cEDH Dragonlord Dromoka [Primer]

Commander / EDH GW (Selesnya) Infinite Combo

This deck is good, and has made improvements. However, I still think it could improve. Any help would be great.

So, a long while ago I saw Dragonlord Dromoka for the first time, and thought, "Hey! This is basically just Grand Abolisher! He's used in cEDH! Why have I never seen anyone use this guy before?!"

Well, I began my quest to make my Gucci, overpriced, green-including, unstoppable, Command Zone-d Grand Abolisher work his wonders. Logically, I thought, people use Grand Abolisher right before they do an infinite combo (so no one can stop them before they win) and figured this should be an infinite combo deck.

Seems logical.

So I went to research "Selesnya Combos" and quickly realized the reason why I now have it in quotation marks.

They're all jank as heck.

Dismayed, especially by the fact that I'm on a budget and I didn't own, well, any of the cards mentioned, I gave up. Except,

ON A PREVIOUS EPISODE OF "REZNORBOY TRIES TO MAKE JANK NOT STANK"

I had made an Abzan combo deck.

It wasn't until literally today (when I wrote this) that I realized, "Hey! I can just take out the black!" (The black only served for tutors and card draw in that deck, it never actually did any of the heavy lifting).

And so, I replaced it with more draw, and here we are. (With other modifications).

I don't think anyone has ever made a cEDH Dragonlord Dromoka deck before, so I should explain.

This deck is not fast.

This deck is not disruptive.

BUT, it cannot be stopped.

Unfortunately, there is no way to build the combos present to go any faster without sacrificing consistency in the colors present with this commander, as far as I know.

However, many decks in the cEDH meta are reliant on counterspells and disruption to survive until they are able to combo. This deck relies that such decks are present to win.

The fastest combo decks in the game will (hopefully) be stopped before they can win by the blue player, and when it comes my time to combo, I will not only be faster than the disruptive players, but they won't be able to stop me because of my commander.

Obviously, there are some ways, but chances are slim.

The way this deck goes infinite is weird.

Basically, you try to get out a recycler, such as Holistic Wisdom, a big creature, such as Dragonlord Dromoka, a big draw spell, such as Rishkar's Expertise, a mana-generator, such as Rude Awakening, and go from there.

You play Rude Awakening to untap all your lands, after you have a bunch, so you make mana equal to the surplus. You cast Rishkar's Expertise, hopefully drawing at least 2 sorceries, which the deck plays quite a few of. You use Holistic Wisdom to exile one of the sorceries you drew to get back Rude Awakening, and then play it again to make more mana, then do the same with Rishkar's Expertise to draw more cards. You can rinse and repeat until you have drawn many cards and made a lot of mana.

Then, you can play Mirror of Fate with Restock. (Use Mirror of Fate first, use Restock to get it back, it exiles itself, you use Mirror of Fate to put it back in your deck, you draw Restock again, use it again, repeat).

Now you have infinite mana, infinite draw, and infinite ability to shuffle cards back into your library to use again.

Though there is no card that allows you to win on the spot once going infinite in my version of the deck, what you CAN do is blow up an infinite number of permanents (yes, lands too) at instant speed an infinite number of times, as well as make your opponents only ever draw lands.

Then you just beat face with Dragonlord Dromoka for as however long as it takes.

(The truth is, I could not think of any win condition card when building the deck that synergized, but eventually realized that it wasn't necessary).

Thank you for viewing.
