I see you can make infinite green mana, so why not capitalize on that?. You could do this alternatively by adding Simic Growth Chamber (Voyaging Satyr target). Genesis Wave your deck to the field, add Laboratory Maniac as an alternate win con maybe as you can potentially do the the same with the Hydroid?. Tap everything on board with Icy Blast and/or Gridlock . Nimbus Swimmer for a giant flying sea monster. Walking Ballista to take out everyone/thing.

And if you're not into infinite things then perhaps you'd like Shaman of Forgotten Ways . A bit of creature ramp and a secondary ability that gets overlooked/forgotten alot that can net you a win, esp. against heavy lifegain decks. Well, hope this helps for your first cycle advice ;).

Food chain combo, yall know it (in case you don't, Food Chain exiles either Squee, the Immortal , Misthollow Griffin or Eternal Scourge for cmc+1 mana, then repeat for inf funtimes)

Walking Ballista is so close to being perfect, but I want a payoff I can exile to Force of Will just in case. The new Hydroid Krasis is nice for finding the payoff but it doesn't have haste, so not really as good a wincon as the machine gun bastard (also the card draw can't be countered by normal means! ha HA!). Other than that, all I could find was a simic X/X flyer ( Nimbus Swimmer , also no haste) and a 2/2 with multikicker for extra counters ( Enclave Elite and yes, no haste).

Do ya'll know of any blue, X, creature spell that instawins the game the same way as ballista? Even something that mills x would be preferable,

Pir, Imaginative Rascal: Like Hardened scales but for permanents. you could also add Toothy, Imaginary Friend since Pir can fetch toothy and Toothy can fetch Pir.

Hadana's Climb  Flip: Really nice win condition with it's flip card as well as extra ramp. Otherwise, it's an extra free +1/+1 counter each turn.

Path of Discovery: Possibly puts a counter on creatures you control entering the battlefield. Can also serve as ramp and card filtering.

Generous Patron: First off, support 2 can target your opponents creatures, giving Kraj their activated abilities. Secondly, you'll draw two cards. Also, kraj can keep drawing you cards by giving enemy creatures you want the abilities of counters.

Loyal Guardian: Constant buff for your creatures as long as you have Kraj.

Marwyn, the Nurturer: Like Viridian Joiner, but it can get +1/+1 counters from a few of your creatures including Viridian Joiner.

Ok, so I love where this is going, but I do have a few suggestions: 1: Cancel is a BAD. Look at the card Dissolve, for instance. Even Disallow.2: Simic guildgate is only good with Gate synergy. Play a Breeding Pool or even a Thornwood Falls instead.3: You may want to play another copy or so of Nimbus Swimmer.4: Reef Worm

Some of these nonbasic lands are slowing you down quite a bit. In two colors, you really don't need this much fixing--especially if one of those colors is green. I would replace Simic Guildgate, Holdout Settlement, Shimmering Grotto, Vivid Creek, and Vivid Grove with forests.

After that, I'd take out some of your weaker cards and replace them with ramp spells, because you don't have enough--especially with an average CMC over 3.

These ramp pieces will also help you ensure you hit your colors: Rampant Growth, Sakura-Tribe Elder, Search for Tomorrow, Farseek, Cultivate, and Kodama's Reach.

As for what to take out, I'd pick Simic Basilisk, Nimbus Swimmer, Aquastrand Spider, Simic Cluestone, Darksteel Ingot, and Forced Adaptation. These cards don't do enough for the mana you're spending on them, or they aren't as good as other cards you have.

The mana rocks in particular really don't need to be in here if you can get extra lands out. Lands won't get wiped out by a Cyclonic Rift, Planar Cleansing or Vandalblast the way these artifacts can.

If you add these ramp spells, you can also shave a couple of lands off to add some more draw, which you are also lacking. Arcanis the Omnipotent is a good choice if you want to play with Experiment Kraj's activated ability text. Aside from that, even the budget blue sorceries like Concentrate and Tidings do their job just fine.

All that said, I like the deck a lot! I played with Ezuri, Claw of Progress for a while. Simic counters is a powerful archetype.

So far none of these Ultra Budgets have been very competitive in modern, considering the speed of the meta I can't imagine them working to well. I want to build a more competitive one. I do really like the idea, and some (Like the elemental fling one) were still very good. The issue was that they were around 40+ dollars, rather than 20-10 dollar price range.

I tried to make one using the Heroic keyword, building it around cantrips that target creatures (like Bandage and Defiant Strike) along with good heroic abilities like Phalanx Leader and Favored Hoplite, filling the mana curve out with Lagonna-Band Trailblazer, Fabled Hero, and Vanguard of Brimaz, and it works suprisingly well, winning turn 4-5 on average, but I did have a game with a turn 3 kill, just because of the synergy that can be acomplished with the strive mecahanic of Launch the Fleet, targetting my two Phalanx Leaders, two Vanguard of Brimaz, and a Fabled Hero to get a board of giant (3/3 & 4/4) cats, and a giant Fabled Hero (5/5 Double Strike) for a big win.

Another Idea for a super budget is a combo deck, one that uses 2x Zombie Infestation & 4x Treasure Hunt, 4x Reliquary Tower and finishing the deck with 25x Swamp and 25x Island, I will let you imagine hoe the deck wins!

Another powerful budget deck is Kithkin! They have one of the cheapest good lords with Wizened Cenn and have Ballyrush Banneret, Rustic Clachan, Goldmeadow Stalwart, and a bunch of other great tribal elements at a cheap price. That kind of deck is also able to be easily upgraded for a still small price, with cards like Knight of Meadowgrain, Honor of the Pure, Militia's Pride, and Thoughtweft Trio for not extreme prices.

An easy deck to build is mono-white "2 for 1", its a deck I built a while back around just dropping cards like Expedition Envoy, Dragon Hunter, Dryad Militant, Mardu Woe-Reaper, Savannah Lions, Elite Vanguard, etc. backing them up by using Brave the Elements, and Honor of the Pure if you want. For a cheap version, you don't need to, and even for one that runs Isamaru, Hound of Konda and Kytheon, Hero of Akros, the deck cost less than 30 dollars.

The point of the comment is that I feel that though these decks are interesting and fun to play with, if competitive decks for a low cost are required, I think more competitive decks for a cheaper (or equal) cost are possible.

In the case of this deck (similar to neg counters), it requires the opponent to be playing creatures, and also be playing slowly enough, or with out removal, for you to steal them. This deck also doesn't have any way of dealing with the graveyard, has no sideboard, can't remove creatures, enchantments, lands, or artifacts opponents control, and though the deck is slow, it doesn't have the control elements like counter spells to support it, even though it is in the colors... It also can't speed the deck up with ramp or draw even though it is in the colors! Blue/green card draw could also help with Lorescale Coatl and ramp could make Nimbus Swimmer a seriously viable option.

If you do want ramp/draw, Explore is a super cheap option. More cantrip buffs could also help with the deck consistency, and I could go on and on, but it just seems like you didn't look at the deck for play-ability, but instead based on random cards you thought would be cool. I can't help look through every card to try and make this a viable option, because in the end I don't think it is an option, against pretty much any meta modern deck, where as my Heroic deck beats Naya Burn more often than not, and can stand to fight Affinity and Death's Shadow too. It doesn't stand a chance against Tron or make other decks, but this one can't stand against pretty much any.
