Hello everyone, today I will be starting a $ . "Budget Build" series starting with Teysa Karlov, one of the many commander decks I will be creating throughout the year. This series is directed towards people who are newer to the format / the game of Magic the Gathering. I remember when I was introduced to the format of EDH, being scared about dropping a large chunk of change on cards that could hang with the rest of the board. Have no fear, as I will be providing you decks that achieve that and more without breaking the bank.

Teysa Karlov is devoted to the Orzhov color combination (White and Black). She is two colorless mana, a plains, and a swamp to cast from the command zone. If you don't understand what she does by reading the rules text of the card, let me explain to you what she does in simple terms. If ANY creature on the board dies and causes a triggered ability of one of your creatures to occur, it will occur twice instead. Additionally, she provides creature tokens you control with the abilities of vigilance and lifelink.

With that being said, the main goal of the deck is to abuse the mechanics of your creatures triggered abilities when ANY creature dies on the board, whether it be on yours or your opponents. Not only that, but we also incorporate a token sub-theme to take advantage of Teysa Karlov's other ability. Within 4-5 turns, you will begin to create an incredible value engine that will make your enemies suffer, while you have fun in the process.

If you take a look at the "Maybeboard" below the actual deck list, I will be plugging in some upgrades that will work great in tandem with Teysa. These upgrades will be for the people who have a bit more money to spend and are confident in what they need. I strongly suggest starting out cheap to get used to the mechanics of the deck. Also, starting out frugally is handy if you choose to not pursue this deck list, there won't be much harm done.
