Heliod, Sun-Crowned - Not infinite

Commander / EDH* Lifelink Mono-White Tokens

LFudge

Maybeboard

I've purposely avoided the infinite combos in this deck targeting a ~ 6 power level. I was concerned with ramp can card draw in this deck since it's mono white and the options are so limited. After playing it several times, I no longer concerned about ramp. I just need to stay on curve and the low casting cost means consistent ramp isn't necessary. Card draw is a problem. I've had several games where I come out strong and threaten the entire table, they throw some answers my way and then I have like 60 life and 1 card in hand and can never catch back up. To counter this, I've added a bit more draw and graveyard recursion and most importantly, it's critical not to commit all my cards to the board. In the long run, it's best to hold cards that you otherwise could play.

The scenario I really like to set up is something that generates create tokens, a soul sister or similar card that gains life when a creature enters, and Heliod that creates +1/+1 counters when I gain life. Once this engine is in place, I like to hold my cards and let the engine run until someone stops it.

Also, I rarely block. I'll gain so much life it usually doesn't matter if the creature does damage.
