Having Yusri, Fortune's Flame as your commander means you get to flip coins and draw cards. It might hurt a little but we have some ways to mitigate that. The point of this deck is to take chances but who says we can't put the odds in our favor a little bit?

If you're worried about never getting to do Yusri's big move or taking a whole 10 damage, here's some perspective. The odds of winning 5 flips in a row, drawing 5 cards, and gloriously casting spells from your hand without paying their mana cost for the rest of turn... are the same as losing all five flips and losing 10 life. On average, when you do the maximum number of flips, you're going to draw a few of cards and take a modest amount of damage. This deck is built to have you flipping all five coins whenever you attack with Yusri and riskin' it for that biscuit at every opportunity.

I included several cards with lifelink, Basilisk Collar, Loxodon Warhammer, and Shadowspear. These can be equipped to Yusri, negating any damage you might receive from losing a coin flip. If you find yourself with more than one of these artifacts, Karplusan Minotaur is also a good fit. Witch's Clinic can also give Yusri lifelink until end of turn. If you're still worried, Cosmos Elixir, Sun Droplet, and Venser's Journal can provide a steady stream of life gain. Honorable mention to Whispersilk Cloak, which will allow you to take a swing with your favorite fiery commander even when there's a Blightsteel Colossus out on the field.

If you aren't fortunate enough to draw any of these cards, we have two friends that can search and get them into your hand: Tribute Mage and Trophy Mage. You might be keen on preventing damage with lifelink or life gain but there are some other artifacts that you should consider grabbing from the deck. Can I interest you in a gnarly goblin appendage? With Krark's Thumb, you toss an additional coin and ignore one of the results whenever you have to flip a coin. This will have you picking fights with Yusri, to say the least, but you'll reap the benefits with over a dozen cards in the deck that have you flipping a coin, for example Goblin Kaboomist and Molten Birth.

Yusri can provide plenty of card draw but so can I. And I did. Because card draw. I got you, babe. The additional card draw isn't one note, either. Most obviously, we've got Prismari Command but you'll also find Fiery Gambit, Wizard Class, and Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind. With all this draw, we have to have some things that trigger upon draw, like Chasm Skulker and The Locust God, and some things that take away hand size restrictions. Two of them have already been mentioned above (Venser's Journal and Wizard Class) but the deck also includes Sea Gate Restoration  , Reliquary Tower, and Enter the Infinite.

You're drawing cards, you're flipping coins, you're kicking ass... and then it's over. Consider this. What if it wasn't? Enter Ral Zarek, Stitch in Time, and Temporal Mastery. Yay! Let's be honest, though, you just want to flip five more coins with Yusri and forget about the rest. Enter Combat Celebrant, Moraug, Fury of Akoum, and Relentless Assault. Yay! Extra turns or extra combat? Both? Both. Both is good.

There are plenty of shenanigans to be had with this deck. Ideally, you will eventually win five flips and be able to unleash your hand on your opponents, but the deck is not strictly set up to win in that way. I wanted it to be fun no matter what happens, so there are several ways to play the deck and win. I've even included Laboratory Maniac and Chance Encounter. The latter might seem too easy with how I've constructed the deck but the only way to directly get Chance Encounter from your deck is drawing it, Enter the Infinite, or Gamble (which is... a gamble).

I really wanted to make something you haven't done before, while still having a lot of the elements that you love to play with. I feel pretty good about it and I hope you have as much fun playing it as I did putting it together. It's even Izzet, which I think is very you. And red and blue make purple >:3 I am also glad I was able to make it kind of silly, but you can definitely make it even sillier with some of the cards I have in the maybe board. You could also make it more competitive!
