The Goal

So I wanted to make a Oloro deck that wasn't just a pure lock out attrition/infinite combo set up. I ended up going with as many On Life Gain triggers as possible, and turned this into a pretty fun +1 counter deck.

Kill Conditions

Ramp

  • Bloodgift Demon, Phyrexian Arena are the obvious choices, since Oloro, Ageless Ascetic completely negates their downsides.
  • Jace Beleren and his later counterpart, Jace, Memory Adept function for consistent draw.
  • Duskmantle Seer may actually be my favorite card in the deck, and he's putting cards into our hand. Twilight Prophet functions the same, with the bonus of not handing opponents cards.
  • Tomorrow, Azami's Familiar is actually absolutely amazing in this deck. There is a decent amount of card draw to trigger it, and there is nothing in the deck relying on a draw trigger that this might mess with. Simply filters our deck to find what we need 3 times faster than otherwise.
  • Drogskol Reaver just draws a ridiculous amount of cards...
  • Slightly strange inclusions: Lim-Dul's Vault is amazing early to find the things you need to get one of our draw engines up and running. Paradox Haze actually causes a lot of double triggers, and allows our Mirage Mirror function with upkeep effects. Enlightened Tutor will function similar to Lim-Dul's in getting what we need quickly, or if it comes to late, we can find a Aetherflux Reservoir to instantly blow out the game.

Updates Add

I haven't gone about updating this deck for quite some time, and now I'm gonna bring it up to War of the Spark.

I tossed in a Victimize as some solid recursion for any of our key pieces late game.

Smothering Tithe because this deck has white in it, so why wouldn't it have a smothering tithe?! Seriously though, this card is kinda dumb. Still debating if I should leave it in or not... Leaving it in also makes me seriously consider putting in a Revel in Riches, but I don't really care too much for a combo like that, especially when it has nothing to do with the rest of the deck.

Vile Consumption has been on my maybe list for ages, and I finally tried it out. Absolutely adore it.

Gideon's Company is a strict upgrade to Bloodbond Vampire, and arguably an upgrade to even Ajani's Pridemate. I'm not going to argue with another big boi in the deck. Speaking of big boi's... Evra, Halcyon Witness is terrifying. Be careful when using her ability, as people can just burn you in the face at instant speed if you don't leave enough mana open to swap life back.

Sorin, Grim Nemesis is running in the same vein as Duskmantle Seer and Twilight Prophet, giving us more draw while draining opponents. Jace, Wielder of Mysteries is something that I've decided is worth the extra mana to replace Jace Beleren. Dropping him one turn later, more consistent card advantage(No giving card draw's away every 3 turns), and in theory, the labman passive could matter, though I doubt it.

And finally, the real scary card. Bolas's Citadel Oh boy. This thing. This is ridiculous. I absolutely adore it. Get out a mana rock or two, drop this on turn 4 or 5, and you just came very close to winning the game. Even late game. This is just free cards.
