Oona Mill

Welcome to my Oona, Queen of the Fae mill deck. You will notice there is almost no Faerie Tribal in the deck at all. For anyone who doesn't know what mill is, it means the main way to win in this deck is to make our opponent's decks run out of cards. Now most people for this style of deck wiould pick Phenax, God of Deception or another mill commander in dimir. I chose Oona for 3 reasons.

1, She protects you by herself. Sure Phenax wants you to play a bunch of big booty guys, but ultimately, it takes some time to get that online, and one boardwipe basically ruins you. Oona can be activated the turn she comes down, and creates a lot of chump blockers in the air.

2, She exiles cards. This is huge when coming up against decks running one of the big eldrazi that shuffle the graveyard into their library when they hit the bin. This is a card that you will have access to 100% of the time, and is able to clear then out for good.

3, She is a mana sink. A big problem I had with any of the other mill commanders is when you run our of cards you kind of stall. Oona being a mana sink means you will always have something to do with your mana. It also allows you to play a boatload of ramp artifacts, which are air in the other mill decks, but amazing in Oona.

Some noteable exclusions in the list are:

No Pili-Pala + Grand Architect combo. I don't want to go infinite, I think it's not fun for anyone involved, and I'd rather win fairly if possible.

No Basalt Monolith. This card goes infinite with Rings of Brighthearth and Rings is a way better card in the deck, so the monolith is out.

No Keening Stone. This card is slow, and will sometimes be very ineffective seeing as we do a combination of exile and mill.
