Vivi is low cost control deck with low power spells, these spells are functional and are used to keep you alive early mid game he uses turn based mana acceleration to cast multiple spells at once to gain the upper hand. His spells replenish and multiply exponentially as he becomes an elemental power house mass casting multiple spells every turn.

Vivi is a black mage created in Dali at the behest of the kingdom of Alexandria after Queen Brahne learns of this technology from Kuja. Vivi is a prototype black mage specialised in elemental spells copying spells and exponential power. Early game however his spells are weaker, he uses instant mana acceleration and card draw to accelerate the amount of spells he casts a turn, When Vivi turns trance he may not have the most power full spells but when its 5 a turn he becomes a very real threat very fast. Vivi comparatively weaker to other mages he has with weaker spells, Vivi wins with quantity over quality, and this is accomplished with his trance although unfortunately it is very luck dependent, when it does becomes available the sheer volume of spells overwhelm his opponent in an elemental fury.

Initially, Vivi is clumsy, shy and gullible, almost to a fault. Often stumbling over his speech and lacking in self-confidence, he is afraid to use his magic to save his friends, believing himself incapable. During his journey, his personality develops and Vivi gains confidence and bravery in the face of danger with sad eyes and a heavy heart, Vivi is considered the most developed character in Final Fantasy IX. Originally intended as a soulless killing machine for a magical army Vivi gained self awareness with an innocence and pure heart. He is hesitant to combat and uses his spells mainly to keep himself alive against his assailent. As the battle Rages however he reaches and trance and his true power can be unleashed. Vivi has tons of direct damage with a useful tool kit and his high risk high reward hit and miss style of play is a very luck based, giving him a very fun feel he is very weak early and takes tactical choices to stay alive, however his mid game power spike can be dominating.

However at the same time it can be underwhelming and if he can’t reach the powerful high damage, his control is far less concrete than other mages and less apt at dealing with difficult creatures or situations, his defence is nonexistent there are a lot of weaknesses to vivi’s style so take advantage of his trance dependence, kill him quickly or try and dodge and out sustain his spells they can be high in volume but aren’t as powerful as others.
