Hey 9-lives, thanks for the suggestion! I'm going for the combo with Mirror of Fate or Leveler to remove my whole library at once, rather than a true self-mill plan. I think Jace, Wielder of Mysteries is a strong self-mill card, but it wouldn't be supported in this deck so it wouldn't really shine.

That being said, a self-mill version will always be more competitive than this combo variant and Jace could definitely have a home in there. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!

Very cool and thematic deck! Have you considered Mirror of Fate into Thassa's Oracle as a possible win condition?

I've had that happen a few times with custom cards, but in my Chromium deck Tallowisp was often one of the best keys to victory.

In Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, Nissa, Who Shakes the World was insanely good.

Dimir Infiltrator in a The Mimeoplasm deck allows you to grab Phyresis, then all you need to do is get a big creature into the graveyard (like The Tarrasque), then play Mimmy and make a big unblockable creature, then give it infect. Very good.

And finally, I discovered the Jace, Wielder of Mysteries/Mirror of Fate combo on my own, before I went online.

In a vacuum it's Swords to Plowshares. Getting rid of someone's cheap commander or utility combo piece creature is worth the extra 1-5 life you'll have to chunk through to win (if you're even using life as a wincon to begin with).

It's not always best though.

I run Path to Exile more often because I love having the option to ramp myself if I absolutely need to in mono-white or having the option to color fix when splashing. It's especially good if you're using cards in your deck like Pull from Eternity, Riftsweeper, Eternal Scourge, Mirror of Fate, or Misthollow Griffin. It can also be more oppressive than Swords if you're doing evil things like Winter Orb abuse.

Oona, Malicious Snowball

TLDR: Deck is made for janky combos that involve everyone drawing a lot of cards so I can mill them, or setting up a Doomsday with Mirror of Fate

My budget for any single card is below $100.

Issue: Card draw and cuts

There are some cards in my deck that I feel can be cut but I don't know what to replace them with. The cards, I see at least, are Spellstutter Sprite, Glen Elendra Archmage, Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver, and Archmage Ascension.

Although I can absolutely see their place in countering spells to keep a steady board, tutoring cards, and possibly reanimating Nightmares, I think there might be cards that synergize better with Forced Fruition and personal card draw.

There are already cards I've considered, one being Font of Mythos but I already use that in my adapted tstorm823 Zedruu deck, and I'd like to not copy too many spells from one deck to another. And if possible, cutting Howling Mine as well for another personal draw card.

I want to make this deck unique, but at the same time, I don't want to sacrifice too much efficiency for it. So if I'm asking too much of both you, my deck, and myself, please say so, cause that'll rein me in.

Thank you so much!

Personally, I was very happy with my very first in-person win. I was running a jank version of my modern Esper control-combo deck and I had played Mirror of Fate. My opponent had no idea what was going on until I dropped Jace and won the game.

I admittedly haven't played much in-person, I was going to start more but then y'know COVID :P
