Lightning Reaver

Creature — Zombie Beast

Haste; fear (This creature can't be blocked except by artifact creatures and/or black creatures.)

Whenever Lightning Reaver deals combat damage to a player, put a charge counter on it.

At the beginning of your end step, Lightning Reaver deals damage equal to the number of charge counters on it to each opponent.

DemonDragonJ on Flames of Darkness

I have replaced the two copies of Lightning Reaver in this deck with two copies of Perforating Artist, which reduced the average converted mana cost of this deck from 3.50 to 3.38, since the reaver was simply too expensive for too little of an effect.

I have replaced Diabolic Revelation, Elder Mastery, and Lightning Reaver with Archfiend of Depravity, Indulgent Tormentor, and Rune-Scarred Demon, because the newer cards far better fit the theme of this deck than did the older cards, which, unfortunately, increased this deck's average converted mana cost from 4.40 to 4.42, but that increase is deceptive, since I would need to spend a minimum of 7 mana on Diabolic Revelation to truly get a good bargain from it.

DemonDragonJ on Savage Destruction

I have replaced Lightning Reaver with Blazing Specter, which reduced the average converted mana cost of this deck from 4.05 to 4.03, because I feel that the specter is a more useful and versatile card than is the reaver.

DemonDragonJ on Fires of Purgatory

I have replaced Flameblade Angel and Lightning Reaver with Aron, Benalia's Ruin and Venerable Warsinger, which reduced this deck's average converted mana cost from 3.95 to 3.87, which is very nice, because, as great as the previous creatures were, the current creatures have far better synergy with this deck's central theme.

Updates!

Out: Pestilence - Pyrohemia - Heartless Hidetsugu

In: Repercussion - Blasphemous Act - Lightning Reaver

Needed to make room for Repercussion and Blasphemous Act which both have good synergies with some win conditions, so easy choice there. Heartless Hidetsugu just draws so much hate its almost a waste of mana to cast - but its still in the maybe pile. Lightning Reaver looks like a fun card and seems like it will fly under the radar - plus Fear will be tough to block for some opponents so the consistency of it getting counters should be relatively high.
