Played this at TCG Player Gold event on Saturday Feb 15th, went 3/3 the deck had issues against GR Monsters, Bant Super Friends and Maze's End, It performed well against, Esper Control, Mono Blue Devotion, and a Blue White Midrange/Heroic Type deck, The hiccups it had against the two Blue White decks was Sphinx's Revelation The card draw was not such an issue, but the life gain was a huge set back in those games, so I've decide to bring back Skullcrack in the sideboards, (also useful for the random Maze's End Decks which I might run into, I play tested without the Warleader's Helix and I found that Warleader's Helix really helped out when the games went a bit long the 4 extra life helped a lot letting me live long enough to finish the game out. I cut one of the Flame-Wreathed Phoenix becuase while it is a good card and helps a lot when you need it, at the same time I often found myself taking them out for Stormbreath Dragon

THANK YOU
Thanks to the community, this deck has gone through a HUGE set of changes. Given comments, I was able to focus on the absolute worst match-ups and figure out how to better the deck based on them. I was also able to utilize many suggestions (Heritage Druid, added one additional Cavern of Souls, etc.) to make the deck that much better. Please test that deck and let us know what you think? The deck could never have been as good as it is without the community here on TappedOut.
Thanks go to:
Sam_I_am, alpinefroggy, killkong1211, infinitemana, Midwest, Dreno33, Chris62295, Elliote50, darthrevanbeast, PhageTheUnbeatable, Sully351, Charles, Javak, prihodaj, DenzelPretzel, RedSoxFanKy, Scion of Primal Hunter, dotytron, diatryma, deep_shadow, DeepShadow, dcarpntr, Elliote50, Aldazar, vinnyb803, i3, ProfessorDucky, v4v3, Vito1014, and mateobadajoz2.
Of course I'm sure there are more who have helped, and I apologize if I didn't get your name in there. I just wanted to clean up the comments completely and show the deck as it is now (as I was able to spend the last 5 days testing everyone's ideas and literally play dozens upon dozens upon dozens of games :).
Thanks again to all that have helped! As always, please let us know that you think. Any additional suggestions, comments, and/or +1's are SUPER appreciated!

After Self Playtesting
sev705, 11 years ago
So, after play testing with my other decks, I realized I needed more creature options and had too many spells. Changed up the deck a little and decided on a final sideboard. Still need more play testing to fine tune.

It went terribly. The deck didn't perform well at all. I made a couple of last minute changes to the deck, as the playtests earlier in the day proved that the aggro wasn't fast enough. I had added in some Experiment One and Dreg Mangler to replace Reaper of the Wilds and a few other things.
It was just a complete mess, so I'm kind of taking this deck back to scratch.
Breakdown of the rounds:
Round 1 - Played against what I'm assuming was some form of midrange/lategame Rakdos deck. I had absolutely no reason to lose to the deck. He was sitting there, reading each card for minutes at a time, and at the end of the round, he even said that he barely knew what he was doing. The only reason I lost was because of my slow aggro and bad draws.
Round 2 - Played against an MTG acquaintance that is still fairly new using a Minotaur deck. I won the round.
Round 3 - Played against a Devotion to Boros deck. The first match was something that can only be described as one of the most nail-biting and amazing Mexican standoffs I've ever had. It basically came down to whichever one of us pulled Stormbreath Dragon first, despite the fact that I was getting life back from Scavenging Ooze. Eventually, I thought I had the swing on him thanks to Xenagos, the Reveler pumping out a fairly steady stream of 2/2 Satyr tokens. Unfortunately, I kind of forgot that Boros Reckoner can gain first strike, so I ended up throwing the game for myself. His next top deck after that would've been a Fanatic of Mogis, followed by two lands...while my next top decks were a Putrefy and a Stormbreath Dragon. Feel like a dummy. It didn't matter, though, as the next two matches were again chalked up to bad draws and slow aggro.
Round 4 - Played against another MTG acquaintance who uses an almost straight mono-red burn deck. It was annoying, and I COULD'VE won it if my draws hadn't been so amazingly bad in the last round matches of the round.
Went 1/3 for the night. Luckily, my buddy played my American Control deck that I've been working on forever and went 3/1, so I know that if worse comes to worse, I can always bust that out and do fairly well with it now.
I still want Jund to be a thing again, though...so it's back to the drawing board.
I'm removing and adding the following:
- -2 Underworld Connections
- -4 Scavenging Ooze
- -4 Reaper of the Wilds
-
-4 Sylvan Caryatid
-
+2 Slaughter Games
- +4 Flame-Wreathed Phoenix
- +4 Spike Jester
- +4 Fanatic of Xenagos
We'll see how this feels instead.

