Maybeboard

The mighty Lurrus, the kitty who could, survivor of the companion nerf!

Lurrus is an anchor and enabler for an upgraded version of an earlier Ayli deck I had. Her ability to play permanents from the yard helps add value to the deck, gives wb better draw options, and can start or recur several combos.

We utilize three different possible wins -- the most stax evasive combo, Ad Nauseam + Angel's Grace in the hand (Phyrexian Unlife is a backup for angel's grace), with Sickening Dreams somewhere in the library; Heliod, Sun-Crowned + Walking Ballista can be played from hand or yard with relative ease; and finally classic bomberman Auriok Salvagers + Lion's Eye Diamond can likewise be played from hand or yard with Lurrus' assistance easily.

Bomberman is a classic combo using Auriok Salvagers and Lion's Eye Diamond to get infinite mana. The deck is then full of infinite draw outlets with this combo -- Mind Stone, Conjurer's Bauble, Nihil Spellbomb, Soul-Guide Lantern, Urza's Bauble, Codex Shredder, Mishra's Bauble, with more in the maybeboard if you find you're not pulling one by the time bomberman goes off.

Many of the cards we run are subpar in slot to the fastest and cheapest instant/sorceries for 2- mana permanent versions. Their recurability should be enough of an advantage to mitigate the loss in speed. The deck runs fairly quickly, and is extremely disruptive to other decks in the process. The maybeboard is substantial -- try different versions for best results in your meta, and comment with how it goes.

IF YOU DON'T PLAY WITH PROXIES/AREN'T RICH:
It's a tough deck to play. Lurrus, and really, any of the Orzhov commanders, are pretty jank. The classic combos with Exquisite Blood (which is already quite expensive) and the like simply require too wide a board with too many vulnerable, high cost combo pieces to function. Likewise Teysa, Orzhov Scion with Painter's Servant or Darkest Hour, which still needs a sacrifice outlet, profit on those triggers, and an extra creature. This Lurrus should be competitive with stretch goal commanders like Niv-Mizzet Parun or Selvala Brostorm. If you want to build this deck on a budget, tutors will be your biggest issue. I would swap out much of the explosive mana generators for higher cost control cards with longer game value, and in place of the current tutors, some consistent draw cards, like Twilight Prophet or the various nerfed versions of Phyrexian Arena.
