Maybeboard

Please read the updates, this description is outdated by a longshot; it's here let people know how the deck started out and how its still the same strategy at it's core. It also helps me focus on what I need to do and avoid adding unnecessary interactions/cards

Let me break this down for you.

Scion of the Ur-dragon (General)

Scion of the Ur-Dragon allows me to put any dragon card from my deck into my graveyard, and in addition to that, for the turn its ability is activated, it becomes whatever dragon it sent there. This allows Scion to use any activated, triggered, or passive abilities of that card until the end of the turn along with gaining it's P/T; all for the low cost of 2 mana. Now, this ability of his obviously doesn't trigger ETB effects, but that's not a problem.

Reanimation

Cards like Reanimate, Sheoldred, Whispering One, Beacon of Unrest, Goryo's Vengeance, Animate Dead, and Teneb, the Harvester are great reanimation cards for me to use to gain an advantage over the boardstate and cheat out big creatures.

Mana

For mana, I've got Sol Ring, Gilded Lotus, Lotus Bloom, Farseek, Nature's Lore, Skyshroud Claim, Chromatic Lantern, Mycosynth Lattice, Azusa, Lost but Seeking, Birds of Paradise, Oracle of Mul Daya, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger and Exploration speeding up my mana flow and fixing it along the way.

Counterspells

Counterspells help protect my combos and slow down my opponents game.

Planeswalkers

Not only do these planeswalkers do wonders on their own (which I'll definitely cover), but they distract the opponent from my life total. That in itself is extremely helpful. Sorin Markov is amazing in this format, essentially doing 30 damage in one turn: straight up bringing the opponents life total down to a solid 10. He also pumps for some Life-steal, and I can even take control of my opponents turn if I wanted to. Liliana Vess is the ultimate reanimator. I couldn't ask for more. Not to mention she gives me some tutoring. Sarkhan the Mad allows me to trade up any weaker creature for a 5/5 flyer (or gives me some removal); Or even allows me some extra draw; and gives me the ultimate finisher this deck can ask for. Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker destroying permanents FOR DAYS.

Win Conditions

I want to list some of the notable combos this deck has to offer and their explanations:

  • MoltenSkittles Poisonous OHKO ( Scion of the Ur-Dragon + Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon + Moltensteel Dragon ): The way this works is, by activating Scions ability twice after seeing no blockers, you're able to put his ability on the stack twice. For the first effect, you choose Skythirix. For the second one, you choose Moltensteel Dragon. Moltensteel dragon will resolve first, so you pump him with 12 life, giving him +6/+6, then you allow Skythirix to resolve, making the damage go through as 10 poison counters.

  • Hellkite Charger + Bear Umbra + Enough Lands: Infinite combat steps.

  • Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Curiosity : Infinite Damge/Draw. In a multiplayer game, You can kill off one opponent, and still have a deck to play with, and <40 cards in your hand to play against your next victim (Talk about card advantage, huh?) Reliquary Tower is also required to makes this as effective as it can be.

  • Mycosynth Lattice + Hellkite Tyrant , take control of your opponents ENTIRE board. All of it. Yep, even lands. This usually causes them to scoop. Or you just win from having 20 artifacts.

I thank you for taking the time to look at this. Please comment with any suggestions you have and +1 if you like it. Hope you enjoyed this!

    • Sarkhan Unbroken: Fixes my mana, gives me more dragons to abuse, and if all goes well, he summons my entire dragon horde to fight for me.
