Maybeboard

So, do you love Stax and enjoy the fact that no one at the table gets to play? But do you also love to see your board full of many small creatures and like to turn them 90º and cause pain and suffering to your opponents? Or even, do you enjoy abusing your lackeys, using them as fuel and ammunition for your shadow purposes? If the answer for those questions was "Yes", this deck is for you!

Before even the spoilers of Commander 2016 began to be released I already sketched a Whiteless (UBRG) Stax deck delighting me with the possibilities of wickedness. After the spoilers, at first glance, I did not notice any new commander who would fit very well in that role, and I even considered the possibility of using Kraum, Ludevic's Opus and Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper. But I thought it was a bad combination. After a few days I had an epiphany and saw the possibilities of Tana, the Bloodsower in a Stax build based on tokens, with blue and black as support, making Silas Renn, Seeker Adept her best friend. Oh guys! I could already hear the cries of my tablemates!

The idea of the deck is to cast Tana to the battlefield and to lock it in the sequence using cards like Nether Void, Mana Vortex, Contamination and Winter Orb. In the meantime, you'll be filling up the battlefield with our commander's tokens, which will be fuel for cards like the classic Smokestack, Descent into Madness, Shivan Harvest, Goblin Bombardment, Nullmage Shepherd, Sadistic Hypnotist and Magus of the Abyss, which in this case ends up fitting better than The Abyss. It should also be noted that Opposition and Seedborn Muse with this large amount of creatures is usually end of game. Our tokens are also important for power plants like Xenagos, the Reveler and Gaea's Cradle, which in a game with lands locked, put this deck very much ahead.

Our other commander, Silas Renn, Seeker Adept is a coadjuvant but still manages to gain value in interesting ways, like returning from the Graveyard Aether Spellbomb every turn and greatly annoying our opponents who like their creatures in the battlefield. Obviously, Silas is also here to get back all those little pieces of hell that our opponents insist on removing, be they Stax artifacts or potentially powerful artifacts and equipments, like Umezawa's Jitte and Eldrazi Monument.
