Might Makes Right

Enchantment

At the beginning of combat on your turn, if you control each creature on the battlefield with the greatest power, gain control of target creature an opponent controls until end of turn. Untap that creature. It gains haste until end of turn. (It can attack and {T} this turn.)

trippy_mcfly on Cumly Cube

Introducing Cumly Cube 1.4! Two months ago, Cumly Cube was updated to Cumly Cube 1.3, which was touted as balanced and without any notable flaws. There is no more insidious poison than hubris! Many cards remained that were too strong, or close to unplayable. Many archetypes existed in the cube but had too little support to ever be worth drafting. Many cards failed to fit the ethos of Cumly Cube. With 89 more cuts and adds, I am now pleased to announce that, this time, Cumly Cube has reached a final form! Perhaps a few cards are still too strong, too weak, or out of place, but the vast majority of the draft pool is now in an acceptable state. Any further changes to Cumly Cube 1 will exist as minor updates, swapping out only a few cards at a time. This means that there will never be a Cumly Cube 1.5, only 1.4.1, 1.4.2, etc.

Here are the changes, provided with brief justifications:

Nice. A few suggestions, given your new theme:

Hazoret's Favor is built for this deck.

Mogg Cannon is less powerful, but a backup sac outlet and cheap.

Mark of Mutiny is a good threaten for Greven.

Traitorous Instinct is basically Malevolent Whispers v0.9.

Treacherous Urge gets any creatures your opponents think they can keep in-hand until Greven leaves the field.

Varchild, Betrayer of Kjeldor , Goblin Spymaster , Hunted Dragon , and Hunted Horror will make sure you have a steady stream of creatures to kill.

Molten Primordial , Insurrection , Mass Mutiny , Captivating Crew , Angrath, the Flame-Chained , Conquering Manticore are all notable Threatens that are missing.

Auger Spree doubles as removal and card draw. Bedeck / Bedazzle does the same and also hits problematic lands. Nameless Inversion is probably the worst of the three, but it can be grabbed by creature tutors, so there's that.

Unwilling Recruit and Might Makes Right might not be efficient, but they will be funny.

Goatnap . That is all.

In rosso. 6/6 first strike.
  • Dark Ritual -> Non è forte come Mana Geyser.
  • Hero's Downfall -> Ruinous Path e risparmi.
  • Rakdos Charm -> Nessuno dei sui effetti è così utile, se non forse esiliare il cimitero, but then again... Bojuka Bog?
  • Dreadbore -> Murder e risparmi.
  • Vandalblast -> Costa davvero tanto.
  • Worn Powerstone -> Citadel of Pain perché la Powerstone fa schifo. Oppure Talisman of Indulgence.

Dico cose come:

For what it is worth, I tallied up every nonland card and recorded it as either a "take" effect (from play or from the graveyard) or a "sac" effect (which, obviously, sacrifices the creature).

This deck has 17 ways to take opponent's creatures, only one of which is repeatable.

This deck also has 12 ways to sacrifice creatures, many of which are repeatable.

I don't know if these are acceptable numbers for you or not, but I thought I would let you know what you are working with.

Also, since I'm a completionist, I added up the nonland cards that neither took or sacced anything. The result: 35. There are 35 cards that don't do either. I thought that was interesting data.

If you would like ideas for more take effects, consider Flash Conscription, Grab the Reins, Might Makes Right, and Mass Mutiny, which all work well in the deck and are all decent upgrades over the traditional Threaten text.

If you are interested in more sac effects, how about Bone Splinters, Carrion Feeder, Diabolic Intent, Goblin Bombardment, Hidden Stockpile, and although it is slow, Smothering Abomination.

If you're planning to fling your commander a lot, Command Beacon is a good way to bring him back cheaply. Skullclamp would draw you lots of cards by equipping before sacrificing. Razaketh, the Foulblooded helps you find whatever you need if you're planning to sacrifice creatures anyway.

Pitiless Plunderer could ramp and generate more artifacts for Atogs to sacrifice. Faces of the Past can untap Brion and other creatures if you have Arcane Adaptation or Conspiracy. You could also try Angelic Renewal for unlimited sacrifices with Sun Titan.

It might also make sense to steal opponents' creatures and sacrifice them rather than your own stuff, using cards like Bringer of the Red Dawn, Captivating Crew, Dominus of Fealty, and Might Makes Right. You can check out my Atogatog deck that focuses on stealing and sacrificing.

I definitely have a hard time getting her out AND protecting her, and Manabarbs will definitely draw some hate but I think it's worth it. As far as lifegain goes W/B is a lot stronger I think, so we gotta use that red for something.

I haven't played my deck in a free for all setting yet, just 1v1's. With the list I'm currently rocking I'm getting her out fairly quickly most of the time, but the real battle is definitely protecting her and finding a way to give her flying/trample/haste.

I'm rocking Gift of Immortality Favor of the Mighty Swiftfoot Boots and a Open the Armory to search them out, maybe one more protection piece would be good.

I also totally want to throw Might Makes Right in but don't know if I have the room.

Would suggest Might Makes Right Great stealing and you want to have the biggest creature on the board with Brion Stoutarm anyways.
