Deck Introduction

---

In most Karametra EDH decks you see people sorta building around her "landfall trigger", with cards like Avenger of Zendikar or Rampaging Baloths and while this is fine and dandy, i wanted to do something else with her, i wanted to take the fact that she is an enchantment, and do something with it.

• you like playing solitaire
• you like strong synergy but not instant win combos
• you like enchantments

---- You might not like this deck if ----

• if you like to play aggressive
• if you like being able to directly answer other players threats, ie. Counterspell, Murder
• if you are super competetive
• if people in your meta love Back to Nature

---- Other Viable Commanders ----

Just because i Run Karametra, God of Harvests as my commander doesnt mean you have to as well, other good commanders include:

• Sigarda, Host of Herons this is a really good commander for enchantress, especially if your meta has lots of Grave Pact effects or commander tucking

• Captain Sisay she is ok, you can use her to fetch Serra's Sanctum or Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx which is huge, but once they are on the field, she is pretty mediocre, as enchantments arent typically legendary

• Krond the Dawn-Clad more of a voltron style, he works, but you have to play aggressive with him.

• Rhys the Redeemed reasonable as an angel doubler late game, but that is all he is good for.

(When I'm Going over the following cards im including cards that arent in the decklist. These cards are ones i think are great and fit the deck nicely, just don't work in my meta, or personal preference. they are included so anyone following this primer has more options to customize the deck!)

The Creatures

---

• Arbor Elf - generally i like to throw all my enrampmants (ie. Utopia Sprawl . Market Festival, etc. ) on one land, he can essentially tap for 3-6 mana pretty easily.
• Elvish Mystic / Avacyn's Pilgrim - these aren't that good outside of a karametra build, and i'm mostly still running these because i have the FNM promos for them and they are pretty :)
• Auramancer / Monk Idealist / Eternal Witness - basic recursion creatures
• Faith Healer / Auratog - these are fun, enchantment sac'ing is vital to several combos in the deck. faith healer is slightly better due to the deck not being aggressive.
• Sigarda, Host of Herons - she is great in the deck, shutting down anything that would force us to sac our enchantresses or enchantments.
• Avacyn, Angel of Hope - indestructibility is so powerful in a deck like this, it makes it so mass exile is pretty much the only way to deal with the mass enchants
• Argothian Enchantress / Mesa Enchantress / Verduran Enchantress / Kor Spiritdancer - these are the core of the deck as they are what give that insane value to your enchantments.
• Eidolon of Blossoms - the most recent enchantress, and one of the best, able to be tutored for by both creature and enchant tutors, and drawing when an enchantment ETBs rather than is cast is huge.
• Heliod, God of the Sun - vigilance is relevant if you are struggling to produce enough angels to kill the whole board at once, but the real reason i run him is for the clerics, they are a good mana sink, tigger Eidolon of Blossoms, tick up my Sphere of Safety and so much more.
• Heliod's Pilgrim - she is great as an abusable aura tutor, able to grab enrampments or shutdown auras ( Faith's Fetters , Darksteel Mutation )
• Ajani's Chosen - this card is probably on its way out, at first glace it seems solid, but iv'e never won with this card, never seems to work as advertised
• Aegis of the Gods - triggers karametra and enchantresses, and a solid effect, good card.
• Sun Titan - amazing card when paired with a Sterling Grove
• Riftsweeper - because i can abuse it with Skybind or Flickerform to negate crap like Merciless Eviction but i mostly run it for Holistic Wisdom so i can be a bit more carefree with what i exile.
• Courser of Kruphix this card was pretty underwhelming unless i had Sylvan Library out, if i did, it was amazing.
• Monastery Mentor - solid card, tokens should get huge the turn you go off, the only issue i see is getting tokens before you go off.
• Academy Rector - this guy is so broken good in blue decks he resembles a 4-mana Omniscience for this deck he is pretty much whatever we need ( its usually Privileged Position)

