I'd recommend Wave of Vitriol over Rain of Thorns.

Pelt Collector seems like an upgrade over Mold Adder as well.

Some tweaking, was playtesting 1v1 (will do multiplay tomorrow) and while the deck certainly performs close to how it was expected, it still takes too long to kill the opponent with Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir as the biggest creature in the deck.

Cut Eternal Dominion for Bribery. Without any copy effects Epic is too much of a drawback to be worth attempting and adding copy effects would require changing the nature of the deck so its out for a card with basically the same effect at half the mana.

Sakura-Tribe Elder out Kodama's Reach in. 1/1 simply isn't relevant and its replacement generates more card advantage.

Thran Dynamo out Leyline of Anticipation in. Cutting down to 3, 6+ mana cards (one of them which would destroy the Dynamo) makes dynamo relatively useless when taking the rest of the ramp into consideration. Leyline is just solid utility in any control style deck.

Mold Adder out Draining Whelk in. While its a huge increase in mana spent, this is basically adding another win condition to the deck. Mold Adder isn't bad but without evasion its not all that great either.

Mystic Snake out Cryptic Command in. Counter + Draw is almost always preferred to counter + 2/1, the other modes are just gravy.

Plagiarize out Treachery in. While Plagiarize is potentially very powerful there are many situations especially if you end up in top-deck mode where it is '4 mand draw a card', there are few situations where Treachery simply isn't the best control magic spell.

Clone out Phyrexian Metamorph in. Better card. Devastation Tide out Cyclonic Rift in. Better effect. I'll probably try to fit tide back in in the future but for now I'll settle for swapping it for a better version.

Addendum: I'm toying around with adding Empress Galina but so far it seems like she'd be too slow compared to relying on clone/control magic effects.

You may considerate take out Domri Rade 'cause the deck hasn't enought creatures.

A little suggestion:

-2 Cinder Glade, +2 Wooded Foothills, for improve untapped lands.

-2 Mutagenic Growth, +2 Vines of Vastwood, for better protection.

-2 Mountain, -2 Blossoming Defense, +4 Narnam Renegade, for early defense.

Move Mistcutter Hydra to Sideboard.

Good cards to considerate:

Raging Ravine, Llanowar Reborn, Rogue's Passage, Mold Adder, Young Wolf, Hardened Scales, Fog, Lightning Greaves

YourBoi-tman thank you. Obstinate Baloth as other anti-discard creatures is too expensive, 4 cmc is a lot for this deck and most of the times your opponent can choose which card to discard so unless it's the only card in your hand you don't get value from it.

JoshFox Dryad Militant is a great 1 cmc creature, annoying for many decks. Good against Tarmogoyf, Snapcaster Mage and Flashback effects.

Have you ever thought about Mold Adder in the sideboard against blue black decks. It can grow out of control if they can't remove it. Just a suggestion. (:

I wouldn't make them tribal decks. I would just pick a "commander" that reflects that colors greatest strengths. You might at well make the format modern as well if its just going to be the set 5 decks.

Here are some Ideas for my commanders and their edicts.

W- Go wide Odric, Lunarch Marshal, or Odric, Master Tactician with some tiny fellows that all have cool keyword abilities and a few angels

W edicts: Luminesce, Celestial Purge, Surge of Righteousness

U- Control Talrand, Sky Summoner, or Baral, Chief of Compliance. Just load the deck with all instants and sorceries and a few sphinx as win cons

U edicts Encase in Ice, Flashfreeze

B- Midrange Gonti, Lord of Luxury, Yahenni, Undying Partisan. just play a bunch of mean and treacherous things and sprinkle with demons

B edicts: Deathmark, Talara's Bane, Self-Inflicted Wound

R Tempo "aggro wont work in a 5 player game" Grenzo, Havoc Raiser, Lovisa Coldeyes, kind of aggro but with more card draw and removal with some good dragons too,

R edicts: Combust, Rending Volley

G Big ol' Ramp Rishkar, Peema Renegade, Silvos, Rogue Elemental, just get lots of mana, defiantly include some hydras.

G edicts Display of Dominance, Great Sable Stag, Mold Adder (I kno they're creatures but green gets an exception)

Coiling Oracle and Mystic Snake are probably my favourite snakes. Hooded Hydra is probably better than anything else in a higher slot here. Mold Adder might be sideboardable, Sakura-Tribe Scout or similar if you look for land acceleration tools. I love you getting your snakes shoes, but you might have gone a little overboard- some light power, toughness or survivability boosts would be welcome here- Slagwurm Armor is pretty close to theme and will help with those end of combat triggers.
