Sunspear Shikari Discussion

Nice deck :)

Overall I'd suggest bringing down the CMC of your kittens. It will make the deck run faster and allow you to cast a cat and equip equipment on the same turn.

Great cats that have worked for me:

Adorned Pouncer

Sacred Cat

Skyhunter Skirmisher

Sunspear Shikari

Leonin Skyhunter

You can find my deck at: Arahbo's Killer Kittens. I know it's Arahbo but there is crossover on the good cats.

Hope this helps!

The deck as a whole feels good, but a little bit unfocused. I know you haven't spent a bunch of time on it so that makes sense, but I'll just make a couple comments:

What Nazahn wants, in an ideal board-state, is to have as many creatures as possible each equipped with a single equipment. I can't think of any ways to generate equipment without costing a card (Sram and Puresteel aside) and so generally we're going to want to cast a creature, cast one equipment, and equip it.

This sounds weird to point out because it's obvious, but what it means is that we can't get a ton of use out of tokens because our creatures are best when suited up, and that means we want to want to suit them up, which isn't the case for random 1/1 lifelinks. Instead I think the focus should be (a focus you've already somewhat developed) playing great creatures that are resilient and hit hard, that only get better when given buffs. Balan, Fleecemane, Oketra, Raksha, Silverblade, Skyhunter, and Sun Titan are great example of this already in your list. Mirri, Cat Warrior, Sunspear Shikari, Adorned Pouncer, Mirran Crusader, Aerial Responder, and even Lone Rider  Flip are cards you might want to consider if you go this route.

I know that the obvious issue with this strategy is that it doesn't work with your commander on the field, but if you can't cast Nazahn for whatever reason then reverting to a voltron strategy is so easy anyway that it seems like a low-risk to try and aim for the very high ceiling of his ability.

With that in mind, I think the tokens theme in the deck (which is already a little underdeveloped) can be cut or very reduced. It's an easy way to develop board state, but I think if you cut the token themes for some more resilient single-body threats and a green-based card draw suite, you will find that you're more consistent and synergistic with Nazahn at the end of it.

Your equipment suite seems strong, I like it a lot. Stoneforge Masterwork might get cut alongside the tokens theme, but other than that I don't think i have anything to say, you've pretty much included everything I would've. I really like infiltration lens but the anti-synergy with Nazahn probably keeps it out of this list.

Bastion Protector - strong or unnecessary? On the one hand, Nazahn can always use his hammer for indestructible. On the other hand, this way you can make something else indestructible. Your call.

Also Armory Automaton seems pretty mediocre unless i've missed something, but you probably already know that :P

I hope any of this was helpful, feel free to ignore. :)

You've got 2 Sunspear Shikari listed here.

Brimaz, King of Oreskos, Felidar Cub and Regal Caracal all seem like they should have a home here. Along with Anointed Procession to further the token creation.

If you play with other tribal decks, Obelisk of Urd and/or Hall of Triumph may be better for you than Coat of Arms.

Dictate of Heliod is good for a flash buff to all creatures. Spear of Heliod is not flashed and is smaller.

One of my personal favorite, but under valued cards, is Dragon Throne of Tarkir. It can work well with voltron-y token decks like this.

I'd also look at Godsend and Sword of the Animist.

To me, Brave the Sands is comparable to Intangible Virtue. Really depends on how many tokens you can get out, I guess.

If you want to further your life gain, Alhammarret's Archive and Staff of the Sun Magus might be interesting.

If you aren't set on ONLY cat tokens, I'd look at Raise the Alarm and Secure the Wastes for instant speed tokens, if you think you need that kind of thing.

Aside from all that, IMO, you've got a lot of land for a pretty low curve. On the otherhand, you don't have much in the way of mana rocks so 41 lands may be a good idea. :P

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx likes mono colored decks with lots of devotion.

I am kinda iffy about Sigil of the Empty Throne in this. If you can get out, you've only got 8 other cards that could trigger it and it doesn't make cats.

To bad Knight of the White Orchid isn't a 'cat.' :/

Cool deck! If you're looking for upgrades, Honor of the Pure and Brave the Elements are really good additions. Leonin Den-Guard and Sunspear Shikari both seem out of place when you only have 2 equipments on the deck, good replacements would be Ajani's Pridemate and Ajani's Sunstriker since you already have some lifegain going on.

You need to add more cards that are good in EDH, and add some ramp beyond Sol Ring and Pearl Medallion. My suggestion for cheap ramp includes:

Hedron Archive, Mind Stone, Marble Diamond, Worn Powerstone etc.

Other cards you may want to consider are:

White Sun's Zenith, Hero of Bladehold, Sun Titan, Elspeth, Sun's Champion, Mentor of the Meek, True Conviction, Swords to Plowshares, Return to Dust, Martial Coup, Oblivion Ring, Captain of the Watch, Thalia, Heretic Cathar, Recruiter of the Guard, Heliod, God of the Sun, Knight of the White Orchid, Mirror Entity, Mother of Runes, Emeria Shepherd, Bastion Protector, Oblation, Secure the Wastes, Austere Command, Open the Armory, Decree of Justice, Caged Sun, Obelisk of Urd, Dictate of Heliod, Shared Triumph, Elspeth Tirel, Secluded Steppe, Buried Ruin, Ghost Quarter, Rogue's Passage, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Kor Haven, Divine Sacrament, Bygone Bishop.

I would cut cards from the "Terrible" bracket first. They have no place in most EDH decks.