Non-Aura Enchantments

---

• Sacred Mesa / Sigil of the Empty Throne / Luminarch Ascension - these are how the tokens are made, sacred mesa is the weakest but it can get the job done, luminarch pretty much requires a spere of safety or a mystic barrier down.
• Sylvan Library - solid "scry 3" effect, with karametra granting easy shuffling, this is even better than it looks
• Privileged Position / Greater Auramancy - very important protection, without these you are as likely to get Wear / Tear as an unsleeved deck
• Sterling Grove - a combo of protection and tutor, we have a lot of recursion, so sac'ing it usually isnt the wrong choice.
• Banishing Light - "fixed" obilivion ring, still worth including
• Journey to Nowhere / Oblivion Ring - with a sac outlet, these permanently exile.
• Parallax Wave - combo with Opalescence for infinite exile / flicker effect, not that im running opal, but its solid on its own.
• Holistic Wisdom - an enchantment that can recur enchantments, more thematic than particularly good.
• Enchantress's Presence - another enchantress, not a creature, but can be tutored with enchant tutors, and is harder to remove as a result.
• Mana Bloom - barely ever pay the X, i love it as just an enchantment that keeps self bouncing, albeit slowly
• Martyr's Bond - can really help when someone wipes your tokens, or tries to destroy your enchantments.
• Mirari's Wake / Mana Reflection - you need one of these to really go off, and its worth noting Mana Reflection doubles the mana you get out of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx or Serra's Sanctum
• Sphere of Safety / Mystic Barrier - stops you from just dying to more aggressive players.
• Skybind - free ETB triggers, "untaps" lands, kills tokens, and removes blockers.
• Abundance - keeps you full of gas, and combos with Sylvan Library for "draw three cards" every turn.
• Aura Shards - strong enchant/artifact hate.
• City of Solitude - stops any counterspells, or Prophet of Kruphix shenanigans. you mostly do stuff at sorcery speed anyway
• Dueling Grounds - stops any swarm strategy dead in its tracks, including your own, can delay you quite a bit without an Auratog on the field.
• Awakening Zone - great with Martyr's Bond and it works like a ramp spell, but counts as an enchantment. with Rancor on the spawn, its like a better Mana Bloom
• Aura of Silence - great for slowing down the artifact player, or just using as a Naturalize
• Stony Silence - GG Sol Rings
• Suppression Field - only good if your meta has a lot of activated abilities, we do rely on Luminarch Ascension after all.
• Karmic Justice - allows you to really screw the guy who cast Back to Nature on you
• Wheel of Sun and Moon - screw you re-animator
• Blind Obedience - for hasty decks, extort is secondary
• Vernal Equinox - any player, but flashing enchants is powerful.

Aura Enchantments

---

• Faith's Fetters - mostly for walker shutdown, can be useful against certain commanders as well
• Unquestioned Authority one of the voltron enchants
• Utopia Sprawl / Fertile Ground / Wild Growth / Market Festival - these are my enrampments, accelerate mana, + color fixing + enchantress fodder
• Squirrel Nest - huge pet card here, the card isnt actually that good, at least not without Earthcraft but i love the damn card.
• Pentarch Ward - i use this almost solely for the card draw, but it isnt bad against a mono-color deck
• Rancor - lots of combos
• Flickerform - blinking, little pricey, but can be worth it on an Eternal Witness or the like.
• Ancestral Mask - the only enchantment you need for power/toughness buffing to one-shot people with commander damage
• Ethereal Armor - the other enchantment that allows you to one-shot
• Darksteel Mutation - commander shutdown
• Bear Umbra - totem armor is useless with karametra but essentially double mana isnt.
• Song of the Dryads - commander shutdown

Instants and Sorceries

---

• Chord of Calling - early game its and enchantress tutor, late its a Sun Titan
• Krosan Grip - for combos you cant stop at sorcery speed
• Wrath of God / Rout / Winds of Rath - i dont like running sweepers, but if you do run any of these.
• Open the Vaults / Replenish - screw you Back to Nature, also hilarious with Auratog and Eidolon of Blossoms
• Plea for Guidance / Idyllic Tutor / Enlightened Tutor / Three Dreams - self explanatory i hope
• Creeping Renaissance / Reviving Melody / Dawn to Dusk - worse than Replenish but you need recursion bad, so redundancy is best.
• Kruphix's Insight - with the amount of enchantments i run, and as much recursion as i run, this card is solid.
• Austere Command - solid modal board clear

Combos and Synergies

---

• Enchantress + Abundance = keeps you full of gas
• Abundance + Sylvan Library = Draw 2 extra lands/nonlands every turn
• Opalescence + Parallax Wave = infinite exile or flicker of any creature or enchantment. This is a bit difficult to explain but how it works is similar to the classic Auratog + Oblivion Ring you remove 3 charges and target what you want exiled, but don't let those resolve, you then remove another targeting itself. Let that resolve and its return effect triggers so it returns everything exiled (itself) and then you let the other triggers resolve, permanently exiling the other creatures. To flicker repeat the process but let the first exiles resolve and then they come back when wave exiles itself.
• Oblivion Ring / Journey to Nowhere + Auratog = permanent exile, a classic.
• Sterling Grove / Greater Auramancy + Privileged Position untragetable boardstate
• Holistic Wisdom + Riftsweeper + Skybind / Flickerform = repeatable recursion engine.
• Skybind + Courser of Kruphix = life off of each land you "untap" with skybind
• Courser of Kruphix + Sylvan Library = dig dig dig
• Aura Shards + token producer = one sided PurifyW.I.P.
