This deck is all about +1/+1 counters, proliferate, and everything that's good (and threatening) about them. This is a project Simic deck that I hope to refine into a monstrous game night threat. Because of a rules change in June 2020 which allows a creature copy to both fully ETB, then die through sacrifice, Roalesk benefits twofold as a Commander and becomes one of the most competitive picks for a proliferate strategy, in my honest opinion, because he provides and drives his own value engine.The primary win condition is through Roalesk + Copy Roalesk cheese which allows you to put 2 +1/+1 counters on 1 creature from his ETB effect then immediately Proliferate x2 when you sac the duplicated instance of a legendary creature. Most of the time, your copy abilities should be used on the real Roalesk to gain 4 +1/+1 counters on him alone, and 2 counters everywhere else so that Commander Damage on opponents can be your failsafe and primary win condition. Simic Ascendancy is nice and all, but don't rely on it for a win unless you can 1-turn combo it with a Double effect like Vorinclex. This deck was combined from a slew of other Roalesk EDH decks. It could use more mana rocks. My focus was to explore the possibilities with +1/+1 counters on a board of giant creatures, artifacts tapping for nigh unlimited mana, and counter spelling options. Included is an EXTENSIVE maybeboard of all the options I regularly substitute into the deck, would like to own/acquire for the deck, or just additional options to enhance any chosen layer of the deck. I didn't include many planeswalkers, unfortunately, HOWEVER, note that things like Doubling Season, Vorinclex, Pir, etc. will combo nicely with planeswalker ultimate effects as they typically will be castable during the main phase in which you summon them. For instance, Fertilid or Nissa, Who Shakes the World can equally procc multiple landfall effects within a single turn and there are several routes in the deck to acquire this combo which can be nasty when used with Retreat to Kazandu for more +1/+1 counters or unlimited Scute Swarm tokens.
