I've been on the receiving end of my friend's Pir and Toothy deck many a time! Some food for thought!

I've seen some good plays come from cards that move around +1/+1 counters, things like Nesting Grounds , Forgotten Ancient get nutty when you have doubling season or anything like Hardened Scales around. Spike Weaver is another card that I don't see getting a lot of love, particularly if you have ways to give it +1/+1 counters, can help stall creature based swarm decks to get you to the late game!

Also, not sure if budget is an issue, but Hydroid Krasis is like a Nimbus Swimmer with benefits!

You should be running Elemental Bond and Garruk's Uprising you're almost always paying 3 or more into x so they're great. Vastwood Hydra might be a better creature than some of your choices. Curse of the Swine would be neat as creature removal. Capricopian is an amazing hydra that will bounce around your opponents getting bigger till they run out of mana. If you're not on a budget is suggest Doubling Season and Kalonian Hydra for obvious reasons. Then there's x card draw like Blue Sun's Zenith, Thassa's Intervention, Mind Spring, Pull from Tomorrow, or Stroke of Genius. Honestly I'd suggest any of the intervention cards, they're excellent. Think about replacing one of your non basics with Zagoth Triome and Opulent Palace and maybe Sunken Hollow

So as for cuts. Trophy Mage, Umbral Mantle, Basalt Monolith, Altar of Dementia, I'd suggest ditching some artifact rocks for some green land ramp like Farseek or Rampant Growth, and take out a few of your artifact rocks in general because you're in green and your ramp already is solid. Reclamation Sage, Elixir of Immortality, Vorel of the Hull Clade, Nimbus Swimmer. Now I would like to say that I'm not trying to hate on your deck, I quite like the concept, but I do think you need to hone in on your strategy, play an x card, make a hydra, draw into the next x card, cast that card, make another hydra. It's a great deck and I enjoy the way you built it, just trying to do as you said and help you cut some cards, and at the same time I wanted to point out a couple things you might've missed

Not a poem. Song lyrics. Last Resort, by Papa Roach.

Alright, lets do this.

Aphetto Alchemist is better replaced by a one-drop dork. Fyndhorn Elves, Boreal Druid are your friends.

Hooded Hydra is weak in commander because it has no evasion or card advantage abilities.

Kiora's Follower has the same problems as Aphetto Alchemist

Nimbus Swimmer is weak as well.

Altar of Dementia seems unmoored from everything else in the deck.

Arboreal Grazer, Risen Reef, Leafkin Druid, Growth Spiral for early game ramp. Ditch most of the 1-4 mana creatures, they gain counters way too slowly to be relevant.

Galloping Lizrog into a ramped up Nimbus Swimmer is probably your best go to lategame choice. You can use Progenitor Mimic to either copy one of these again, or copy Risen Reef either for emergency ramp or for a massive bait your opponent needs to take.

4 of each of these should be 28 cards. I'd suggest you run 26 lands instead of 24, to draw maximum value from the extra land ramp.

The remaining 6 slots, I'd suggest 2x Regrowth (to revive any creatures that you lost to removal) and 4x Condescend (you should usually be able to spare enough mana to get a good X value for it).

Another batch of cuttable creatures, the premise is simple either they don't progress counters plan or are too expensive for what they do: - Conclave Naturalists - Armorcraft Judge - Avatar of the Resolute - Nimbus Swimmer - Skatewing Spy - Tuskguard Captain - Blighted Woodland - AEtherize - Bow of Nylea - Uncage the Menagerie - AEtherspouts - Durable Handicraft - Hunt the Weak - Recross the Paths - Winding Way - Rhonas's Monument

Doritoboy100 on Deck help Oko+Simic guild+simic mutology …

Hello all, I have been playing with the Oko structure deck, that I updated using Affinity For MTG's youtube video, and just bought the Simic Mutology structure deck as well as the Simic Guild Kit, as well as some booster pack cards. I'm trying to combine them into a 75 card deck, with 15 cards I know to take out for 60. Based off the cards in these 3 decks I'd like to build the deck around a constant flow of powerful monsters through the +1/+1 counters, as well as overloading on mana and drawing a lot. Some of the main points of damage right now are Oko who can just turn everything into a base 10/10 and distribute lots of +1/+1s, vorel who can double somethings counters, zegana who gives trample, galloping lizrog which can take all the +1/+1s and double them onto himself, nylea's forerunner for trample, progenitors mimic and miming slime to make clones, and wild born preserver for reach and his +1/+1s. But I also have things like coiling oracle/fathom mage to draw a lot, and gyre sage/maraleaf pixie for tons of mana. So I'd like to just find a good strategy in this mess lol.

The total card list of everything I will have is: (stuff with "x" seems important to me) Creatures: 1 Oko, the Tricksterx, 1 Vorel of the Hull Cladex, 1 Zegana, Utopian Speakerx, 1 Momir Vig, Simic Visionaryx, 2 Cloudfin Raptor, 4 Coiling Oraclex, 1 Cytoplast Root-Kin, 1 Elusive Krasis, 4 Faerie Vandalx, 1 Fathom Magex, 1 Frilled Mysticx, 1 Galloping Lizrogx, 1 Gyre Sagex, 4 Keeper of Fablesx, 3 Maraleaf Pixiex, 1 Nimbus Swimmer, 1 Nylea's Forerunnerx, 3 Paradise Druid, 2 Plaxmantax, 1 Progenitor Mimicx, 1 Protean Hulkx, 3 Spectral Sailorx, 4 Sphinx of Foresight, 2 Surveilling Sprite, 1 Trygon Predator, 2 Vigean Graftmage, 3 Vigean Hydropon, 1 Wildborn Preserverx, 2 Zameck Guildmagex,

Instants: 1 Applied Biomancyx, 1 Disdainful Strokex, 1 Gift of Strengthx, 2 Oko's Hospitalityx, 3 Optx, 1 Prying Eyes, 1 Quenchx, 1 Radical Ideax, 2 Rapid Hybridization, 1 Return of the Wildspeakerx, 1 Voidslime,

Sorcery: 2 Flash Foliagex, 1 Maximize Altitudex, 1 Miming Slimex, 1 Selective Snarex, 2 Shielding Plaxx, 1 Urban Evolutionx,

Enchantments: 3 Charmed Sleepx, 3 Frogifyx, 2 Setessan Trainingx,

Artifacts: 2 Simic Signet,

Land: 4 Simic Growth Chamberx, 4 Simic Guildgate, 4 Thornwood Fallsx, X Forestx, X Islandx

Thanks!
