Arixmethes - Sea Monsters (looking for input)

Commander / EDH* GU (Simic)

PJSansing

Maybeboard

The deck itself is designed primarily for the sea monsters: Leviathians, Krakens, and Octopuses in this case. That was my main focus when building this deck. Because of this, I made sure to include ramp, tutors, and ways to get expensive creatures on the board for free(ish).

This deck has a few different ways to win, each falls under two categories: combat damage and infinite mana.

Combat Damage

  1. Basic combat damage from big creatures. On the surface this is made much easier by the fact that many of the big creatures are unblockable (or near unblockable) and some even make others unblockable.

  2. Infect is one option I've thrown in through Triumph of the Hordes just because of how quickly I could do it (Grafted Exoskeleton is currently in the maybeboard as well). If I equipped it to Arthimexes, or I used Dragon Throne of Tarkir on another large creature, I can kill an opponent in one combat phase (again, made much easier by the fact that many are unblockable).

  3. Voltron is also an option. It only takes 2 hits with Arithmexes to give enough commander damage to kill an opponent. I might even be able to manage it if I equip a large enough creature with Dragon Throne of Tarkir, or even tap that creature, untap it with something like Kiora's Follower, and then tap it again to give other creatures double its power and toughness.

Infinite Mana

Infinite mana is possible by using Arithmexes, Slumbering Isle and either Pemmin's Aura or Freed from the Real. On its own, this produces only infinite green mana (because I would be using the blue one Arixmethes produces in order to activate the enchantment), but if I have Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy out then I can produce infinite blue as well, though the color doesn't really matter.

But...what do I do with all this mana lying around? Two options:

  1. Helix Pinnacle. If I have Vedalken Orrey out, I could even pull out at an opponents end step, loud it up with infinite mana, and just win out of nowhere.

  2. Lab man route, using either Laboratory Maniac or Thassa's Oracle. Several cards can help with the getting rid of my library, like Stroke of Genius.

Both of these options are really only possible with Arixmethes in play and with the two enchantments.

If I didn't have all of the pieces for this but was still able to get the infinite mana, I could always just keep casting as many creatures in my hand and revert back to the combat route.
