Rebullet on Counter Deck

yea Fabled Passage is fantastic. now looking at your lands it is much better, you are hard pressed to have a dead land in the beginning as long as you draw more than 1 in the opening hand. though you are running 5 cost creatures and you average mana cost is relatively high i would not go below 23 lands as a rule unless my avg mana cost was below 2.0. your avg mana cost is currently 2.64. there are some things that you can finagle to make lower lands work like cost reducers and mana ramp, but your deck really needs lands and neither of those options fix the issue so i would say cut some things.

second thing. other than lands your non creature cards are unfocused and detrimental. you have too many situational cards that can be dead cards in many matchups. when putting in cards to deal with matchups you want to put things that deal with many things effectively in the mainboard and efficient things that deal with specific decks in the sideboard. you also want to avoid putting too much instant interaction into a creature based deck. doing so can split your focus, sometimes you will have too many instants and no creatures making it so you can only play defensive. you should focus your mainboard to your strategy only and have only a few cards to deal with threats. 4 assassins trophies is more than enough. usually in games getting a single permanent removed is the difference between a win and a loss. you want to focus on putting as many threats onto the board as possible instead of worrying what your opponent has out. in this sense Cremate, Thoughtseize, Gaea's Blessing are purely detrimental to you in the mainboard. cards like Oblivion's Hunger and Inspiring Call do nothing to advance your board state and rely on you having a sufficient board state to function correctly. if you have no creatures out then they are dead cards. Abrupt Decay is really good but you want to cut down on things that do not progress your own board state, same thing with Riveteers Charm. Assassin's Trophy is the most efficient and versatile removal you have access to so you should focus that card and leave the others out.

now on to domri. you only ever want up to 2 legendary anything unless they are your main strategy for the deck or if they have value from being replaced. domri is neither. he is there for utility. this logic also applies for large costed creatures. if you have big mana cost things then you will likely draw more if you have more, making them dead draws until you have the ability to cast them. Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch and Kalonian Hydra are much to costly for an aggro deck to have 4 of them. you should cut them down to 1 or 2 so that your early game doesnt suffer.

now that i look at this closer you have nothing that "produces counters" for your creatures. all your creatures produce a set and then continue, the only one who really produces counters is Kalonian Hydra and that is very inefficent. your board without a kalonian hydra cannot grow beyond their own scope. you should look into putting in some counter producers like Hangarback Walker, Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, The Ozolith (kinda counts), Dreadhorde Butcher etc. things that have a way to continuously get counters without limiting it like with evolve.

Absolutely Kaweiwu!

I did have BBE in some of the early versions of the deck. The main reason is that there are better 4-drops and even a 5-drop that are strong finishers. Olivia Voldaren being the best of those. Also, with Riveteers Charm in the deck, it could be a bad hit off BBE as the most common mode choice is the second one.

You could definitely tweak the list by running 3-4 copies of Bloodbraid Elf, a playset of Nissa, Voice of Zendikar as the only planeswalker in the deck (Maybe keeping a single Liliana, the Last Hope, Domri, Anarch of Bolas or even Grist, the Hunger Tide), and really focus on the +1/+1 Counters plan with Bloodhall Ooze.

As the deck is now, there are several lines to victory:
Combat damage (Most common)
Ultimate Sorin the Mirthless
Posion Counters with Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon
Endless Zombies with Liliana, the Last Hope

By cutting the 4+ MV cards for Bloodbraid Elf, the deck loses 2 win conditions. You could still run the higher MV cards, but risk cascading through them in the process.

Hope that helps a little bit. Thanks for the question!

I found that Eladamri's Call is a nice option that doubles as a dryad or titan as needed. It’s also a solid option in the side or main.

Riveteers Charm is nice for finding lands and Eladamri's Call lets me find specific creatures. Elvish Reclaimer from Eladamri's Call could be a roundabout way to tutor for lands too against decks with less interaction.

I also added back some gravehate and anti-mill in the form of Wheel of Sun and Moon since I felt I needed it in the current meta.

Riveteers Charm has been overperforming and makes such a great wish target. I almost feel like I don't even need a big fatty in the side anymore because of how nicely Riveteers Charm sets me up (pay 3 to draw 3 essentially). Its only real issue is the casting cost requiring 3 colors, but we have enough ways to get around that for the most part.

My sideboard definitely has a lot more space now, so I'm toying around with a few ideas.

Hmm, strongly considering moving Sigarda, Host of Herons to the main in place of Questing Beast. With Riveteers Charm moving to the side, and becoming a very useful target due to all the flexibility, I'm going to want more access to which makes Firespout a solid option that I can make space for.

Main:
-1 Questing Beast
+1 Sigarda, Host of Herons

Side:
-1 Sigarda, Host of Herons
-1 Anguished Unmaking
+1 Riveteers Charm
+1 Firespout

and I'll probably try to find a way to make space for more 5 color lands. Any opinions? I really do like Questing Beast but Sigarda, Host of Herons has more relevance overall. Its casting cost is a little difficult for what I wanted the slot to be for though, so I'm not completely sold on the idea. Another option would be to replace Doomskar with Firespout, but I'd like to have both if at all possible.

There's just so many good options, it's hard to squeeze in all the things I want to do...

Edit: I guess I could cut Necromentia for the Firespout instead, since that's probably my least used card.

I'm definitely thinking Riveteers Charm will end up replacing Anguished Unmaking when it's released. It is non-targeted removal, so it actually hits more things, plus Abrupt Decay already covers all the low CMC targets that may be issues. Riveteers Charm also gives me a wishable form of gravehate and also has a built in card advantage mode, so the swap seems like a no brainer.

The only real downside is that is a little harder to produce than , but I don't see that as a major concern. I guess exiling also eliminates some graveyard abuse, but that's more of a side effect than a requirement for the slot.
