Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch

Legendary Creature — Human Cleric

First strike, haste

Unleash (You may have this creature enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it. It can't block as long as it has a +1/+1 counter on it.)

Each other creature you control with a +1/+1 counter on it has haste.

Have you considered Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch seems good in your build?

So I've been making an Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch EDH deck, and I've just finished it. It's my first time making an EDH deck from scratch instead of just adding cards into a pre-constructed one.

What do you guys think?: tappedout.net/mtg-decks/exava-edh-deck/?share=da215e1ebfbc2060ded3c2e1168604dc

What is the purpose of Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch ?

True, but I have had Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch in my deck and the counter never really did much for me with her. Maybe cuz she costs 4? who knows.

And yeah, keep in mind that arcbound worker only puts the counter on an artifact creature when it dies, which it doesn't look like you have a whole lot of.

I can see why you run them, but personally I never got much value off of those types of effects with marchesa.

Yeah Sower seems really good in this deck on paper. I just got cytoplast manipulator so I'll see how that plays out first and then I might also be getting a sower.

Your deck is gonna be stagnant if Marchesa isn't protected so I'd suggest Lightning Greaves to protect her. I'd also suggest Grim Haruspex, Disciple of Bolas and Sage of Fables for some reliable card draw. Your deck also seems to want to be aggressive so cards like Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch and Anger to have more cards that grant haste to capitalize on an open opponent. Also dealing with combat you can have some extra evasion with stuff like Profaner of the Dead and Pyreheart Wolf. If you want to delve more into the realm of taking other people's creatures then Molten Primordial would be great. Last but not least Marchesa, the Black Rose and Mikaeus, the Unhallowed puts anything that dies into a recursion loop, so another way to abuse that is having a creature infinitely die while Deathbringer Thoctar or Stalking Vengeance is out to throw infinite damage at everyone for a W!!! That's all I got, Happy Brewing!!!

If you're looking for flavor-over-power commanders, there are a lot to consider. Since innately political decks are... clearly off limits for you, I'll stick to more 'fun build-around' commanders.

Daxos the Returned could be a really fun casual deck. Especially creatureless! I'm brewing it soon.

Ezuri, Claw of Progress is a commander I have had tons of fun with. He allows for interaction on the board and he's far from invulnerable, but he can hold his own and there are a stunning amount of sweet 2-or-less-power creatures.

Najeela, the Blade-Blossom is a neat warrior commander. Tribal is always fun! Come to think of it, there are a million sweet tribes you could build, if you'd like me to go into detail that's fine but idk this comment is gonna be long already.

Nekusar, the Mindrazer is a totally casual deck that is known for drawing no hate at all!

Marchesa, the Black Rose is super casual and could be a whole pile of fun!

Emmara, Soul of the Accord tap shenanigans is actually super strong and idk what your meta looks like so...?

Feldon of the Third Path can hold its own and is also a big ol' heap of fun.

Karlov of the Ghost Council is a powerful enough commander, insane when built ideally, but can also be super casual!

Brion Stoutarm looks super casual and fun.

Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch could be a neat self-harm/aggro list if you want something a little mindless that still has some synergies.

Some of the partner combinations could be super neat as well? Idk.

Also if you have questions on any of these, everything I've suggested, I have a brew for either upcoming or presently.

Hello! So you want to convert your creatures into Vampires utilising your commander's ability, right? In this case you should look at creatures like Lyzolda, the Blood Witch, Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch, Blood Cultist etc. And you need Stromkirk Captain of course. Take a look at my deck Nobles of Innistrad (B/R Vampires). Maybe you'll find something interesting there.

MindAblaze on EDH +1/+1 Counter Deck Help

My EDH cube has a +1/+1 counters theme running through it. Below are a list of the legends I use in it to push the cube in different directions.

Animar, Soul of Elements,

Marchesa, the Black Rose,

Ghave, Guru of Spores,

Kresh the Bloodbraided,

Edgar Markov,

The Mimeoplasm,

Jenara, Asura of War,

Reyhan, Last of the Abzan,

Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest,

Thromok the Insatiable,

Olivia Voldaren,

Olivia, Mobilized for War,

Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch,

Elenda, the Dusk Rose, and

Vorel of the Hull Clade

It’s obviously supported with on-theme filler and not all the colors are represented here. White and green are probably the best places to get counters, and are slightly underrepresented in this list, but Voltron obviously fits into the +1/+1 counter theme well. Anyway, do what you will with this, and let me know if you have any questions.
