This is my second try at crafting a chainer deck. I'm not a great deckbuilder, but I'm also really excited to construct a mono-black deck, so I am hoping some of you will stop by this page to suggest a card and/or a cut.

What Needs Help?

1. Budgeting -- I need to cut some of the more expensive cards in this deck and replace them with less expensive substitutes. I don't mind shelling out for a good mana base, since that is something I could re-use in a different deck, but I don't know if I need all of these lands (like Ancient Tomb and Strip Mine ). My target budget is $300-400. Currently, the landbase is sitting at around $200.
2. Mana curve -- I think that I have too many big drops (cards with CMC above 3).
3. Card inclusion -- I am not sure I am running the most synergistic cards, and I'm sure this deck is missing at least a few mono-black staples. Additionally, I have too many cards (currently 105) in my mainboard and I need help choosing a few to remove.

Background Info

I have played only a small amount of Magic, so I am trying to get into EDH with Chainer, Dementia Master . As I said before, I'm willing to pay for good lands, but I am less sure about paying for cards that I might end up cutting anyway. Since I am still fairly new to the game, I don't know many of the cards, and I think there are better ones out there that could help me improve my budget and gameplan.

Target Strategy

Mono-black control with reanimation to recur important creatures. Probably not too creative, but it sounds like a fun way to play. This is NOT minion tribal, I just thought the title would be funny.

I am planning on cutting Extraplanar Lens because it costs a little bit more than I thought it did.