New additions

Captain Ghaveman is turning into a very combo-orientated deck. These cards just help combos happen:
- Psychotrope Thallid. Replacing Crowned Ceratok. Extra card draw off those saprolings.
- Utopia Mycon. Repalcing Craterhoof Behemoth. Never come in useful. The idea is to drop after getting lots of tokens down, but more often than not it's infinite tokens, and this just isn't needed.
- Krosan Grip. Replacing Ready / Willing. Extra mana off those saprolings.
- Nim Deathmantle. Replacing Jar of Eyeballs. Just a good card when infinite mana is involved.
- Mana Reflection. Replacing Tempt with Discovery. Glad I now have this card.
- Oblation. Replacing Gaze of Granite. Yay for spot removal.
- Eternal Witness. Replacing Death's Presence. Graveyard recursion will be handy to get back those combo pieces.
- Puppeteer Clique. Replacing Sepulchral Primordial. More abusable.
- Altar of Bone. Replacing Night Soil. Need Eldamri's Call really, dunno whether to run both.
- Geralf's Messenger. Replacing Sign in Blood. A win condition.
- Bane of Progress. Replacing Predator Ooze. A nice boardwipe on a stick.
- Melira, Sylvok Outcast. Replacing Primordial Hydra. Don't know about this one, a kinda finicky combo piece with some cards.
- Idyllic Tutor. Replacing Reaper of the Wilds. Very handy tutor.
- Beseech the Queen. Replacing Shinewend. Tutors just help get the pieces for the combos.
Lands:
- Bojuka Bog. Replacing Swamp.
- Vivid Marsh. Replacing Forest.
- Orzhov Basilica. Replacing Forest.
- Strip Mine. Replacing Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree. Got it out often, never been activated.
More:
- Saffi Eriksdotter. Replacing Search for Tomorrow.
- Reveillark. Replacing Corpsejack Menace. Although synergistic, wasn't part of any combos. Well, none I could see, I could be wrong.
- Blasting Station. Replacing Swiftfoot Boots. With Nim Deathmantle, I no longer want these boots.
- Earthcraft. Replacing Phyrexian Arena. Helps get those combos off!
Even More!:
- Murmuring Bosk. Replacing Gavony Township. Athough synergistic, I never really used it. Thought about replacing a forest, but I need all the coloured mana I can get, and I don't wanna run too few basics when running Earthcraft.
- Phyrexian Altar. Replacing Hour of Reckoning. Helps with the combos.
- Demonic Tutor. Replacing Harmonize. I'd rather tutor than draw.
- Enlightened Tutor. Replacing Putrefy. Don't know if I'm running too many tutors now :S
- Karmic Guide. Replacing Grave Pact. Really sad to see this one go, but the mana cost was just too finicky. Martyr's Bond might get a try out if i get my hands on one. Avenger of Zendikar will be replaced with a Tooth and Nail if I get my hands on another one. Also looking to replace Strangleroot Geist and Aura Shards, possibly to make room for Doubling Season and Defense of the Heart.

Revamp
Temeraire, 11 years ago
I shifted the focus of the deck from board presence to token burn. Removed the Spear of Heliod and the Phantom General to add Guttersnipe and Searing Blood. The focus of "create tokens and hope they survive and maybe try beating them in the face" really wasn't working, so I shifted to "expendable tokens that are used for Purphoros, God of the Forge triggers". I really like the increased pace and feel of this revamp.

First tourney, 2-2.
I was pretty disappointed but I lost to a friend for the third match and didn't care after that. Destroyed a mono-black devotion deck first round then beat my brother's reanimation deck. My friend played Izzet burn/control and outplayed me. The last match was against rakdos splash green and was more efficient. I really like the deck and would try to make my own, but someone's using most of my green cards.
Sceond Tourny, 2-2.
First round against a buddy of mine running White weenies sans Brimaz, King of Oreskos. Super solid and too fast for my deck even with Anger of the Gods. Second match was against the improved R/G monsters with Xenagos, God of Revels. He stomped hard because I couldn't draw the right kill spells. He actually got the chance to get Xenagos, the Reveler's emblem along with Xenagos, God of Revels trigger on a Polukranos, World Eater and swung for 20. I was amazed I couldn't stop the planeswalker before that happened, but its cool that he got to combo. The third match was free because the person dropped. Fourth match was another R/G monsters that was more refined than the first. Only thing that went wrong was that his deck didn't want to work.
FNM, 2-2.
Disappointed again. I would of made top but got knocked out round 4. First match was golgari control and he just decimated every Desecration Demon and Stormbreath Dragon I pulled. I straight lost. Second match was an azorius aggro I guess you can say. It was mostly Brimaz, King of Oreskos and Heliod, God of the Sun with a handful of weenies. Kinda hard to tell because he was mana flooded both games and I couldn't see the rest of his deck. Third match I played an interesting B/U/G control deck. His deck also took a shit on him both rounds so I got the win. The deck had lots of golgari control along with blue counters, Kyora, the Crashing Wave, Jace, Architect of Thought, etc. He pulled it apart after the match and its the first time I've seen a super sold control deck with those colors. Props the the guy who made it and hopefully I can see it in action. The last match was against Boros aggro. I made some crucial sideboard mistakes and lost 1-2.
Changed how the deck handles now that I know how much aggro is a problem for it.

