This is exactly the kind of deck I was hoping Ramos would inspire people to build - upvoted! :D

Have you thought of using Cloudstone Curio to return some multi-colour cards to your hand to replay for Ramos, Dragon Engine's trigger?

That's perfect! Curio is added!

I would try and put Glistening Oil in over Phyresis the drawback isn't much to worry about when your main target generates +1+1 counters by playing magic and it is reusable similar to Rancor.

Well firstly I feel Door to Nothingness is a must for a Ramos deck, that combo feels like it's worthy of the slot. Also, I feel the deck may be a bit too varied, there are a lot of very diverse and powerful cards here, but those cards don't necessarily work together. With Ramos, I feel extra turn spells like Time Warp and Time Stretch are worth a look, as are any number of storm combos with cascade built in maybe a la Shardless Agent?

Solid jank, my friend. I love it.

I would possibly recommend Mob Rule as a baby Insurrection, since the latter might be tough to cast for 8 with RRR.

I LOVE the idea of Villainous Wealth -- it might be fun to sideboard in Torment of Hailfire, Epic Experiment, Sphinx's Revelation, Lavalanche, Mind Grind, Strength of the Tajuru, etc . Some are awesome ramp with Ramos, others are fun splashy potential win-cons.

Increasing Savagery is insane ramp.

If any of those suit you, to make room, I'd consider cutting Sorin, Nicol (they're both sweet, so totally understandable if you decline), Magister Sphinx (it'll only feel good the first time, unless you play against infinite life decks), Avacyn (feels slightly win-more unless you have a board-wipe-heavy group).

It's a hard call because this deck is so finely tuned, and so obviously fun. Kudos on making Ramos thoroughly awesome. It is my pleasure to help out any time I can, so just mention me if I can be of assistance! Cheers

Oloro_Magic Hey! i already had Door to nothingness because yea, that's hilarious. And I agree with you that extra turns would be extremely strong but I choose not to use those effects as sort of a personal flavor rule. It isnt as fun for everyone else to play IMO. But you may be right about the unity of the deck. Im trying to keep a decent back up set for if I get Ramos locked out somehow

Here is a list of some great cards you could consider for this deck. Corpsejack Menace, Horde of Notions, Sliver Queen, Progenitus, Atraxa, Praetors' Voice, Saskia the Unyielding, Cruel Ultimatum, Brilliant Ultimatum, Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, Bound/Determined, Decimate, Urban Evolution, Abzan Charm, Bant Charm, and Sultai Charm.

As far as some cuts go you could cut these Chandra's Ignition, Day's Undoing, Reforge the Soul, Unexpected Results, Mind's Dilation. I don't really thing they do enough in this deck.

Sweet looking build so far.

My first thought is Vesuva for the mana base. I know its slow, but maybe Path of Ancestry .

Maybe some utility sweepers like Merciless Eviction or Austere Command.Speaking of command Cryptic Command can be clutch.

With your creatures being so few, and pretty important, I'd suggest putting in Lightning Greaves, maybe Swiftfoot Boots(being able to give haste and hexproof to Yidris and Narset can be huge.)

Maybe sneak in Triumph of the Hordes for surprise kills.

Sorin Markov could be tough at triple black, come to think of it, you might only want to use black as a splash in this deck. Looking at your couple of mono black spells(theres only a few) and they are double and triple black CMCs. I think taking some of those out could make this deck run way smoother.

Also not a huge fan of Aggravated Assault or Chandra's Ignition in your build, you don't seem to get enough value off of it, and the name of decks like value.

Either way, I like where this is going, sweet build!!

Ive heard ramos is best used as a storm commander, cast a ton of multicolor spells, then cast double the amount with double the mana

Note that 1 cmc spells like Brainstorm literally pay for themselves with ramos out, and things like Manamorphose and Dark Ritual have double the ramp potential

For storm, you're gonna need a LOT of instants, ramp, and "storm" spells

Storm/ multicolor spells

Gitaxian Probe

Shadow of Doubt

Brain Freeze

Lim-Dul's Vault

Chromatic Star

Mind's Desire

Burning-Tree Emissary

Tendrils of Agony

Increasing Vengeance

Painful Truths

Prismatic Geoscope

Birds of Paradise

Wild Cantor

Bloom Tender

Zhur-Taa Druid

Seething Song

Dark Ritual

Cabal Ritual

Also, charms are a great way to generate mana with ramos while having many modes for utility and building storm count

Crosis's Charm

Grixis Charm

Naya Charm

Dromar's Charm

Jeskai Charm

Bant Charm

Sultai Charm

Abzan Charm

Mardu Charm

Temur Charm

Esper Charm

Azorius Charm

Boros Charm

Izzet Charm

Darigaaz's Charm

Dimir Charm

Jund Charm

Rith's Charm

Treva's Charm

Simic Charm

And many more..

Storm also needs a lot of tutors and recursion spells if you can afford them

Snapcaster Mage

Yawgmoth's Will

Mizzix's Mastery

Kess, Dissident Mage

Past in Flames

Vampiric Tutor

Demonic Tutor

Mystical Tutor

Enlightened Tutor

Sylvan Tutor

Increasing Ambition

Signal the Clans

But yea, from what I've heard and seen about ramos, you want to storm multicolor spells in order to cast more spells with the mana and using the insane ramp to win via stuff like Mind's Desire, Grapeshot, Brain Freeze and Tendrils of Agony after a huge storm count of multicolor spells

Nice deck. The speed of it could be increased somewhat by adding either Exploration and/or Prismatic Omen. That last one especially is almost a must in a 5-color deck. As Foretold could also help you a great deal; especially because you have a number of cards in your deck that increase counters. I think I'd replace Nekusar, the Mindrazer with Atraxa, Praetors' Voice.

