Duskmantle Seer Discussion

Okey, cool! Then I would firstly recommend to take away four lands since (mathematically) you only need about 36 lands to have a good enough chance to draw them without drawing too many at any given time (also depends on how you shuffle of course ;) ). Then I would also again recommend to take a look at my deck when it comes to which lands you should play to up those a notch since there are a lot of lands that aren't very useful (especially the double-lands with no other effects) in the precon.

Other cards I genereally recommend to take out other than the lands:

Crystal Ball

Seer's Lantern

Adarkar Valkyrie

Conundrum Sphinx

Duskmantle Seer

Enigma Sphinx

Geode Golem

Jeskai Infiltrator

Loyal Subordinate

Loyal Unicorn

Magus of the Balance

Ninja of the Deep Hours

Serra Avatar

Silent-Blade Oni

Sower of Discord

Army of the Damned

Skull Storm

Cloudform

Lightform

So these are cards that I don't feel are good enough for the deck idea (casual/budget or not) or simply lack theme-quality. Feel free to ask if you need help replacing these cards with the cards you have or find cards that could fit the deck! :)

Authority of the Consuls is a good card since it makes creatures enter tapped and it nets you a lot of life in the long haul.

Duskmantle Seer is a good card to give you some hints as to what your opponents have in hand before the Sen Triplets trigger while also doing some damage.

Thalia, Guardian of Thraben will make all noncreatures cost more.

Thalia, Heretic Cathar is another good one since it makes your opponents nonbasic lands come in tapped.

Vryn Wingmare is another cost more card, also including yourself though.

As a general rule you need around 50 mana sources in a deck in the form of lands, ramp, mana rocks or Llanowar Elves type dorks. Since I counted 38 total in your deck, I'm worried about mana screw same as Nesmer2. I have an artifact deck with 33 lands but that one runs 10+ low-costed mana rocks which are missing here. Granted there are decks with even lower lands but those are cEDH yolo lists that aim to T1/2/3 win with combos and also run stuff like Mana Crypt , Mana Vault etc.

The PW deck Dovin is somewhat OK but very overcosted. Personally I don't like Sunbond , Cradle of Vitality and Disenchant . For the last one I prefer Return to Dust , but you can run stuff like Vindicate , Anguished Unmaking or Utter End (those can upgrade the Mortify too).

Since you are running quite a few creatures Whip of Erebos would be nice synergy with lifegain and it also offers some form of reccursion, albeit one-time use.

Duskmantle Seer can be replaced with Twilight Prophet as with the latter they still lose life, but you gain life and only you get an extra card.

Lastly I'd recommend a few personal favourites Torment of Hailfire , Boseiju, Who Shelters All and Sensei's Divining Top .

Hope these suggestings are useful to you, mate. Cheers!

The idea of revealing Enter the Infinite with Twilight Prophet is amazing. Revealing it with Duskmantle Seer, not so much. Although, Dusky is a wizard so it synergizes better with Azami, Lady of Scrolls.

How about Duskmantle Seer or Twilight Prophet? Both seem like they could get you some serious damage in as you get card advantage.

I started to play magic around 6 months ago, edh has been my format for like 4 months now, i used to play Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge before i learned that if she leaves the battlefield, i lose what i exiled. After this i started to use Marchesa, the Black Rose and i consider her to be my first Commander, i really love her, she's amazing. The Blade of the Bloodchief works lovely, so i will keep it. Dack's Duplicate is one of my best shapeshifters, and they sinergize well with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed cus i can copy him, sac for legendary ruling, return by undying copying another thing but they keep the counter. Duskmantle Seer* i use more to control my own life and carddraw, since it only happens on my upkeep i know i'm the first one to take out value of it, also it flies. I usually dislike tutors cus on my mind, if i'm going to play 100 different cards i don't want to just always go infinity, i'm build this to be powerful, cus the competitive aspect makes it more fun, but i don't want to archenemy my friends every single game. After i have this deck done, i'm going to build a competitive version of this, in a scale from The Command Zone,1 to 10, i want this to be a 6 to 8

what about all the cards that force your opponents to draw more cards making your commander super nasty Anvil of Bogardan, Duskmantle Seer, Font of Mythos, Howling Mine, Kami of the Crescent Moon, Mikokoro, Center of the Sea, Otherworld Atlas, Temple Bell, Walking Archive. with these you can gain friendship and then just destroy it lol.
