My take on Omnath, Locus of Rage

+1s are awesome, comments even better!

Game plan

  1. Early game: Ramp as much as possible

  2. Early- to Mid-game: ramp more and set-up some engine cards to draw more later on, be able to sac elementals, double any elementals you make, etc

  3. Mid- to Late-game: Play your first pay-offs! This is what we’re here for. Omnath is a good start, but really any fatty will do to start crushing dreams and put the screws to your opponents. Be careful not to draw too much hate too early though. It might even be best to play defensively for now.

  4. Late-game: burst onto the scene with a bunch of tokens and blast everything to smithereens. Continue to win on the back of the engine cards, control the board by saccing elementals or pseudo-wrathing, etc

Detailed plans below per category:

While ramping in the Early/Midgame you’ll have some time to deploy your setup cards. These cards will help you survive early turns, navigate the later turns and mostly add extra value to things you’re doing already:

Landfall generators

These cards are outside the ramp camp because they require some more setup, though they can do just that, too. They usually serve as fuel for the engine that is our commander

Notable absentee is Prismatic Vista .
