Hey guys! As you may have guessed from the name, the goal of this deck is to take advantage of Sephara, Sky's Blade to achieve one-sided Wrath of God effects. I came up with this idea when I pulled Sephara from a box of M20, and thought to myself, "This would be a REALLY fun card with some board wipes." And so, here we are.

Introduction Show

The deck is simultaneously flying tribal, angel tribal, and wrath tribal. Of course we want as many flyers as possible in order to get Sephara out early and take advantage of her ability as best we can. In mono-white, most of the best flyers are also Angels, and there are plenty of Angel tribal effects to take advantage of as well, so it was a natural fit. The deck wins by controlling the board through multiple one-sided board wipes, while building up tokens and Angels which we can then buff with various abilities to win. It's an old-school "beats face" strategy, but with so much removal, it should become much easier to accomplish.

Early Game Show

At the beginning of the game, we have two primary goals: One is to ramp as much as we can, and the other is to get 4 creatures with flying on the board. Ramp is self explanatory, as many of the good Angels is the deck are high costed cards, and ramping will help us play them faster. To this end, we run cards such as Land Tax, Weathered Wayfarer, Boreas Charger, Gift of Estates, Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, and Smothering Tithe. If you don't own the more expensive cards such as Mana Crypt and Land Tax, you can replace them with some of the other mana rocks from the maybeboard, such as Thran Dynamo.

While ramping, we also want to be playing as many flying creatures as possible to get Sephara out using her ability. Her alternate casting cost ability is very nice, as it means we should almost never have to hard cast her, and commander tax won't be as much of an issue. The easiest way to assemble flyers quickly is through cheap, 1-2 mana creatures such as Topplegeist, Serra Ascendant, Segovian Angel, Selfless Spirit, and Remorseful Cleric, and also through tokens, for which we have cards such as Vessel of Ephemera, Spirit Bonds, and Rousing of Souls. With these cards, we should be able to quickly drop Sephara, at which point all of our other flyers become indestructible. From there, we can move on to phase two.

Phase Two Show

After we get Sephara on the board, our next goal is ideally to protect her from our own wrath effects. It's not absolutely vital that she's protected, as her ability makes her fairly easy to play again and again after we've established board control, but it certainly can help strengthen you against any countermeasures your opponent might have. Towards this end, we have a few abilities to give her temporary, or sometimes "permanent", indestructibility. Selfless Spirit and Spirit Bonds can both be used to make Sephara indestructible until the end of the turn, which is enough to play a Wrath of God or similar effect and have her survive through it. If we're looking for more permanent indestructibility, we have Darksteel Plate and Shielded by Faith, and at higher CMC, Aegis Angel and Avacyn, Angel of Hope. There is also Elspeth, Knight-Errant's ult, if you can manage to get that off.

After establishing indestructibility, we're free to wreak havoc with our wrath effects, which include:

• Day of Judgment
• Divine Reckoning
• Wrath of God
• Cleansing Nova
• Rout
• Catastrophe
• Hour of Revelation
• Kirtar's Wrath

And once we've done this, we move onto the final area of our game plan...

Final Stage Show

Now that we have control of the board, our goal is to make our army of angels as big as we can and send it towards our opponents. We run several buff cards, including:

• Cathars' Crusade
• Mirror Entity
• Coat of Arms
• Caged Sun
• True Conviction

...and several others to make our creatures as threatening as possible. We can grow our army in numbers through cards such as Parhelion II, Devout Invocation, Luminarch Ascension, and also using Divine Visitation with our various token-producing effects. Our win condition from here is pretty simple: Hit face for either 40 regular damage or 21 commander damage. You don't even necessarily need to get all the damage in one turn, as your opponents may be having trouble rebuilding after the likes of an Hour of Revelation that conveniently doesn't hit our creatures.

Combos Show

Here I'll cover a few of the card interactions that you may or may not have noticed. Some of the combos in the deck are:

1. Avacyn, Angel of Hope + Catastrophe With Avacyn on board, we can safely select the land destruction side of Catastrophe, and watch as our opponents lose their mana base while we get to keep ours. This essentially wins you the game on the spot, especially since we specialize in creature removal as well. They simply won't be able to keep up as long as we've controlled the board state enough before hand. This can also work if you've managed to ult Elspeth, Knight-Errant. I originally was going to run Armageddon in the deck specifically for this combo, but decided that it was too situational, as we don't necessarily want to be casting Armageddon without Avacyn around. Catastrophe gives us the option instead, which I think is going to be much more reliable.

2. Devout Invocation/Sephara, Sky's Blade + Rally of Wings/To Arms! We run various effects in the deck that force us to tap our creatures, including our Commander's ability, so I included two cards that can help us untap those same creatures if we want to be aggressive in the same turn. Alternatively, you could use the untap effects after attacking if you need to keep blockers up for some reason. They are also helpful after Convoke abilities, such as that of Triplicate Spirits.

3. Finale of Glory + Cathars' Crusade This is a fairly simple combo, but it can set you up for a game ender, especially with a wrath effect in hand. Finale of Glory can generate us a ridiculous amount of tokens, which will then buff all of our creatures tremendously through Cathars' Crusade.
