Took the Draconic Domination precon deck an tried to make it playable without draining my wallet too much (which turned out to be quite a struggle). I'm a big fan and nerd for Dragons and when the 2017 Precon Commander Deck came out, this was a must have for me.

So the idea of this deck is DRAGONS! Just big, nasty, flying creatures, hitting our opponents in the face. Multiple times. Pretty straight forward. No imaginative ideas. No 10 minute combos. Just Dragons.

I love the idea of this huge Dragon sitting on a Mountain, watching its smaller siblings tear everything apart, before engaging itself in the battle and devastating everything in it's path. Yeah - that's what's in my mind playing this deck... So for me Scion of the Ur-Dragon never was an Option, although it may be more effective. Especially if you go for a Reanimation / Reclamation approach.

Playing 5-color and only big creatures the main problem is getting enough AND the right Mana out. I tried making the Manabase a bit quicker, thus throwing some of the precon three color Lands out, which bring consistency, but come in tapped. Besides Ramping I needed to go for color fixing. Playing 5-color I also have access to green and with that to Landfetch, which ramps and fixes our Mana. Knowing that, I put in more Forest Lands to ensure I have at least one green Mana in my starting hand. Chromatic Orrery might be a bit expensive, but it's the ultimate Mana fixer and I pulled it from a booster, so I decided to try it out.

To help us play our Dragons, cost Reduction can come in handy and with the Ur-Dragon we have constant cost reduction. So going with along with that, Dragonspeaker Shaman and Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma are good options, reducing costs by two and Goreclaw even having an upside when attacking. Another great way to help get our Dragons out is by cheating them into play. Since good cards for that are not the cheapest (Mana and money-wise) I focused on trying to cheat in The Ur-Dragon via Hellkite Courser and Geode Golem.

Finally having one (or maybe even multiple) dragons out, we want to see some results, quickly. Cards like Dragon Tempest, Rhythm of the Wild or Temur Ascendancy can provide that by giving our creatures haste. Dragons are big hitters and the ones like Dragonlord Atarka or Drakuseth, Maw of Flames can deal quite some damage, but we want more! Dromoka, the Eternal and Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury enhance our Dragons, but truly devastating strikes come with Atarka, World Render or Sylvia Brightspear, giving them Double Strike!

As mentioned, not playing Scion of the Ur-Dragon, which works good with Reclamation / Reanimation cards, I decided to concentrate on Protection. If it was in my budget, I'd put in Dragonlord Dromoka. Nevertheless Bladewing the Risen and Teneb, the Harvester are nice, because they can bring back Dragons, of which we, after all, have just few.

Tokens are never bad, especially if they are more big Dragons! Having cut out some Dragons to reduce Mana costs and include cards to make the Dragons we play more effective, Tokens seemed like a good way to get back some Dragon-manpower.

Recommendations and ideas always welcome!
