Chandra, Pyrogenius Discussion
Hello guys,My little brother recently bought the Kaladesh preconstructed deck featuring Chandra, Pyrogenius (). I thought about upgrading it because it's kind of "lame". Upgrades which I found on internet aren't satisfying enough and I (personally Kaladesh is WTF to me) don't know/play around with kaladesh cards. Could anyone please suggest some greater modifications to this deck? Going into modern isn't a problem as long as it doesn't get too expensive. Thanks for any advice!

Love the deck list. Looks really good and fun. Have some suggestions. I think these cards would go great with the deck. Chandra's Ignition can do massive damage to your opponents as well as dumping your entire hand onto the field. Chandra, Pyrogenius instantly pings opponents over and over and can easily make your big guys come out and also recast rakdos. Chandra, Torch of Defiance pretty much does the same thing but even better if you get to her -7 ability. Fiery Confluence feels like a must in this deck, 6 damage to each opponent with the option of artifact removal. Too good to pass up I think. With there being many ways of bringing creatures out I feel Purphoros, God of the Forge fits the deck very well also. Vial Smasher the Fierce easily brings down the cost of your biggies when rakdos in on the field, as well as doing alot of damage to someone. And finally Sorin Markov just...WOW. His -3 ability counts towards rakdos ability to make your creatures come out literally free. If they're at 30 life, you activate his -3, they lost 20 life. Those are my suggestions, love the deck though! Let me know what you think! +1

I like the idea of being really cheap and fast. However, with 16 land, you'll rarely ever play Chandra, Pyrogenius. But otherwise, I like it a lot. Possibly remove Liberating Combustion and Flame Lash because of the cost as well. Pyromancer's Assault is a good card for your deck, but you have no spells to draw cards so you may run out of gas quick and be top decking. I suggest putting in Tormenting Voice or Cathartic Reunion and Cryptic Serpent. With these cards you'll be drawing a lot more and also be able to pump your Enigma Drake like crazy.

The decks an intentionally made to not be competitive. The planeswalkers and their related cards just aren't that great to build around.
Chandra, Pyrogenius, for instance, is 6 mana to deal 2 damage to each opponent on the turn she is laid down. That is laughably bad.
I personally would not make a deck around them. If you are looking for a budget deck go to a prerelease. Maybe you can get your hands on some new cards that you can build around.

Pinkie_Satanas, I think Chandra, Flamecaller might be too expesnive, hence come out too late to be effective with the 3/1 Elementals. I would assume the opponent would be able to block them by that point, and since creature attack is not the focus of this deck, the Elementals could end up being duds. I do like her last -X ability, but it might be too late. For the same cost I think Chandra, Pyrogenius would be better because she can basically do direct damage each turn. Thanks for the suggestions!

I just seen this comment for some reason. That's awesome! I love my Jace, Unraveler of Secrets, he's straight up badass!
Here's my current collection of Planeswalkers, I know it's not much but I'm very proud of it and I love everyone one of them! I'm about to buy Dovin Baan, Ajani, Caller of the Pride, and trade for Ajani Steadfast pretty soon.
I also have a Chandra, Pyrogenius not pictured.

Hey thanks for all the suggestions. I'll go through them later and see what I can fit in. The main reason I don't currently have a sideboard is because I haven't got to playtest it at my LGS so I'm unsure what I'll be up against. But some counter spells could help for sure, like you suggested.
