This is my take on a Kaalia of the Vast EDH from several years ago. I havent been invested in magic the last few years because I haven't been able to afford it. I'm hoping somebody can help me work in cards and revise this deck to fit fit the new meta.

When I made this deck, I have to say, I had NO idea what I was doing whatsoever in terms of making an excellent EDH deck, but as this being my first multi-colored EDH, I have respected Kaalia of the Vast as the high calibur commander that she is, and taken the deck VERY seriously. To say the least, I am proud of my progress as a player in this game, and proud to serve with Kaalia of the Vast by my side

Criticism from /tg/ Show

-39 mana and 8 mana rocks seems like overkill to me, especially when your gimmick for a general is playing shit for free. I'd probably run 35 mana and 5 mana rocks for 40 mana sources in total, and use the extra space

The reason I did this is becuase I fish for wso many lands with fetchlands in this deck, and use c ards like Land Tax to get basic lands onto the field. I need a slightly higher quantity of basic lands in order to defend myself from cards like Blood Moon aswell.

I put Leyline of Sanctity and Witchbane Orb in this deck with intention to stop myself from being subject to board wipes like Wrath of God, or Damnation but the only thing that'll stop those is truthfully indestructablity... Even if I did have hexproof and I got Black Sun's Zenithed, I'd have no response, atleast with these two cards I can protect my commander and perhaps other key creatures on the battlefield. For this reason, I also STRONGLY want to add Deathless Angel

-Removed 1x Mountain, Plains, and Swamp. The reason for this is becuase this deck is WAY too mana saturated. I feel like I might even go as far as taking out 1 more of each after this change just to add mana rocks like Mana Vault or Mana Crypt. Remeber, my goal is to get Kaalia of the Vast onto the field, protected and swinging ASAP, but if all I have to place on the field are lands in my hand, Kaalia of the Vast will become useless. I either need more tutors (so that I can tutor for creatures) or I need to straight foward add more creatures to the deck. I think for now I want to try out putting in some tutors and seeing how it works. This will add some utility to my deck and allow me to search for cards and combos that I need in order to get it flowing more consistantly. I very rarely need to use mana after I get Kaalia out, becuase I'm casting creatures for free!

So, for starters, to replace these lands, I'll add: Demonic Tutor, Gamble (hopefully I will discard a land usually), and Diabolic Tutor

-I've got to do a LOT more experimenting with this deck in general ever since I chose to removed 1x Mountain, Plains, and Swamp. I feel like I am currently at a decent point where I can stop editing and start testing more. If I feel like I do need that LITTLE bit of edge on my mana base, I will gladly add City of Brass to my lands as my 100th card. I was trying to keep this deck at 99 cards, but I feel like I've found a VERY good formula for Kaalia of the Vast, and I think I don't really want to mess with what I've got here, so I'm gladly willing to break my 99 card rule and add City of Brass if I feel like I need a slight edge on my mana base...
