passimo on BW Pestilence walls

I'll admit that I initially ignored this deck because of "pestilence" in the title. It was an error, it's a nice deck, and an original turn on the boring pestilence archetype.

Here I'll list all my opinions (given the "help" flag I hope you'll be interested in them, otherwise, ignore them =D ). Obviously, these will all be my subjective opinions, while the deck is yours, so use them as you wish!

If I were you, I'd think about upping the Wall of Glare and Glyph of Doom count to 4, It could really turn into an easy board-wipe.

On the other hand, I don't really like Glyph of Life. You could probably get better lifegain, using (Children of Korlis?), or, even better, multitasking-spells with a lifegain option (Light of Hope is an example, but not the best for this kind of deck).

Similarly, I hate to say this, but I don't really think Gary fits in; you don't have that much devotion, resulting in too Little lifegain for its cmc, nor some way to flicker him, and he can't be Unearthed. I'd look for a better cmc 3 or less "damage-to-the-face" creature, don't know which, but I think there are a few that deal two, damage or leech, for 3 cmc.

Obviously I'd update Doom Blade to Cast Down as soon as you get your hands on one.

Finally, this one is more of a stretch and really an oddity of mine, but I'd absolutely like the deck more if it didn't use Guardian of the Guildpact. Cemetery Gate already kinda does the same job, and fits the deck, thematically and mechanically, better.

I apologise for any error in my english, I'm not a native speaker and the mobile text auto-corrector is not helping either. I hope you find some use in my suggestions, cheers!

ClockworkSwordfish on Overlooked But Awesome Cards For …

Why would you need to combine Glyph of Doom and Glyph of Life to create a one-sided board wipe? Wouldn't Glyph of Doom do that on its own alongside Wall of Glare ?

It's also worth mentioning that Glyph of Destruction pairs very nicely with Fling .

Recently, I have been scrounging the Gatherer for new sweet Pauper cards, which has been successful. The catch is, these might not fit into decks in the mainstream or decks built around these would be pretty janky. If anyone could make a list out of any of these, I applaud you. Anyway:

Kobold Taskmaster : Sitting at a steep 30 cents, Kobold Taskmaster gives all Kobolds a boost. In case you haven't noticed, Kobold Tron is legal. ( Crookshank Kobolds , Kobolds of Kher Keep , and Crimson Kobolds ) Kobold Taskmaster can also just provide a boost to Changelings, like Universal Automaton and Changeling Outcast , or just give your board some bones on the meat with Shields of Velis Vel . A playable deck though; that is for you, the victim of my madness, to decide.

Glyph of Doom , Glyph of Destruction , and Glyph of Life : All of these are in here because of a combo with Wall of Glare . Either block all their guys and gain a ton of life, or wipe out all their attackers. If you combine Doom and Life, you can get a one-sided board wipe if you play your cards right.

Mob Justice : This 2 mana spell can absolutely wipe someone out. With the help of creatures from Kuldotha Rebirth , The Kobolds, and others like Hordeling Outburst , Nest Invader , Sprout Swarm , Triplicate Spirits , etc. You could then finish the game with Raid Bombardment , Massive Raid , or Impact Tremors .

Hopefully you enjoyed my list! I still have some cards down my sleeve, but I would like to hear your overlooked cards for Pauper as a comment. I really want to do a part 2, so one will surly coming. Cya.

So Enlightened Tutor comes to mind. I think it's probably better than Idyllic Tutor, though it's significantly more expensive. If you're working on a budget, Idyllic Tutor is perfectly okay.

Toxic Deluge is an expensive card that I expect to go down in price soon (it's been reprinted in Double Masters, and in my experience masters sets tank their rares, if only for a short while). It'd be especially good since you have a lot of high-toughness cards.

I think Mythos of Nethroi is probably better than Putrefy.

