Korozda Gorgon Discussion

Grave Betrayal works really well. I'd also wonder how Korozda Gorgon would act in the deck, for something to do with your +1/+1 counters.

My first impression is that there appear to be two different decks trying to survive in a single library. Since you built around the limited card pool you already had, that's not necessarily surprising or bad. But if you are serious about making the deck work by buying/trading for updates, it'd probably be best to start by narrowing down the strategic focus. Zombies clearly have the biggest presence here and make up the bulk of the strongest cards. Therefore, going all in on zombies would likely be the easiest choice to make. They tend to perform best in mono black with high impact lords like Cemetery Reaper and Death Baron or in B/U where you can benefit from some of the newer Innistrad spells. Green can potentially work as well, but you probably want to incorporate some unifying theme between the colors. For example, since zombies often care about having creatures in your graveyard, you could include green cards that do as well such as Seed Guardian and Splinterfright. Or maybe you want to exploit sacrifice effects for your zombies and could include morbid cards like Gravetiller Wurm. The problem with the current strategy involving +1/+1 counters is that the zombies in the deck have no real synergy with them. They can't gain you a bunch of life with lifelink or insta-kill your opponent with trample or infect. They also can't convert those counters into card advantage or removal. They just sorta get bigger. Now maybe that's perfectly fine for the direction you want to go, but since you're currently open to the entire Legacy card pool, it seems a shame to not dream bigger. And in my mind, that means taking the road less traveled and bending it to your will. Zombie decks are strong, but they're also a dime a dozen. You know what isn't these days? Golgari counters; the other deck hidden in the current 60 cards. It's certainly less represented in this deck and is almost certainly worse than zombies, but its undefined nature also gives you more freedom. The idea is to abuse the strong abilities of cards like Corpsejack Menace or even Korozda Gorgon with plenty of counter generators like outlast creatures and buff spells. Some other cards I've seen in such decks include (in no particular order) Primordial Hydra, Kalonian Hydra, Bow of Nylea, Increasing Savagery, Champion of Lambholt, Mycoloth, and Hunger of the Howlpack. Other solid inclusions are golgari cards with the scavenge ability like Slitherhead, as well as strong basic creatures that greatly benefit from getting bigger like Vampire Nighthawk. Well, those are just some of my incoherent ramblings. I wish you good luck in your exploits, whether casual or competitive.

Also, the Paragons of all colors (i.e., Paragon of Open Graves, etc.)? Plus Carnage Gladiator and Korozda Gorgon seem interesting.

You may want to think about taking out things like the Trestle Troll and the Korozda Gorgon for more imposing threats, like another Lotleth Troll or more scavenge fodder. I have a similar deck in which I run 3 Slitherheads and 2 Bond Beetles, just for their enter the battlefield effect, which would help with your enchantments. If you really like Golgari Germination, maybe think about adding a sac engine to take advantage of the tokens.

I would recommend replacing the Undercity Informer for Viscera Seer. It's free sac that helps to scry, for only one mana. You could also have a couple of Bloodthrone Vampire, to make the choice of blockers a harder one. I would also recommend getting rid of the rings. It's not benefitial to GIVE the counters in any moment but death (and in the wishes ring, it is just bad). You could also replace Korozda Gorgon for a Retribution of the Ancients; it's a much cheaper way to remove counters in your creatures.
