Overview

Not stax, but rather a resilient value-add deck, which functions around the core mechanic of evasive creatures finding home for effects during combat phase. Derevi provides a blanket value-add for all attacks. Powerful tap effects take advantage of the Derevi untap mechanic to ramp the deck into oppressive levels of mana & card advantage. The deck features a complex infinite combo as a difficult to anticipate win-con.

Sideboard lists cards that might be swapped out. Acquire/maybe lists cards that might be swapped in as improvements.

Win Conditions

Most of the win conditions in this deck revolve around out-valuing your opponents for creature damage through resilient board states. Examples:

• Strionic Resonator combines with almost any of the below listed win conditions, since they all rely on triggered abilities. Abilities that trigger upon damage being dealt can be copied multiple times if Derevi, Empyrial Tactician is in play to supply untaps to Strionic. Brago, King Eternal goes infinite with Strionic with many board configurations.

• Beastmaster Ascension plus a handful of evasive creatures can pull a lethal swing seemingly out of nowhere.

• Quietus Spike starts a very short clock for one opponent.

• Rafiq of the Many, Finest Hour, Duelist's Heritage, or True Conviction can create massive swings in board state with creatures like Medomai the Ageless, Daxos of Meletis, Thada Adel, Acquisitor, or Willbreaker on the field.

• Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur can be dropped as early as turn 4 (due to Flash + Derevi untaps)