Change From Mono White to Green/White
MTGfanman, 11 years ago
I have changed the deck to hex proof auras as this is the same strategy I was running in mono white with Eidolon of Countless Battles, Ethereal Armor etc.
Update 4

Switched 2 ephara's radiances for the 2 gift of ohrzova in sideboard.
4-0 at Sunday Standard Tournament
jozef, 11 years ago
2-0 vs R/W Heroic- The guy was playing his first tournament ever. I beat him pretty easily, and ended up giving him some cards that would give him a better shot in the next round.
2-0 vs U/W Control- This is a great matchup for my deck. Game one he got some early Detention Spheres out, but I was able to apply constant pressure. A 6/6 Mistcutter Hydra with haste sealed the win. Game two he cast 3 Supreme Verdicts, and used Dissolve on some of my wurms. I was able to top deck VERY well, much to his dismay. An uncounterable Loxodon Smiter closed it out.
2-1 vs WW feat. Brimaz, King of Oreskos- I lost game one to an early Spear of Heliod, 2 Soldier of the Pantheon, and Brimaz, King of Oreskos. I also forgot about Judge's Familiar's counter ability and foolishly tapped out for an Advent of the Wurm. After side-boarding, I was able to bring in Glare of Heresy and Celestial Flare for good results. Game 3 came down to him chump-blocking a monstrous Fleecemane Lion, to which I responded with a Selesnya Charm for +2+2, trample, and the win.
2-1 vs Junk good stuff- This lady had all the good green, black, and white cards. Game 1 I was able to aggro out fast with Experiment One, Soldier of the Pantheon, and Fleecemane Lion. Game 2 she killed almost all of my guys with Hero's Downfalls and Abrupt Decays. She then ultimated a Vraska the Unseen. I was able to stop the assassin tokens from dealing damage, but she was scrying with Reaper of the Wilds as each of them died. A Blood Baron of Vizkopa was gaining her a ton of life, and I scooped when she dropped Elspeth, Sun's Champion. Game 3 she got somewhat mana screwed and I curved out nicely into Advent of the Wurm for the win.
I got 11 packs for going 4-0. Opened complete junk! My favorite card that I opened was a foil Unravel the Aether.

So I finally finished this deck's mainboard and did some playtesting. It does everything I had ever hoped for. My problem right now is giving indestructibility at a cheap cost. I played against a friend's deck yesterday that had a deck full of Anger of the Gods and Mizzium Mortars and would kill my creatures pretty cheaply right as they would come out. I quickly realized that the only way to win was to get to turn 7 and play a fleecemane lion and just react to any of his burns by making it monstrous. I won the game after that, but I don't imagine I will be that lucky ever again.
I am working mostly on the sideboard now. I like what it is at the moment but I would like to replace something with Gods Willing, as it would do more for the deck if I ever needed it. Any and all thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

Kloqdq, 11 years ago
Went back to my old ways I guess. Honestly I love this deck and I like this path of the deck the best. Xenagos and Garruk have proven to be amazing in this deck. Xenagos +1 has made so much silly mana for me. Garruk has also been crazy. Hit him then do his - to pop out a ruric thar. Overall I will keep working on this deck

Valentine's Day FNM 4-0 1st place
travis11997, 11 years ago
Finally! FNM is mine and I won...wait for it...28 dollars. Yay Match 1 vs Random Wierd deck (2-0) I feel like this kid put random things in this deck. It didn't help that I went into t2 Arbor Colossus game 1 and t5 Worldspine game 2. No problem. Match 2 vs Rakdos Wins (2-0) Rakdos can be fast but a Worldspine Wurm kind of changes battling just a bit. Sided in Shocks and Mizzium Mortars. Match 3 vs White Weenie (2-1) I lost game 1 to an 8/8 creature that I couldn't stop but I won game 2. Then game 3 happened. My opponent scryed and told me I had 1 turn to live (holy mantle). I put down a 6/6 Mistcutter Hydra and won. Sided in Naturalize and Mizzium Mortars Match 4 vs White Control (2-1) Epic match. Game 3 was great. Voyaging Satyr+Nykthos fueling a 37/37 Mistcutter for the kill shot. The other deck was great and lots of times all my creatures were coming in tapped or being arrested. Fun time at FNM though. Sided in same as match 3
Update 2

Dropped 2 elspeth in favour of 2 ephara's enlightenments
