A 2nd Council's Judgment could be pretty good. Going up to 6 removal spells is a good number. You don't need Wasteland in the deck. You're trying to go over the top, which means you're not trying to tempo them out by attacking their mana. And if you're building on a budget, then you can play Hallowed Fountain instead of Tundra . It saves a few hundred dollars.

I'd cut Delver to add 1 Palace Jailer and maybe a 2nd Back to Basics .

And Batterskull is much better than Sword of Fire and Ice in UW Stoneblade.

I'm looking to make a Kaya deck as my introduction to the Oathbreaker format. I really like what you're trying to do here. I know you have a lot of removal and board wipes, but something like Dawn Charm might be a versatile option to fog and to counter (and depending on what creatures you run and what wipe you play, regeneration).

I see that a lot of your exile effects target cards in play (other than Sin Collector). Castigate could be another good hand attack that's more broad and hits some threats before they enter the battlefield.

As for creatures:

Angel of Finality has a nice ETB and a pretty good cost/power ratio.

Duplicant as well. And the two combo nicely with Settle Beyond Reality .

Archon of Justice feels similar, but triggers on death, which can combo well with your board wipes.

Palace Jailer gives you some card draw through the monarch mechanic, but also puts a target on you, so I'm not sure if that works well with your strategy.

Stonecloaker seems really flexible as a surprise blocker, a bounce for another ETB trigger for a creature, or to loop itself to exile cards for three mana.

multimedia Thanks for taking a look! I love most of your suggestions, especially Congregation at Dawn ! I didn't even know a card like that existed, and I started to drool when I saw it! As for colorless lands, I had actually considered adding a single waste, and having someone else bring it up affirms me in that, and I'll probably take a forest out for it, I also like the idea of the talismans and the pain lands going in, though the panoramas have always disappointed me whenever I put them in my decks. I had never seen Palace Jailer either, makes a good replacement for stalker cat.

As for cuts, I wont want to cut sunblast or swindle. sunblast is great because it makes for great politics, and a great rattlesnake. Swindle is expensive the first time you cast it, but I can recur it with Eternal witness and lock out the entire game by having it pay for itself. I'd actually cut plasm capture first.

Hey, saw your forum topic asking for help.

Eladamri's Call and Congregation at Dawn are good instant creature tutors. Dawn is nice because it's budget and it can tutor for three combo creatures and put them on top of your library. Palace Jailer is good with blink. You exile an opponent's creature with Jailer and usually with this exile effect when the creature leaves the battlefield your opponent gets back their creature, but this is not the case with Jailer.

Your opponent only gets back their creature if an opponent becomes the monarch. Even if Jailer dies your opponent doesn't get back their creature and you can blink Jailer to save it from removal. If you have the monarch and blink Jailer you exile another opponents creature and can continue to do this until an opponent becomes the monarch. You become the monarch when you blink Jailer making it difficult for you to lose the monarch. The monarch is powerful in Commander; drawing a card at your end step. It's nice with Stonehorn Dignitary who can help you to keep the monarch thus keeping your opponents creatures exiled.

Yavimaya Coast , Bant Panorama , Opal Palace are good budget lands that can make colorless as well as colored mana. Might be worth it to add a Wastes that way Farhaven and Simulacrum can search for a colorless source. Consider upgrading your land ramp spells? Nature's Lore is a big upgrade of Rampant Growth because Lore can search for a dual land. Because you have Breeding Pool then Lore can get a blue source, but other than Pool there's other lands it can search for such as Vista, Scattered. Adding a Temple Garden would help. As far as land ramp spells Farseek and Lore are the two noncreature spells to play since it's much better using deck spots for creatures who land ramp since then you can blink them.

Because of Displacer the exception for noncreature ramp spells are mana rocks that can make colorless mana. Talisman of Unity and Talisman of Progress are two drop mana rocks that can make colorless or colored mana. Mystic Remora is one of the best sources of repeatable no mana cost draw in multiplayer Commander and it's good with blink to reset it's upkeep cost. There's cards here especially Brago that can blink any permanent.

Cards to consider cutting:

  • 2x Forest
  • 1x Plains
  • 1x Island
  • Rampant Growth
  • Grow from Ashes
  • Displace
  • Stalking Leonin
  • Sunblast Angel
  • Elite Guardmage: already have Blazer and Muldrifter.
  • Reclamation Sage: already have Autumn.
  • Spell Swindle: too much mana for a counterspell.

Lambofan217 I would say these two are interchangable, Fulminator Mage has the nice effect that you can decide when to activate it, but Avalanche Riders has the small upside that it hits basic lands and has haste. I just already had a sweet foil FNM promo Avalanche Riders and decided to put that in the deck :)

multimedia thanks for the suggestions mate! I appreciate it!

  • No idea why Command Tower wasn't listed here, I even have it in my paper deck, so added it back here. Thanks for catching that!
  • I like to run some amount of basics since I love abusing Solemn Simulacrum . I might indeed cut a plains or swamp, but they will make place for the new Canopy lands from Modern Horizons
  • Enlightened Tutor has been going in and out ocassionaly, but I might add it back in. I agree that Ravos, Soultender has been kind of underwhelming in the deck.
  • Selfless Spirit used to be in the deck but I was really unimpressed by its performance. Since this deck doesn't need to swarm the board per se, board wipes aren't your main concern, and I always felt like I wanted to recur something more valueable with Alesha's ability. As for Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord , I'm still testing is, as I do like the lifegain.
  • Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice is just a card I think is very sweet, even though it might not be the best pick for the deck
  • Palace Jailer is a sweet card, but I have been very impressed with Twilight Prophet , the ability is amazing (even killed a player once by putting Elesh Norn on top with Vamp Tutor). She truly shines when the game has reached a stalled boardstate and players are trying to wast resources to resolve it. You just sit on your Prophet and accumulate value. Sure the City's Blessing can be a minor downside, but rarely hard to achieve in EDH
  • I'm actually content with the amount of Aristocrats in the deck, I might replace her with Zulaport Cutthroat though

I was actually also thinking off Aurelia, the Warleader . Most importantly because I think the card is awesome, but it could help closing games in the late-game. What do you think?

Hey, your deck is great, but where's Command Tower ? Nice primer lots of work went into, it's well organized and written :)

Upgrades to consider:

Enlightened Tutor has many powerful cards that it can tutor for especially a sac outlet, Skullclamp or Reconnaissance . Cruel Celebrant is another aristocrat. Selfless Spirit is a nice support creature with Alesha and Lark. Palace Jailer can be reanimated by Alesha, gives you the monarch (your end step draw) and can exile an opponent's creature; that's a lot of interaction for a four drop. Yahenni, Undying Partisan is a fantastic sac outlet in Commander because board wipes are going to happen with multiple opponents. He's also a another creature sac outlet which is important with Alesha. Only currently having Seer as the only creature sac outlet is risky.

I don't think Ravos, Soultender is worth playing he's another five drop and his recursion is worse compared to Lark and Guide's reanimation who are also five drops. Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord is lackluster compared to all the other reanimation here because many creatures you want to reanimate have high CMCs which doesn't play well with his -X ability. Out of all the four drops Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice doesn't do much. It's nice that she can be reanimated by Alesha, but why would you choose to reanimate her out of all the other creatures? I don't think she's worth playing for that reason. Twilight Prophet has a powerful ability, but only if you have the city's blessing which without a token strategy is slow. I'm not a fan of Phyrexian Arena in Commander it's too slow. I think you're much better off getting draw from creatures with Alesha especially with Skullclamp . Good luck with your deck.

Also, I haven't found much success with Brightling , I think Palace Jailer may be a better fit for the list.
