Maul Splicer

Creature — Phyrexian Human Artificer

When this enters the battlefield, create two 3/3 colorless Golem artifact creature tokens.

Golem creatures you control have trample.

Rhadamanthus on Tron Reanimator

If you're only going to play 19 lands then I think it'd be safer to lean more on the 1-cost landcyclers, Troll of Khazad-dum and Generous Ent, than the 2-cost ones. It's really important for you to be able to make the step from 1 to 2 so you can start casting Grapple with the Past, Malevolent Rumble etc. and make it to 3 to get your game plan started for real.

I see you have Maul Splicer in your maybeboard, I highly recommend a couple of these as just a good Pauper Tron piece (in my probably outdated opinion, having not played the deck for many years) as well as a good friend to Maelstrom Colossus for the trample.

I think Prophetic Prism was recently unbanned, so you can replace Energy Refractor and find space for a second copy as well.

Rhadamanthus on Pauper Reanimator?

I think Eldrazi Devastator would be a better choice over Hand of Emrakul. I used to play that in Pauper Tron several years ago alongside Ulamog's Crusher. I also ran Fangren Marauder and Maul Splicer but I don't know if those would work as well for what you're doing here. Greater Sandwurm could also be an interesting option for you.

Mortlocke on New hubs to be added

Hello legendofa,

I propose a new hub to be added: Phyrexian. During Modern Horizons 2, 225 creatures were retconned into having the Phyrexian creature subtype to join Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider . Additionally, there were a smattering of Enchantments, Artifacts and etc that ether have the Phyrexian subtype or create creature tokens that do. Thanks to this retcon I now have a deck that has a Phyrexian tribal theme. For your reference, below is a full list of spells that were affected by WotC's Phyrexian errata.

You were right in suggesting Maul Splicer zapyourtumor. I played some games against a deck that could keep up moderate aggro for the entire game without running out of steam, and Belfry Spirit only bought me a couple of turns of living. Maul Splicer is worse in terms of defense, yes, but this deck doesnt want to be defensive in the first place. I think I'll include a playset of splicers and get rid of Belfry Spirit s

Belfry Spirit has a lot of small advantages. It provides evasion and, in a pinch, blockers against flying threats. If game goes on for long it can be hard casted since it only requires white mana. Finally, Haunt mechanic gives it a chance to produce two extra bat tokens. All in all I prefer Belfry Spirit to Maul Splicer

Sekki, Seasons' Guide is not that good on its own, since its just a single target to be removed or bounced. The token producing ability is powerful, but its hard to activate without cards that make creatures fight or damage themselves

Belfry Spirit seems pretty weak for reanimation payoff. How about Maul Splicer or Sekki, Seasons' Guide ?

I actually made an entire deck around this concept that works surprisingly well. Steve Argyle is a particularly great resource for this topic. In addition to Liliana of the Veil and Chosen of Markov  Flip, he's also done Deadly Allure , Guul Draz Vampire , Naya Battlemage , and Night Revelers . Other notable artists are Jason Chan ( Deathpact Angel , Fires of Undeath , Kiora, Master of the Depths , Mayael the Anima , Maul Splicer , Treasured Find ) and Volkan Baga ( Elspeth, Knight-Errant , Korozda Gorgon , Stoic Angel , Student of Warfare ). I ended up going with vampires + knights and some other cards I included are Hero of Bladehold , Knight Exemplar , Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts , Elenda, the Dusk Rose , and possibly the most ridiculous piece of Magic art ever created: Soul Collector . Some cards that came close to making the cut are Angel of Despair , Bloodflow Connoisseur , Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief , Knight of Dusk , Magister of Worth , Avacyn, Angel of Hope , Vampire Hexmage , and Veteran Cavalier .

Other cards that I like (sorted by type) include Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch , Lyzolda, the Blood Witch , Kemba, Kha Regent , Sunspear Shikari , Elvish Champion , Gaea's Herald , Quirion Dryad , Nimbus Naiad , Dreamborn Muse , Mistral Singer , Shipwreck Singer , Siren of the Fanged Coast , Akroma, Angel of Wrath , Archangel of Strife , Basandra, Battle Seraph , Razia, Boros Archangel , and Ire Shaman . Looking at this list now, it's clear I've spent far too much time researching this subject.

mlequesne on The Splice Must Flow (Golems Tribal)

This two might come very handy cos they boost golems: Vital Splicer and Maul Splicer . If you like golems maybe you can try to change the parnter adding another color so you can play cards like Blade Splicer .

See you around, nice deck friend <3
