Hungry Lynx

Creature — Cat

Cats you control have protection from Rats. ((Remember the acronym debt.) This can't be damaged, enchanted, equipped, blocked or targeted by Rats.)

At the beginning of your end step, target opponent creates a 1/1 black Rat creature token with deathtouch.

Whenever a Rat dies, put a +1/+1 counter on each Cat you control. (Dying is being put into the graveyard from the battlefield. Tokens enter the graveyard before they cease to exist.)

Amazing deck! I did not realise there was someone before me with this idea, and I love how your deck is looking. Cards to consider for your Maybeboard: Acorn Catapult, Death by Dragons, Elephant Resurgence, Kamahl's Summons, Plague of Vermin, Tempt with Vengeance, Artifact Mutation, Dowsing Dagger  Flip, Curse of Disturbance, Liege of the Hollows, Sawtusk Demolisher, Akroan Horse, Hungry Lynx, Life of the Party, Sleeper Agent, Tahngarth, First Mate and lets not forget the "Hunted" cycle with Hunted Horror, Hunted Dragon and Hunted Troll

I'm glad I could help! I have some other suggestions if it's no longer budget (I won't include Mana Crypt an stuff though haha) and you want to improve it some more: I see that you also have Ohran Frostfang , which is a great deterrent for your opponents deciding to block. Another good source of Deathtouch could be Bow of Nylea , which also does some other cool abilities on top of giving deathtouch. Some other good drawing enchantments include Garruk's Uprising , Elemental Bond , and Colossal Majesty . Since you run anthems, these guys can trigger on your weenies too. If you want something more consistent, Beast Whisperer and Mentor of the Meek are also good draw power. A fun card that puts creatures onto your opponent's side of the board is Hungry Lynx , especially because it gives your commander protection from the creatures it makes! Legion Loyalist seems perfect in this deck since he gives all your creatures first strike, trample, and evasion from tokens, and all of those things make it easier to get the goad trigger. Dragonmaster Outcast and Emeria Angel can make even more flying tokens to get that sweet goading trigger. Feldon of the Third Path seems good for when things are inevitably in the graveyard and you want to use them. Blade of Selves lets you use a creature you already have even more! Some other ramp that you haven't included is Selesnya Signet , Sol Ring , Rampant Growth , and Sword of the Animist . Anthems that you might consider are War Horn , Spear of Heliod , and Glory of Warfare .

The cards I would cut include: The small creatures with only a landwalk ability, like Dwarven Grunt and Treetop Scout ( Dryad Sophisticate is good, though). They are limited in their ability to get in for damage, and don't do much else beyond that, which makes them your more weak cards. I agree with your decision to try to cut the Hunted Troll , but the Hunted Dragon seems good since you can swing immediately and goad the tokens it makes. Although the Soltari creatures with shadow are good, I think you may have too many of them--they are intensive, and only Soltari Champion and Soltari Visionary really do anything when you use them. The Healer's Hawk and Segovian Angel are basically really bad Serra Ascendant s. If you want the 1-drop, maybe consider Figure of Destiny (gets bigger) or even Rhys the Redeemed (makes tokens). Citadel Siege and Dictate of Heliod are too slow and/or costly to make an impact, in my opinion. You know your meta better though.

Cut down to 37 lands, I'd say. Probably...a Plains and a Forest?

Also. Hungry Lynx, Brimaz, King of Oreskos, Bronzehide Lion, Fleecemane Lion, Leonin Warleader, Mowu, Loyal Companion, Ainok Bond-Kin, Jolrael, Mwonvuli Recluse.

You also need more removal. I'd recommend picking a few out of Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, Generous Gift, Beast Within, Chaos Warp, Nature's Chant, Return to Nature, Force of Vigor, Return to Dust. Those are single target creature/artifact/enchantment removal, mainly. You also need a bit of mass removal. I'd suggest something like Hour of Reckoning, Dusk / Dawn, Cleansing Nova, or Austere Command.

Pride Sovereign is great, although its probably more for GW. Feline Sovereign is a lord that also gives you artifact/enchantment removal. Prowling Serpopard is obviously great against any sort of counterspell-playing deck, although a bit expensive. Kaheera, the Orphanguard is also sorta expensive but you can just run one as a companion. Generous Stray isn't as good but its cheap and cantrips.

Some other 2-drop green cats are Feral Prowler and Initiate's Companion. Hungry Lynx is super good, but pretty expensive as well.

You could also maybe add some 1-drop cats like Scythe Leopard, Scythe Tiger, or Wild Nacatl (you'd have to run more colors for that though).

I would suggest going into GW colors. Even though the manabase won't be great with budget constraints you get access to so many more cats: Adorned Pouncer, Brimaz, King of Oreskos ($$$$), Leonin Vanguard, Regal Caracal, King of the Pride (this one is OP), Qasali Ambusher, Ajani's Pridemate (good with Leonin Vanguard, etc. This'll also give you good SB options like Felidar Cub/Qasali Pridemage (not sure if needed with Feline sovereign already removing artifacts/enchantments), Dromoka's Command, Leonin Arbiter, etc.

Phostration on Attack Me But Don't Hurt …

My first commander deck. There have been a couple of legendaries that I have seen and thought, "you know that looks like it would be fun as a commander/brawl," but Thantis, the Warweaver made me say "Ok, I gotta put a deck together."

Behold my Thantis deck Attack Me But Don't Hurt Me UwU (WIP).

I knew from the start that I wanted 3 things to happen:

  1. I wanted to make ALOT of tokens on my side of the field AND on the opponents side of the field,

  2. I wanted to make it so that the opponent is forced to attack me each turn and,

  3. To make it so that their creatures attacking cause them to lose life and I gain life or counters etc, while when I attack, I deal TONS OF DAMAGE.

I would say the enchantments make a pretty good majority of the theme cards. There are some important Creature cards like Hungry Lynx, Goblin Spymaster, and Grismold, the Dreadsower, but others like Adun Oakenshield and Urabrask the Hidden are for their pure utility.

I am used to making Modern and Casual Kitchen table decks so trying to figure out which card to take out and which card to not have at all in the deck has been interesting. 100 singles is ALOT harder than 60 with a limit of 4 on each card.

I'm not looking to be winning tournaments with this deck, but I do want to be able to have fun and winning is a nice little bonus :).

Suggestions are appreciated and memes are welcome, so why not both?

Greater Good is a better draw engine than Ajani, Mentor of Heroes (also cheaper with the reprint).

Grafted Exoskeleton, Sword of the Animist and Shadowspear are just good especially in this deck.

Hungry Lynx is overpriced and can really hurt you. Jareth, Leonine Titan is quite slow. Seht's Tiger doesn't do much for its cost. Edge of Autumn, why?

no Lost Leonin or Skyhunter Skirmisher?
