neheb the eternal edh

do you like big Eldrazi multiple combats and fireballs for a lot? then Neheb is for you. Neheb has a little bit of combo big beats Stax and big mana good stuff so he's got something for everyone. In this primer, I hope to show you the best way to serve the god pharaoh and be the best eternal you can be. for all math purposes im assuming its a typical edh 4 pod
the faster you can get Neheb out the faster you can knock heads. a decent hand should be able to turn three Neheb. while fast mana isn't in every budget there are some cheaper options.

Mana Crypt. an easy t3 Neheb and aids in getting out earlier value and other fast mana

Mana Vault. t2 Neheb as long as your lands make the 2 red required. normally a 1 hit wonder but Neheb that early can't be beat

Sol Ring the basic commander rock and an easy t3 Neheb. no downside either

Mind Stone most likely a t4 Neheb However being starved for card draw in mono red it curves and has value later

Ruby Medallion t4 Neheb and aids our red spells later

Lotus Petal t4 neheb. swapped Simian Spirit Guide for this as this can help make Inventors' Fair active

Cryptolith Fragment   t4 Neheb and creates 3 mana after combat if Neheb lives. easily the best rock in the deck

Generator Servant t3 haste Neheb. on par with Mana Vault for speed and also a one hit wonder. and if he's not used to cast Neheb he can swing for 2.

Treasonous Ogre t4 neheb at the expense of 15 life. and fuel for neheb and finishers later.

HOUNERABLE MENTIONS

Treasure Nabber Even in Neheb Ville we respect the rule of givsies backsies. stealing other peoples rocks either helps get Neheb faster or play bigger things.

Grenzo, Havoc Raiser While he's mainly a value source one of the forms of value he offers is other peoples ramp.

Chandra, Torch of Defiance rarely helps cast Neheb faster but she does generate "Draw" and can make the last mana needed to cast Neheb t5

Seething Song t3 Neheb and that extra push later. the only ritual as its the only one to net more than one mana.

Ancient Tomb t4 Neheb. early value. 2 life is worth the extra ramp in your land base.

Dwarven Ruins helps get Neheb out t4. and sacking a land isn't a huge deal as Neheb makes mana for you after

Crystal Veinhelps get Neheb out t4. and sacking a land isn't a huge deal as Neheb makes mana for you after. (deja vu)

Sandstone Needle similar concept as Dwarven Ruins t4 Neheb and curve other cards out sooner with its second activation. Ramp in your land base.

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. more of an honorable mention. no guarantees but could help get Neheb out faster. with 2 more red devotion in play and Neheb, it starts to net mana.

after Neheb is in play you need to make mana. some of the setup pieces you can do in main phase one include,

Browbeat have the table fuel your card draw or fuel your mana in main phase 2. 3 mana for 5 mana is a decent trade off

Chandra, Torch of Defiance Chandra is an all-star and will be featured several times. her uptick to exile the top card deals 6 damage to help fuel neheb if you choose not to play it. 4 mana for 6 on the turn shes played and generates card and mana advantage after.

Chain Lightning both a peice of interaction and ramp. It and Lightning Bolt both serve as interaction and potential ramp. 1 mana for three makes it a red dark ritual in Neheb

Fiery Confluence the highest mana and damage producer in the deck that doubles as artifact interaction and problem creature removal. 4 mana for 18 mana.

Flame Rift basic damage for mana. 2 mana for 12 mana

Purphoros, God of the Forge Playing Purphorous the turn before Neheb allows us to play Neheb and instantly deal 6 damage. swinging for 6 while being indestructible is nothing to sneeze at either.

Risk Factor Better browbeat as it can both be used twice and you can target someone whose life total is more valuable. such as the Ad Nauseam player. 3 mana for 4 or 3 mana draw 3 is amazing for mono red

Sin Prodder arguably the best support card in the deck as he offers the illusion of choice. he digs for an extra card each turn and either fuels Neheb or fuels your hand. plus he can swing for 3 with menace producing even more mana

one of the easiest ways to win the game in Neheb is through infinite combats. However, there are more ways than Aggravated Assault to take extra combats. the deck focuses on the ones that give us main phases in between in order to cast more things and make even more mana after the next combat.

Aggravated Assault not just a win con in itself. while it does let you hit people with Neheb and any other creatures you have what do you do if someone can block. you can also use Aggravated Assault as a ritual by spending 5 mana in order to go to a new combat and refresh your mana pool up to the total damage dealt that turn and hopefully finish any remaining people with an x drop burn spell

Fury of the Horde potential free extra combat spell. allowing you to get more value in for Nehebs second trigger

Relentless Assault 2 combats in one spell. second only to Aggravated Assault in the value it yields

World at War value for 2 turns. useful for setup in the first turn and going for the kill the second turn.

The time of the god pharaoh is nigh and there can only be one survivor in your pod. in order to ensure your the final survivor of this trial you have to effectively respond to Nehebs trigger as best you can.

Strionic Resonator double the mana, double the fun, double the glory for the god pharaoh. use this at the end of the combat in which you intend to float the most mana and burn out the table

Lightning Bolt discussed earlier with chain lightning. 1 red for 3 red however you don't have to worry about if Neheb dies in combat.

Risk Factor target the weakest link. somone desperate for there life toatal will let you draw cards. poor fool. such wekness should not be alowed to serve the god pharoh. risk factor is an illusion. either way your opponent is fueling your game plan.

Price of Progress most often a worse Flame Rift however you don't have to worry about Neheb's death in combat.

Cryptolith Fragment   by tapping in response to nehebs trigger this rock makes 4 mana. one by tapping and 3 in the trigger itself
