Hey thanks again for your comments on my primer :)

A few suggestions I have:

  1. Replace 2 mana enablers with weak/no abilities (such as Dimir Infiltrator and Gurmag Swiftwing) with 1 mana enablers (like Gudul Lurker) or stronger 2 mana enablers (i.e., Baleful Strix, Augury Owl).

  2. Replace 3 mana ramp (like Basalt Monolith, Dimir Locket) with 2 mana ramp (i.e., Dimir Signet or Talisman of Dominance).

  3. Soft permission spells such as Spell Pierce and Mana Leak are usually weak in budget/lower-powered pods because the games go longer. Some potential replacements could be Misdirection, Drown in the Loch.

  4. Cancel, Murder, Hero's Downfall, Perplex, Connive / Concoct and Rite of Undoing seem quite weak to me. Some budget-friendly cards I like that you might want to play are Curtains' Call, Portent, Far / Away, Discovery / Dispersal, Submerge, and Murderous Cut.

Good luck in your tournament!

How about dual-targeting spells, like Peel from Reality , Shrewd Negotiation , and Rite of Undoing ?

Also, hilarious name.

3> Ahhh I've been wanting to play with Obosh, the Preypiercer and Angrath's Marauders - glad you found a spot for them. While you're at it, you could also consider other "damage doublers" such as Wound Reflection and Fiendish Duo. I've thought about a Vial-Smasher deck with a White partner just to add Gisela, Blade of Goldnight.

3> I see you enjoy big monsters and X-spells here. Oh to be young again... but seriously, this seems like a good deck to play them in as you would be rewarded. Instants are your friend, as you can Smash Vials on everyone's turn! No Comet Storm?

3> I would be worried about Vial-Smasher getting nuked from orbit as soon as your turn passes and it's no longer indestructible. You'll find Heroic Intervention and Slippery Bogbonder will help with targeted Exile removal. You already have Destroy and Sacrifice covered I see.

3> I see some cost-reduced and commander-free spells in there, but you have a limited suite. While doing research for my thoughts on Vial-Smasher, I found the following might be helpful - list is just copy/paste, so it will include some White and/or Blue cards:

Yeah SynergyBuild, the value of Rite of Undoing on this deck is nonsensical... bouncing my opponent's Stax while bouncing my tapped vault, my opponents usually go "why is this even a thing?" xD

But yeah Cruise fits the same argument I told you about Rhystic, we need refills outside of Jhoira, so perhaps I Cruise eventually finds itself inside the deck again, idk if I can afford to run both tho.

I have checked out this list a lot, and believe that some inclusions have to be meta-dependent. Rhystic Study , Misdirection , and Rite of Undoing , mind telling me what made you include these?

+1 btw!

Hi! This looks like a really fun deck to play! I have just a few pieces of advice for you:

A final deck might look something like this (I'll keep the deck up for at least a few weeks)

Thanks Sinist3r.

I think 4 Set Adrift must be played before any bouncer, because I can't realistically win if i waste turn 2 casting a bouncer (after probably having already wasted turn 1, milling myself (Hedron Crab), holding spells (Tome Scour) or reducing the cost of a bouncer). Also, Archive Trap is dead against Leyline of Sanctity, so I am quite slow and surely unable to win turn 4 against it. However, I'm pondering playing at least a single Void Snare: costing 1 less mana means a relevant turn more to mill.

Rite of Undoing being cheaper is irrelevant: Hedron Crab and Tome Scour don't care about the single less mana, and a double activation from Shriekhorn is often followed by a fetch (5 cards total in graveyard). Also, being a bouncer is significantly worse than Set Adrift (this is a real removal, that comes is also against Blood Moon, Chalice of the Void and Tarmogoyf: Rite of Undoing can't fill this role).

Rite of Undoing's synergy with Shriekhorn is really too slow, and when it is relevant (almost never I think) the downside of Rite of Undoing being a bouncer backfires (they can easily recast Leyline of Sanctity).

Again, thanks for your comment and I appreciate you like this build.
