Obosh, the Preypiercer
Legendary Creature — Hellion Horror
Companion — Your starting deck must contain only cards with odd converted mana costs and land cards. (You may reveal this card from outside the game before you start and declare it as your companion. If you do, your deck must follow the companion's restrictions. You may pay to put this companion from your sideboard to your hand at any time you could cast a sorcery. This action can't be interacted with or countered. You may only choose one companion for your deck before the start of each round.)
If a source you control with an odd converted mana cost/mana value would deal damage to a permanent or player, it deals double that damage to that permanent or player instead.

According to this page, Zalgadib was offered a deal in which he could eat Ramses, should Ramses' reign end. That never came to be.
Efreet tend to be mono-red, or Izzet in nature. But given the context, I'm going Rakdos.
Zalgadib, The Insatiable
Legendary Creature - Efreet
Devour 2
As you cast Zalgadib, The Insatiable, you may sacrifice another commander you control. If you do, add mana in any combination of their colors equal to their mana value. You don't lose this mana until the beginning of your next upkeep.
Partner (You can have two commanders if both have partner.)
3/2
Yes I am well aware he doesn't really "do anything", but his lore is bare bones. Not much to really focus on, without reading an entire story in a single sitting.
And yes, I am also aware of Thromok the Insatiable having a similar name and design concept. But again, bare bones on the lore, so I wanted to name him something that pinned it down well.
Sorry if that felt cheesed. Really did try a good design for him. But hey, floating free mana of any color(s) for a full rotation of the table though, that's pretty slick isn't it?? :D
I think the Partner is where he really shines well, though. I purposely made him an odd mana source so Obosh, the Preypiercer can see him, giving you access to three Commanders.
Okay that's enough belly aching.
Make a legendary snow land for Christmas :3 (Or Hanukkah!)

Ooh yeah I forgot about him. He partners well with Obosh, the Preypiercer. If my math is correct, Lightning Bolt would be doubled to 6, with Tor dealing an additional 1. Since he is also odd, that 1 is doubled to 2. So now you are at 8 total damage.
But, Tor also deals 2 for the instant, which is doubled to 4.
So resolving a Lightning Bolt is going to cause a total of 12 damage, all in when the dust settles.
(As for Yarlok, that was never meant to be involved with infect; Just a "weird" one to add to the list.)

Update!
Out: Cabal Coffers
In: Swamp
Two notes: One, Cabal Coffers doesn't work well in this deck due to how I have my mana base set up - so its out. Two, Descent into Avernus with Obosh, the Preypiercer out is egregiously fun. I had it deal 24 damage on upkeep at one point! I love how this deck is evolving, and my playgroup actually doesn't hate it! Haha.
Icbrgr on Zoo: Is Obosh, the Preypiercer …

Is Obosh, the Preypiercer worth it/viable in Drop focused Zoo Decks?
Been looking through my old decks and found the core to my zoo deck and was looking to see how I could make it more Up-to-Date now that things like Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer and Collector Ouphe exist now.
Obosh, the Preypiercer caught my attention for seemingly HUGE payoff but im wondering if it is actually castable in Zoo... I dont have a whole lot of expirience with running or even interacting with companions... but paying to get it into hand then paying the nesessary doenst seem reachable. I know things like Utopia Sprawl and Arbor Elf can help but I have concerns that it would hurt more than help the hyper=agressive strategy.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this matter?

Update!
With Dungeons & Dragons: Baldur's Gate on the horizon, I found a card that looks sneakily fun to be placed into the deck: Descent into Avernus! I am hopeful this card has a few functions:
- The benefits it brings to our opponents has some political benefits
- The treasures help with our own mana ramp
- It brings the pain with some amplify combo pieces on the board such as Obosh, the Preypiercer or Furnace of Rath.
This will replace Pain Magnification for testing.