I also think that even in a deck based on walls, you can benefit a LOT from one-mana mana-dorks. Arbor Elf, Elves of Deep Shadow, Elvish Mystic, Llanowar Elves, Deathrite Shaman, Fyndhorn Elves etc. will accelerate you in a way that only green can do. Even with boardwipes, they're worth it. Note that they also let you land your general turn two, if you get the right mana.

Additionally, since you're not a landfall, I feel like you're running too many lands. Replacing some with dorks will let you come out of the gate a lot faster. (I play EDH with a lot of more powerful decks, and your experience may differ from mine. However, I find that being able to land a meaningful turn-one play like Birds of Paradise is good in all power-levels.)

Speaking of lands, your mana base can be improved for relatively cheap. Indatha Triome is about $4 these days, and could easily replace your Jungle Hollow... Fetches are busted, especially when paired with duals like Overgrown Tomb or Savannah. However, if you don't plan on selling a kidney, there're other ways to improve. Slow-fetches (Rocky Tar Pit, Bad River, Flood Plain, Mountain Valley and Grasslands) are super affordable. Note that they can also fetch your non-basic typed lands (like Canopy Vista or Indatha Triome). Other lands of various prices to consider are Exotic Orchard, City of Brass, Reflecting Pool, Llanowar Wastes, Brushland, Caves of Koilos and friends.

Card advantage decides most EDH (and Magic in general) games. Some cards to consider: Sylvan Library, Painful Truths, Harmonize, Night's Whisper, Phyrexian Arena, Dark Tutelage etc. are all good ways. I was going to suggest Runic Armasaur, but you already spotted that one.

Retribution of the Meek is a GREAT wipe for decks like this.

I also suggest cutting some cards. I don't think Path to Exile is very good in EDH, where one-for-ones need to be REALLY good (like Swords to Plowshares or non-type specific like Mythos of Nethroi), and Path to Exile ramps your opponents. They're very likely to just use the extra mana to deploy a more dangerous threat. Glyph of Doom is interesting, and might be good, but I don't think it would be (granted that's not based on direct experience). I think you could probably just use a more powerful card in that slot. I also think you can cut some of the equipments for more influential cards. For example, if you cut Spidersilk Net and friends you can run things like Collector Ouphe and Stony Silence. If you're running mana dorks, you'll have ramp while your artifact-based friends get nailed.

Right. That's all I got. Hope this helped!

I'm currently procrastinating, so I have more suggestions.

Snickles@EDH_only on WE'RE GONNA BUILD A WALL (Oloro Wall Tribal)

may want to consider Sunweb, Mirror Wall, Cathedral Membrane, Living Wall, and Thunder Wall for walls. Warmonger's Chariot is a linear upgrade from Animate Wall, may want to replace it. Tidal Wave gives you a surprise blocker that is, oddly enough, a wall. Fortified Area gives a solid buff to your troops, Brave the Sands ups each walls stopping power while allowing those that are able to swing and still block, and Cradle of Vitality lets your general start giving those walls some oomph.

where are the glyphs? they are wall exclusive, might as well toss them in as combat tricks! Glyph of Life, Glyph of Doom, Glyph of Delusion.

love the concept, made a wall deck for tribal wars at my local store ages ago, nice to see I wasn't the only one. keep up the good work!

There's also the flagbearers: Coalition Flag Coalition Honor Guard Standard Bearer But they don't really have synergy with each other. You might be able to pull some shenanigans if you give a flagbearer hexproof or protection with a changeling out though.

Thelon of Havenwood, Fungal Bloom, Sporesower Thallid, Savage Thallid and Pallid Mycoderm are all listed as saprolings. I don't know if you merged fungus and saproling intentionally, but if you did it might make sense to change saproling tech to saproling/fungus tech.

fastbond_stripmine_crucible on so, 5/5 for 3, anyone?

have you thought of adding Animate Wall and throwing out other anchant cards to add Fortified Area is really funny and generally involves someone pulling up gatherer the 3 glyphs you can play(Glyph of Doom, Glyph of Life, and Glyph of Reincarnation might be worth it

I really want to see a Siege Dragon fight this deck just because it first ability never does anything
