te weinig dikke bommen zelf die je kan misbruiken en van een andere speller is het een random bom. Ik denk dat je betere deze kan overslaan om meer focus op je eigen strategie te leggen.

  • Increasing Ambition : Ik ben een voorstander voor tutor's. Het is duidelijk waarom je deze kaart speelt. Ik wil alleen zeggen denk eraan wat je zou opzoeken in de nood situaties. Daar moet je zelf over na denken.

  • Liliana's Influence : Haal deze er gewoon uit.

  • Dread Presence : Het is een leuke combo met de fetch-ish landjes en Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth . Is de leuke combo genoeg? En weet dat Sander niet houd van 3 kaart combo's die iets doen met land XD

  • Grave Titan : Doet eigenlijk niet mee aan het deck idee. Is wel een sterke kaart. De beslissing is aan jou.

  • Ninja of the New Moon : Doet eigenlijk te weinig. Het is een grote ninja. Maar deze kaart helpt je niet op de meeste momenten meer dan een andere ninja. Hij is groot maar niet effectief.

  • Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive : Deze kaart helpt maar 8 creatures in je deck (waaronder hij en je commander). Hij is zelf geen ninja. Dus je kan deze het beste vergeten denk ik.

  • Sun Quan, Lord of Wu : Komt waarschijnlijk pas op beurt 7+ binnen. Dan is het een leuke kaart die veel voor je doet. Alleen heb je niet al genoeg unblockable of flying.

You are probably right, my main ideas regarding the reanimator targets are simply to slow. I have only exchanged a End-Raze Forerunners and Cavalier of Night against a Dream Eater and Massacre Girl maindeck. The first does a good job to support our gameplan by surveiling 4 and bouncing a permanent to clear the path for the death strike. Having flash does also help in this regard. I still like Lochmere Serpent but Eating dreams does sure fit the theme. Massacre Girl should help to reset the board in case we get flooded. Scaling down to singles as reanimation targets does offer a bit more flexibility I think.

My main changes to satisfy my combo and control urges are a Fae of Wishes and Murderous Rider . The Fae and Rider themselves can be helpful blocker against aggro to stall until we stabilize. One with high toughness and the other with lifelink. Having a a removal against pesky Planeswalker and dangerous creatures while providing a possible body in the cauldron is perfect. The Fae on the other hand can also provide additional discard, which is quite nice. Therefor I cut Eye Collector and scaled down Tomebound Lich .

But now onto my favorit part: the wishboard. While the Fae does provide several intresting properties to enhance the gameplan and guard against aggro, this is the real fun part.

Against plainswalker there is ElderSpell, Noxious Grasp and Sorcerous Spyglass .

Against aggro there is Cry of the Carnarium (although keep in mind this does exile, which can be counter productive) and Ritual of Soot . Also Legion's End and Witch's Vengeance are possible candidates.

Additional reanimators are also present to have one at hand when needed. Also I have put one cauldron in the wishboard to have it at hand as well as protected against Unmoored Ego for example. Notably I decided to test Bond of Revival and Connive / Concoct in the mainboard as the bond does provide haste, to immediatly get value even above the etb. The latter has juicy properties all around - surveil stapled onto a reanimator is great in itself, otherwise having the opportunity to steal something if the cauldron is already running. However, Blood for Bones is also interesting, as you get two creatures back and its one mana cheeper. Both properties are however somewhat more useful when the engine is already going and I would fetch it with a Fae, therefore I put it in the wishboard.

The remaining spells in the wishboard are just fun stuff. We have powerful ETB effects, why not repeat these on demand using Quasiduplicate and Teferi's Time Twist . You correctly mentioned the risk of accidently milling planeswalker, not anymore! I will definitly maul some poor soul with a 12/12 Karn, the Great Creator animated Cauldron. Ashiok, Dream Render is there in case the graveyard does not fill quick enough, also a security measure against Arclight Phoenix , and other graveyard friends. Flood of Tears can clear the board, opening the door for a hasty Forerunner, stuck in hand. Enter the God-Eternals is also in there, just to get a bit more life against aggro pressure or get rid of a creature, while providing another roadblock to stall until the cauldron gets going. You could also target your own creature to get the life and another cauldron in the body, possibly upgrading a 0/4 wall to a 4/4 Zombie.

To make room for all of these, I had to cut into the artifact theme a bit, running only 3 Vantress Gargoyle and Emrys.

Fabled Passage : Despite mana fixing and minor deck thinning, it does also provide a possibility to shuffle your deck at will. Although this might be minor, being able to get another chance of seeing Murderous Rider and creatures after the cauldron is running again, could be helpful.

I will test this list and see what I like and what I do not like. It should be possible to cut a bit of fun stuff and make room for a little sideboard for Bo3. I think I have been able to keep original spirit alive, while giving my own spin. Especially maximizing all my options just makes games soo interesting. I have essentially two wishboards with the sideboard and an filled Cauldron.

P.S: Do you have a plan what we could do against Grafdigger's Cage ? As real artifact destruction is not in color, I am a bit at a loss. With having the Faes, I could picture splashing a little green and a copy of Return to Nature would do it, alternativly Thrashing Brontodon could be reanimated, but only if the cage is not already in play. Assassin's Trophy and Bedevil are also options, but all requiere to splash off colors. An enemy Ashiok would also suck, but could atleast be targeted with the removals already at hand.

Murphy77: I have two one-drop blockers in the form of Eye Collector and Merfolk Secretkeeper . Thought they don't have deathtouch, these cards help mill.

Connive / Concoct reanimates Syr Konrad, the Grim in case he gets milled.

Clear the Mind has the highest potential of being added in if I decide to get rid of Kaya's Wrath .
