ALL WILL ANSWER THE CALL OF THE OVERLORD

Sliver Art

Hello, welcome to my decklist! This is a competitive take on Sliver Overlord and also my own original list. If you liked the list, please upvote and playtest to your hearts content. If you use the decklist anywhere, please give credit as i have put alot of time and effort into this list.:3

Sliver Overlord is a toolbox creature, able to tutor for slivers of all kinds. Slivers have also always been a very liked and very hated tribe for many years. As for my choice of making this the leader of my cEDH deck, its able to bring a vast amount of unique options, threats, and answers, all while remaining a menacing force on the field.

The Sliver race is known for causing destruction and being near-unstoppable weapons of war in the right hands. They can rampage through entire battlefields in their frenzied search for a new Queen. Left unchecked, they can dominate an entire plane with little to no resistance.

This is my 2nd iteration of the Sliver Overlord combo deck. The idea was to create a better, faster version of the original while trying to not lose effectiveness across the board. There were many cuts and additions in order to help speed the early game as much as possible, at the expense of mid-late game pieces such as Opposition Agent. My goal was to create a unique deck that would be efficient and powerful while remaining true to the spirit of the slivers. Unfortunately, i do not think slivers are in a good enough place to be viable as a tribe, hence why there are very few slivers.(im sorry my poor slivers)
The early game consists of ramping out while getting set up as quickly as possible, be it with Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy to add extra value to Manaweft Sliver or Arcane Adaptation to instantly provide Sliver Overlord access to your entire array of creatures.

Mid Game is generally the furthest you want to take this deck, ending with one of the various combos. To get here, the deck is equipped with many interactions to deal with game threateners and combo pieces. Fitting cards for this part was bit trickier.

There are 3 major Wincons available to you that you can choose to strive for based on your situation. Those 3 are between the following.

Gathering infinite mana to pump and kill with Walking Ballista.

Gathering infinite mana and drawing everything you need with Thrasios, Triton Hero.

Assembling slivers to create a powerful chain to infinitely create 1/1 slivers to win. This being the harder but most fun way to win.

There are many different possible combos and synergies to list, here are all the ones i could find and remember.

Check out my OG version of Overlord where i tried to combo off with Arcane Adaptation only LOL:Slivers UwU

As you can probably see now, this is not a conventional sliver deck, heck i dont even think i can call it a tribal deck. I will say however, my experimentation with using cards like Arcane Adaptation and Maskwood Nexus gives the added feel of the Sliver Hive's unstoppable influence, corrupting all kinds of creatures to bend to will of the Sliver Overlord. All in all, this was a very fun deck to create for me, and its a deck that has taken me about a year and a half to get to the current state.

Initially, I wanted to see how far I could push Sliver Overlord until its reached its limits while being a unique entity, and i feel comfortable enough with the deck in its current state to say i have achieved that to a certain degree. Of course, there are always ways to improve this, hence the maybeboard for new ideas. Hopefully, more effective slivers will be released to help the tribe a bit more, as i still believe Manaweft Sliver and Cloudshredder Sliver are the 2 best slivers at the moment.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my project, i appreciate all upvotes and feedback! Yes i know there are much more powerful cards to add, but this is a slow process and i am upgrading in phases.

Updates Add

After 2 years of seeing Wizards grow more aggressive with product dumps, i can no longer update decks as there is far too much stuff for me to look at and keep up to date with. Very sad to see what is becoming of this game that has kept me going for many many years, i have not supported the game for a year now and i will keep this stance now that everyone is opening their eyes to what is happening. i will continue making decklists and that is all.
