I am taking the Ruthless Regiment Precon and reworking it slightly until I’m happy with its state, I will be focusing a lot on implementing the Ikoria Set Human related cards to give the deck more flavor. Currently haven’t assigned the commander because I haven’t decided if I want to run Jirina Kudro or the partners Trynn, Champion of Freedom & Silvar, Devourer of the Free This deck will be mainly a themed casual deck that will avoid infinite combos or super oppressive cards and will try to be below a 7 in terms of power level. (This is because i will be playing with a casual group at LGS)

Initial Pass (4/14/20)

• Removed a Bonder's Ornament for Savai Crystal, removed a ramp with little pay off for the new crystal ramp card.

• Removed a Humble Defector for Dark Bargain, traded a ramp that could help others with a ramp that only helps me.

• Removed a Sanctuary Blade for Savai Triome, sacturary blade is just too high on cmc cost with little payoff, so I traded it for more ramp using the new mardu crystal.

• Removed a Shiny Impetus for General Kudro of Drannith, traded a impetus that could cause more harm than good, for something that is worth its cmc and combines anthem with removal.

• Removed a Parasitic Impetus for Lurking Deadeye, traded a rather meh impetus card for a fun new and flavorful combat trick.

• Removed a Titan of Eternal Fire for Perimeter Sergeant, Traded a card that is simply too high on the cmc for an anthem effect that will see much more use.

• Removed a Captivating Crew for Mentor of the Meek, traded something that just felt weird in the deck, it’s probably really good, but I don’t like it’s cmc of 8 so I traded for a more common weenie staple and draw engine.

• Removed a Fumiko the Lowblood for a Daysquad Marshal, Fumiko just feels weird in the deck and I don’t think bushido would see much use in my local meta, so instead I traded for a token gen and a good sized human. I thought about putting Outlaws' Merriment in here, but I’m not running any of the token doublers and it seems too slow to keep up with my meta as the payout is immediate with daysquad marshal, also flavor!

• Removed a Bounty Agent for Thalia, Heretic Cathar, traded a kinda meh removal card for something that will help mardu colors help to keep up with the board state.

• Removed a Battlefield Forge for Herald's Horn, traded my least favorite land from the group to instead add in a tribal ramp.

• Removed a Citywide Bust for Vanquisher's Banner, traded a boardwipe for an anthem AND draw, leaning more towards maintaining and swarming the board and board wipes would see little use.

• Removed a Magus of the Disk for Ruinous Ultimatum, traded a two turn board wipe for a opponent’s only board wipe from the new ikoria set.

• Placed on the sideboard Nahiri, the Harbinger for Lukka, Coppercoat Outcast, Nahiri isn’t bad, and she fills a different roll than Lukka, but Lukka provides his own protection on top of a much needed finisher, I’m keeping Nahiri close at hand while I play though in case I feel I need to swap them. (Also Lukka provides Ikoria flavor)

• Removed a Outpost Siege for a Drannith Magistrate traded some minor card fixing and damage dealing to instead help control the board state more.

• Removed a Unexpectedly Absent for a Swords to Plowshares, traded one removal for a better removal.

• Removed a Cleansing Nova for a Nightsquad Commando, I decided to drop cleansing nova simply because I’m looking to keep a large boardstate and it has the potential to be dead weight, so I traded it for a new flavorful token gen.

• Removed a Titan Hunter for a Lavabrink Venturer, I think titan hunter might just be one big trap, so I’m putting lavabrink in for the time being.

• Removed a Martial Impetus for a Judith, the Scourge Diva as I didn’t much like martial impetus and Judith just performs better overall.

• Removed a Kelsien, the Plague for a Mythos of Snapdax to change out the odd targeted removal for a more ikoria themed board wipe

• Removed a Dearly Departed for a Cathars' Crusade traded unreloable token gen for a reliable counter gen.

• Removed a Vigilante Justice for a Luminarch Aspirant, I didn’t like the speed of vigilante justice and it felt like I would need a lot more token population to make it work better.
