Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter Discussion

You can't do w/b tokens without Teysa, Orzhov Scion. End of story. That said, some awesome interactions with her that I had in my w/b deck in its early stages were Skeletal Vampire, Twilight Drover, and Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter

Personally, I would drop Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter out of it. It barely fits with what yo are trying to do, and there are many cards that do it better.

Unless both commanders have partner like Ravos, Soultender // Tymna the Weaver you can only choose one creature to be your commander. Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter is the only legendary black white vampire, you could consider using him

man, I've versed and defeated like pretty much all of these commanders with a Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter EDH, it suprises me with all of these lists, yes i get they're generally what sees play in EDH competative pods, but they're still really easy to defeat.

OH MY GOD WE ARE GOING TO BE FRIENDS. I love vampires and everything about them, ESPECIALLY Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter. I have made a 100% vampire tribe deck for EDH and absolutely love the way it plays. The link is here: The Blood Arbiter's Verdict. All suggestions are in the previous decklist. You will have a blast with this deck.

My entire deck is Vampire Tribal, I understand the reasons for many of the cards in your deck because the power of the creatures, such as the Leige, but I went full vampires.

Hello again PJ, I am here again to give you my thoughts, I think that not going monocolored is certainly doable, but I think that you will need to use 2 colors to get the maximum efficiency from your commander, either Black White or Green Black, both of which are viable options for reanimation. For something that can be a bit of a sidewinder if done well, Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter can work in that format, though not as well as others. A better approach for B/W would be either Ravos, Soultender or Athreos, God of Passage, which I do enjoy, as I used to have him as one of my commanders, before I changed to deck to function around Karlov of the Ghost Council.

For G/B there are more options, as it has the more efficient reanimation (excluding mono Black) I still stand by Meren of Clan Nel Toth and Savra, Queen of the Golgari, but for something less direct, though still utilitarian approaches, you might be interested in Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest for a more creature-heavy reanimator deck. Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord can work, though with much less effectiveness; and I am not much of a fan of him. Reyhan, Last of the Abzan can function nicely with Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest with them being effective interchangeable commanders, but they do focus more on the creature side of things. However, if you want to have reanimation be more sneaky, I think that Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest with Reyhan, Last of the Abzan in the deck will be the best approach for indirect S+R, As making your opponents sacrifice their creatures, only to watch yours grow stronger could be quite entertaining, and Reyhan, Last of the Abzan would be insurance, to make sure your +1/+1 counters stayed on the field.

I am always happy to theorize, so if you have another question or idea, or you just want to chat, just hit me up!

Athreos, God of Passage, Obzedat, Ghost Council, Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter, or Karlov of the Ghost Council would be much better options rather than wasting a color. Oloro is a great commander but you shouldn't really pick a commander with a color you're not going to use. Don't get my wrong, the deck is still interesting and looks pretty good but I don't think there's much of a point to waste a color.

DemonDragonJ on List of Commanders by Home ...

Now that WotC's Commander products are an annual product (I still refer to the format itself as Elder Dragon Highlander/EDH, because I was introduced to it by that name), I wish to make a list of all the legendary creatures, or commanders, who have appeared in those sets, by plane of origin.

I shall be including both new legendary creatures introduced in those sets, as well as previous cards that were reprinted in those sets (which includes Commander's Arsenal), but I will not include legendary creatures that have not been printed in a Commander set, even if other creatures from their plane have been in those sets. I shall first list the planes known to be home to at least one commander, alphabetically by name, and then list each commander from that plane, alphabetically by name. If a commander is from a specific region or belongs to a specific faction on that plane, I shall list that region or faction in parenthesis after their name.

What does everyone else think of this list? It took a great amount of time to write this list, so I hope that you appreciate it. I would not at all be surprised to learn that I mistakenly listed a commander's home plane as unknown, when it is actually known, so please let me know if I made any mistakes, and I also shall add new legendary creatures to this list whenever WotC releases a new Commander set.