Since you're hoping to go the spellslinger direction, I would suggesting adding more instants to interact with the board. Removals and permissions like Counterspell/Arcane Denial/Swan Song/Path to Exile/Swords to Plowshares are great inclusions. The new card Kess, Dissident Mage or Charmbreaker Devils are great creatures to reuse your spells. I would also suggest Fabricate/Enlightened Tutor and other artifact tutors to grab your wincon in a pinch. Jeleva and Magister sphinx can probably be replaced since they don't do anything much to further your deck direction. Hope this helps.

This looks like a very fun list.

I don't know what I'd take out, but I'd suggest: Hardened Scales

Your manabase looks optimal. If you'd ever have to go a more budgettish way for it, I would recommend running all the guildgates, Maze's End and Amulet of Vigor.

I wanted to suggest Progenitus and Increasing Savagery but someone else beat me to it.

Debt to the Deathless is yet another huge bomb, the biggest problem with your deck that I see, is a high curve, and not vary much ramp.

Ramp cards I like to color fix (that you aren't running) are: Shard Convergence, Kodama's Reach, Cultivate, Coalition Relic, Prismatic Geoscope, Bloom Tender, Sakura-Tribe Elder, Yavimaya Elder

Atraxa, Praetors' Voice is a good way to get more counters, Sovereigns of Lost Alara can be quite useful if you add a couple more auras, for example: Spirit Mantle, Indestructibility, Spectra Ward, Unquestioned Authority, and Holy Mantle are all great aura's that you should add, maybe even add the new Bloodforged Battle-Axe

Molten Psyche, and Winds of Change, and Jace's Archivist are good cheap wheels and i agree with Atraxa, Praetors' Voice she is so strong. Tempt with Discovery is really good ramp Collective Voyage is good unless you don't want to help other people. also if your looking to mill Keening Stone, and Mindcrank are very strong. your commander and other creatures are an important roll in the game so i would put in Lightning Greaves, and Swiftfoot Boots maybe even Whispersilk Cloak. Sangromancer is amazing life gain for discard decks i put it out on turn 3 and then wheeled on turn 4 with jace and bumped my life up an extra 60 or so. hope this helps let me know what your really trying to focus on with your deck and i might have some better suggestions.

Hey, you asked for my advice. Consider narrowing down to a couple of strategies and cutting the rest? An important question is, how is the deck going to function if you don't have Ramos in play? Don't count on having his mana at all times. I would start by cutting a lot of the good stuff bombs and additional combats; you don't need these cards. They may be fun, nice to envision casting them with Ramos's mana, but they aren't practical. I would also cut the wheels or consider adding some options which can take advantage of getting cards out of the graveyard.

My suggestions are:

Other than Progenitus my suggestions will decrease the avg. CMC of this deck and allow you to focus on the more important cards rather than playing so many high casting cost cards which will be a hindrance much more than a strength in games where you don't have Ramos in play.

Playing tutors is better than playing so many good stuff bombs. It's better to play only a few good stuff bombs and then use the tutors to tutor for them directly when you want them. Tutors can help at all times in a game. In the early game to get cards that can help to cast Ramos and power him up and then later to find the bombs you want to use Ramo's mana with.

Charms are very good with Ramos, but more importantly they're good when Ramos isn't in play because they give so many options. They're also excellent with cascade.

Prismatic and Joiner are additional Chromatic Lantern effects. This effect is very important for the deck to function without Ramos's mana.

Kess is amazing with tutors and charms being able to cast them a second time from the graveyard.

Good luck with your deck.

There's already a lot of good suggestions here... maybe some more five colors spells?

Fusion Elemental, Child of Alara

Or mana fixing?

Prismatic Omen

Or just about anything, really.

Sterling Grove for protection/tutor, Enchanted Evening for maximum laughs with Sphere of Safety, Progenitus because your commander makes it castable easily, Doubling Cube has great potential here...

Never made a five-color deck, so i've got limited knowledge on them, but i hope these suggestions can help!

So far, most of my suggestions have already been suggested by previous comments... Bummer. The only thing I can suggest at this point is probably Knight of New Alara, although it may not have very much synergy with Ramos, it probably should have decent synergy with other cards like Maelstrom Archangel. Maybe you can try out Mayael's Aria as an alt wincon, since it seems as if Ramos can get really big in the long term, but it's completely up to you, or probably Fusion Elemental, if you don't mind having a vanilla card in your deck.

Looks extremely sweet!

Path of Ancestry maybe? And if your meta is anything like mine, maybe some Homeward Path?

Draw well!

August 26, 2017 12:11 a.m.

This could be possible cuts

curse of bounty, helping your opponenets seems like a bad move

humble defector, better card draw out there that dosen't help your opponenets

aqueous form, maybe Artful Dodge for more cast triggers on ramos

plasm capture, too mana intensive for 5 color. I imagine it'll be sitting in hand cause you can't cast it a lot.

fist of suns, you're only discounting 5 spells in your entire deck with this card

You might need some more card draw, maybe Stroke of Genius, Rhystic Study, Rishkar's Expertise, Consecrated Sphinx

Mana Reflection is $expensive$ but turns 10 mana from ramos to 20. That's a lot

Right now I'm seeing lots of good stuff additions and that's something that can happen when you build around such an open ended general in all 5 colors.

If you pick a theme and focus on it I think you'll find yourself with a stronger overall deck.

Goodstuff can be a theme as well by the way, but even goodstuff needs a little direction.

I've been working on a new budget deck called Thrax, Assassin for the Budget that is probably a little to focused on it's theme of blinking creatures. If you want to check that deck out and suggest anything that crosses your mind I'd appreciate it!

Have fun with the deck!!!
