Izzet generally doesn't struggle against aggro. Especially right now. My advice is that if you want to give this deck flavor, you're looking at Arclight Phoenix , Crackling Drake , Erratic Cyclops , and Guttersnipe .

What I'm curious about is where your removal is. I suggest flipping into midrange. It's flexible and what Izzet does best. For your instants and sorceries I suggest 2x Lava Coil , 3x Jaya's Greeting , 3x Sinister Sabotage , 4x Opt , 2-3x Mission Briefing , and 2x Ral's Outburst over your current noncreature spells. Why aren't you playing at least one copy of Chemister's Insight ?

Your curve is too saturated to be an "aggro" deck, which is best defined by keeping your curve low to outpace your opponent through damage. What you should consider is changing into midrange, as it's more of what this deck is seeking to perform as.

My last note is that you are playing some bad cards. Dreadhorde Twins , Invading Manticore , Bone to Ash , Goblin Gathering , No Escape , Nahiri, Storm of Stone , Sleep Paralysis , and Slimebind . Cards (not already mentioned) that are bad in an aggro deck are Murmuring Mystic , Shivan Dragon (seriously not a good card), your whole counterspell suite, the Chandras, and Izzet Guildgate will slow you down behind your opponents.

Firstly if you plan to build your deck around a single card have 3 them in it. Even with the amount of cards search you have, it still makes it far safer. Also I think adding more Sinister Sabotage instead of No Escape as at 3 mana you usually want the versatility of "counter target spell". Also I'd take a look at your 1 or 2 off's and see if maybe you can take some of them out and instead increase the amount of some other cards. People often make the mistake of filling their deck with 1 off's which usually leads to a very unpredictable and chaotic hand(which isn't what you usually want). Although I am not saying remove all 1 off's, they can still be useful.

Also if you want to make a Standard legal deck the know that Izzet Boilerworks isn't standard legal

You don't have any plains in this deck, which makes it hard for Glacial Fortress and Clifftop Retreat to come in untapped. Some shocklands would be good replacements for some of the checklands since you have almost a 50/50 checklands than lands with subtypes. They'd also be good for the lifegain lands since having a land come in tapped is a bad tempo loss. Lightning Bolt is a better Lightning Strike , and you should replace shock with something like Lightning Helix or Rift Bolt since they are both more powerful than Shock. No Escape is not particularly good when there is Remand . Remand can counter anything for two mana, or one with the Electromancer and allow you to draw. It puts the card back in your opponent's hand but it can essentially Time Walk them.

OK - I am just going to throw in some random ideas that might, or might not fit with your vision for the deck.

At one stage I played around with a modern deck based on Sylvan Advocate , Sylvan Awakening and accelerated landfall. Does Nissa, Who Shakes the World make this a viable theme/sub-theme in Commander?

I think that Kasmina's Transmutation and Kasmina, Enigmatic Mentor could fit into your deck. If, however, you are going to start to introduce Planeswalkers to your deck, you open up a whole alternative strategy and want to start considering cards like Evolution Sage , Flux Channeler and Bioessence Hydra (although this card works best in a Superfriends, Standard or Modern deck).

Two other cards from the new WAR series that I like for your deck, but will not even try to suggest where they might fit in, are Devious Cover-Up and No Escape .

No data for this card yet.
