Good suggestions, unfortunately Survival of the Fittest is way outside my budget.

How are you planning to use Emeria, The Sky Ruin with only 6 Plains in the deck?

Vampire Hexmage is a card I like in a deck with graveyard shenanigans. It handles planeswalkers like a boss.

March 24, 2013 6:55 a.m.

EchoSi3rra says... #4

Well obviously I'm gonna add some more Plains when I add Emeria and some of those other white cards, I just don't need them right now with so few white cards in the deck.

I do like creatures that can sac themselves but I very rarely if ever play against someone with planeswalkers, but if I notice I need some counter removal I will definitely add Vampire Hexmage .

Thought Gorger is one of my pet favorites, and has a lot of potential synergy with Karador, especially early game. Obvious upside with an active sac outlet. Personally, I like him better (for Karador) than Grave-Shell Scarab .

digikid says... #6

You should definately add in Angel of Despair , Mimic Vat , Archon of Justice , and Golgari Grave-Troll those cards would be perfect in this deck. If you want any ideas check out my deck Karador master of the dead

EchoSi3rra says... #7

I'm definitely gonna add Angel of Despair whenever I get one and maybe Archon of Justice . The list is starting to feel pretty tight, any suggestions on what to cut for those two?

Mimic Vat is good but it got cut because I don't really need more ways to abuse ETB effects when I can just cast stuff from the graveyard repeatedly. Also I hated when it got destroyed and permanently exiled an awesome creature from my graveyard.

digikid says... #8

I'd cut the Putrid Imp I mean its good at being a discard outlet but Angel of Despair is way more powerful in my opinion

May 9, 2013 6:30 p.m.

EchoSi3rra says... #9

I can't bring myself to cut Putrid Imp just yet but I made some room and added Angel of Despair and Archon of Justice .

Spore Frog is nuts with karador.

June 24, 2013 12:54 p.m.

EchoSi3rra says... #11

Yeah, Spore Frog is nuts, but I already have the Kami of False Hope so I'm not sure if I need another one.

June 24, 2013 1:25 p.m.

guerillarage says... #12

Spike Weaver is better than the frog or kami, as you can use it multiple times before you need to reanimate it.

July 2, 2013 1:36 p.m.

EchoSi3rra says... #13

I would prefer the frog/kami over Spike Weaver because it's cheaper (and Sun Titan-able) and doesn't cost mana to activate. It's also easier to get the frog/kami into your graveyard if you need to make Karador cheaper or something.

Dredgey Dredge? At the very least, Golgari Grave-Troll ?

September 23, 2013 5:18 p.m.

EchoSi3rra says... #15

Yeah I've considered the troll, sure he dredges the most but other than that he doesn't do much. Dredging is a great way to jump start your graveyard but I've kept the dredgers to a minimum because dredging too much almost always leads to overextending into grave hate.

I'll be adding Ashen Rider to my Karador's H'Elesh Affinity EDH

October 22, 2013 11:16 a.m.

lolbotamy says... #17

If you want a dredge creature, besides Troll, that is multi-useful in Karador I suggest Golgari Thug . Great for early and late game.

I got a few dredge in my deck if you want to check it out Karador's Killing Spree.

nice +1

March 4, 2014 6:18 p.m.

EchoSi3rra says... #19

@neverdie: Good call, he is one of the few ways to deal with a Torpor Orb and is generally awesome.

@lolbotamy: I don't really like Golgari Thug either. He's no good if you don't already have creatures in your graveyard because he puts himself on top of your library which gives you card disadvantage. The body is also unimpressive, a vanilla 1/1 won't go very far in EDH (besides with Skullclamp ). Stinkweed Imp is better because it's a flying deathtouch blocker that dredges more and Golgari Grave-Troll is better because he's a regenerating fatty that also dredges more.

@switch: Thanks

So the more I play this deck the more I feel like I need more wraths. I'm considering adding Toxic Deluge or Kagemaro, First to Suffer, maybe both. Anybody have any suggestions on what I can cut to make room?

Would Grim Flayer have a place here?

December 4, 2016 12:06 p.m.

EchoSi3rra says... #28

Nah, I don't think it has a place here, it's a good creature with a lot going on but it has to attack and connect in order to get any value.

December 4, 2016 6:25 p.m.

Indexxical says... #29

Is Necromancy any good here? I put that in alongside Animate Dead in my Karador EDH deck simply because it has flash.

February 11, 2017 5:55 a.m.

sonalexander says... #30

Ive seen loads of Karador lists lately, lots of them use a Dredge engine to fill the grave, but one thing i have yet to see is Mesmeric Orb. Is there a reason why this isnt included in Karador lists? It seems like nothing but value.

February 13, 2017 2:30 a.m.

EchoSi3rra says... #31

@Indexxical, Yeah Necromancy is a good card, flash and has synergy with Sun Titan. I just never found room for it.

@sonalexander, I mean if you just want to put a lot of cards in graveyards it's probably the best card for the job but otherwise it doesn't really advance the game plan of the deck, it just makes you more vulnerable to grave hate. This deck isn't about dumping your whole deck in the yard, it's about getting value from what's already in your yard, and it's really not that hard to get creatures in the yard. If Mesmeric Orb was a creature I might consider running it but to be honest I don't run most dredge creatures because they don't really do anything besides put cards in your graveyard. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great card but this isn't the deck for it, I do run it in my Oona deck though.

sonalexander says... #32

Makes sense. Thanks.

February 16, 2017 1:56 a.m.

sonalexander says... #33

Another question. I am considering Seedborn Muse + Winding Canyons in my build, allowing you to untap and cast on your opponents turn. Giving Karador more value as you then get 3 additional creatures from the yard per round. Have you ever though about this?

I love a similar combo in my Prime Speaker Zegana deck. Similar principle, but i use Alchemist's Refuge instead.

February 17, 2017 4:40 p.m.

EchoSi3rra says... #34

That doesn't work how you want it to, Karador says on each of YOUR turns.

February 17, 2017 6:04 p.m.

sonalexander says... #35

Ah you are correct.
