Maybeboard

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

This is a Dina lands deck where the main focus is to get as many Jaddi Offshoot type effects in play as possible and then cast something like Reshape the Earth to ping our opponents to death. This is somewhat of a nontraditional build, so we're playing a fair amount of tutors and card draw to make sure we can do what the deck wants to do. There are no infinite loops or game winning combos in this deck, and I'd like to keep it that way.

This deck plays as somewhat of a battlecruiser build by accruing value and life without posing much of a threat until the late game. Once our board is set up we can usually win the game in one fell swoop.

The main synergy/ strategy of this deck is to drop as many lands per turn as possible and trigger several different permanents to drain our opponents to death. We can do that with the following cards...

Landfall lifegain triggers:

  1. Courser of Kruphix
  2. Druid Class
  3. Grazing Gladehart
  4. Jaddi Offshoot
  5. Kazandu Nectarpot
  6. Lifegift
  7. Primeval Bounty
  8. Retreat to Hagra
  9. Retreat to Kazandu

Mass land drop:

  1. Animist's Awakening
  2. Awaken the Woods
  3. Boundless Realms
  4. Genesis Wave
  5. Reshape the Earth
  6. Scapeshift
  7. World Shaper (if conditions are met)
  8. Splendid Reclamation (if conditions are met)

Some additional synergy... (assuming Dina is in play for most of these)

Azusa, Lost but Seeking + Bolas's Citadel - Allows us to dig really deep and keep playing / casting cards off the top.

Amulet of Vigor + Boundless Realms / Reshape the Earth / Scapeshift / World Shaper / Splendid Reclamation - Allows us to put a bunch of lands into play and then keep going.

Beledros Witherbloom + Boundless Realms / Reshape the Earth / Scapeshift / World Shaper / Splendid Reclamation - Allows us to untap all the lands we just put into play as well as all the lands we used to cast the spell.

Bolas's Citadel + Necropotence - Near infinite combo that will basically allow us to play our entire deck if we have enough life.

Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth - Well... you know. Pairs well with all the Xspells in the deck.

Crucible of Worlds or Ancient Greenwarden + any of the 8 different fetch lands - Multiple landfall triggers per turn.

The Gitrog Monster + Zuran Orb or Squandered Resources - Sac a land draw a card.

Roots of Life + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth - Makes it so anytime an opponent taps a land for mana it drains the table for 1.

Zuran Orb or Squandered Resources + World Shaper or Splendid Reclamation - Allows us to sac all of our lands for value and then bring them all back for mass landfall triggers.

Lifegift - Makes it so anytime an opponent plays a land it drains the table for one.

Polluted Bonds - Opponents will actually lose 3 life.

Powerleech - Makes it so anytime an opponent taps an artifact or equips something it drains the table for 1.

Retreat to Hagra - Opponents will actually lose 2 life.

The Meathook Massacre - Whenever a creature an opponent controls dies it drains the table for 1. Pairs well with any other board wipes Torment of Hailfire / Toxic Deluge / Culling Ritual.

This is one of four decks in my Sultai library of commander decks. All four decks are some combination of colors that belong to the Sultai wedge, with green being the primary color. My Zaxara, the Exemplary deck is the flagship deck and does not run any proxies. The rest of the decks in this library run proxies (of the expensive cards that are shared with my Zaxara deck) and are indicated with a "P" in their respective deck lists.

Everything in this library is sleeved with Ultapro lime green sleeves and dragon shield perfect fit inners. I use black, green, and blue BCW spectrum prism deck boxes, an assortment of dice in the same colors, and a dice bag that's on theme as well. All my decks and accessories are then stored in a Dewalt mid pro organizer. The two playmats I use for this library are either the double masters exploration box topper playmat or the elvish visionary playmat.

All four decks are different archetypes, but all do what green does best... ramp.

Top didn't really fit the theme and was always lackluster. Awaken the Woods does exactly what this deck wants to do.
